“I quit drinking before the judge ordered me to—how is that for initiative? Since that last call, no bar has captured my attention. Nor have I returned to any of the bars I enjoyed around here. I’m from the east coast—a pub near a rail station which draws a crowd free of pretense is proper nurture. Glen Park Station is welcoming, comfortable, fun, and built for a night done right.

There are non-alcoholic brews for those who abstain, shot-and-a-beer specials for $12.00, wine by the glass, and an indoor smoking lounge. A pinball machine which takes dollar bills. Darts. Superior bar stools. Table seating up front. A rear patio. No Apple Pay.The bar has neighboring businesses which serve food. One can find Vietnamese, Thai, and Mexican fare within a block. The bodega sits across from BART, on the same side of Diamond St. A pizza place is in proximity. This area has a low-key dominance about it. A great spot for socializing, a walkable pocket of the city wherein small businesses sling good eats, and you have the option to get hammered.

Parking is available in the public library lot after 6, 7, 8PM during the week. Street parking on the northbound lane of Bosworth between Arlington & Diamond is free in the evenings. I am not sure when the meters stop accepting payment-I pulled up at 7:30PM on a Monday.

To those behind the wheel—be advised—residential streets intersect as sharp turns become sudden hills. At all hours there are pedestrians, cyclists, and coyotes. SFPD often posts a patrol vehicle on Bosworth (south of the Arlington intersection) to eyeball the I-280 south on-ramp.“

“We had Rompiballe Sandwich and The Milanese Sandwich. Our favorite one was The Milanese Sandwich even if both sandwiches were very tasty. It was very fresh and we liked the harmony of ingredients. “I always get the baja style fried fish tacos Nick's way. Had some friends try them last night, and everybody thought they were incredible. I personally also add their habanero salsa which you'll have to request for if you like that much heat. Their house margaritas are the perfect accompaniment. The staff is all great. It's generally busy every time I'm there but luckily I've never had to wait very long for a table (that might just be luck).“

“My boyfriend and I stopped by after being at the beach and it was so delicious! I got the tonkotsu and he got the miso ramen. It was phenomenal. We have only one at our home city in Indiana and this blew it out of the water! The waitress was super sweet and the vibes were nice. I cannot stress enough how tasty the food was!“

“My new favorite dive bar in the city. A great blues band was playing the night we went and the atmosphere was fun and full of happiness. Excellent and creative cocktails (the Bee's Knees and the ginger cocktail are very much recommended). Service was exceptional, we'll be definitely coming back! Love this place, A+++

“The BAR on Dolores is my go-to place to watch NFL football. They have all the games and are happy to put on whichever game you request. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, the drinks are great, and there’s usually free food on Sundays. They are also dog-friendly. Touchdown!!“

“This place is not what I was expecting. Chug Pub has got awesome 49ers memorabilia on the walls, as a 9ers fan I can really appreciate this. This would be a great bar to go and watch 49ers games at. The bartender was super friendly he bought a round of tequila and there were three of us. Not sure why he did this but it worked because we came back later and drank some more! The food is some of the best Mexican food I have ever had and I am not exaggerating. We ordered the nachos with tinga, if you dont know what tinga is its mexican bbq and it is a must try. The chips in the nachos were some the best I have ever had, I love my chips on the well done side almost burnt and thats how these chips came. I loved it! When we came back later I ordered a California burrito and it was hands down the best California burrito I have ever had. I live an hour away and I plan on going back on a Sunday to have some drinks, eat amazing Mexican food and watch some 49er games. The bathrooms arent the best but everything else makes up for it.“

“I walked in the other night during the Giants game. It was great since they have multiple tvs playing different games. There's also one side with the bar and one side with more dining/seating. Screens on both sides.
I sat at the bar and the female bartender (dayana) was very friendly and attentive. They have a kitchen too. I didn't order anything but I will be back since the wings looked good.

Only one downside I've experienced: i wanted a Shirley temple, but they don't have grenadine/ ingredients to make one. But they offered me other options.“

“We had a Class Reunion and everything was excellent. The food, service and venue was a big hit with many of us. Pat and Claudio accommodated our needs and made sure that anything we asked for would be received. Highly recommend these folks!“

“Honestly, as a beginning patron at this establishment, I found the size and friendliness of this Irish pub substantially welcoming ??(that's a two thumbs up). Surviving the restrictions of covid, we all had to make allowances regarding dining. So getting there with some streets still blocked off in San Mateo(to better the businesses survival of our industries) it may take you a few twists and turns to get there so DON'T GIVE UP if your GPS tells you to take a turn and you find it has blockades... Just go another block or two down and you'll find yourself on the right street. Parking is a little strained... But the secret is there a little alley directly across the street from the front door and there's a number of slots avail at NO COST! On Tuesday nights they have an amazing kareoke event, but be prepared to get on the waiting list as my last experience it was pretty much packed... Which I dig cuz the audience participation was like a community. The bartender ALWAYS replaced your glass with a fresh chilled pint glass when you're trying one of their many flavors of draught on tap and was always on duty ready to serve his patrons. Friendly, warm and inviting. I take enjoyed myself and have returned since then. Prices are very fair. I suggest trying the Cali Squeeze on tap on a hot summer day. The essence of orange infused with a malt beverage is so refreshing on a warm day and doesn't seem so heavy when you're hot. I'll be returning.“

“I was craving a burger bad and convinced the wifey to get some takeout here. The online ordering was simple and accurate and pickup was a breeze after being warmly greeted by the friendly staff.

We got a humdinger burger (Swiss and mushroom) with an extra patty (note: you don't need to get an extra patty, their patties are huge) and an alley-oop burger (bacon and avacado), plus some fries and onion rings. We ordered the burgers medium well which in hind sight I wouldve gone with medium because they accurately cook them to order it seems and medium well was a little dry. That being said, the beef was delicious and the burgers where rich in toppings and so hearty. The fries and onion rings were hot with a great crunch even after the 10 minute drive back, plus the curly fries where nicely seasoned but with lots of slivers. The ranch unfortunately wasn't so good, it wasn't your classic pizza place homemade ranch, but also wasn't as bad as chemically kraft, just mid. The addons like cheese fries and the extra patty just aren't worth it when the regular item is well composed and well executed.

All in all for the price point I think expected something a little more exceptional and on a future visit with the right order it would be a true 5 stars versus the 4.5 I would give it if I could. Dining in would be nice too given it's casual and spacious seating. If you're in the area and want a burger it's a pretty sure shot if the simple menu of a place like In-N-Out won't satisfy your craving.“
