“Rose Café in San Clemente is an absolute gem! Their lox bagel is hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had — perfectly balanced with fresh smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, and those homemade bagels that taste like pure heaven. You can tell they make them in-house; they’re soft on the inside, slightly chewy on the outside, and full of that fresh-baked flavor.\n\nI also tried the vegetarian burrito, and wow — it’s packed with flavor and feels both hearty and healthy. Every bite is full of fresh veggies, eggs, and that perfect touch of spice with the salsa. \n\nThe vibe here is super cozy and laid-back, with friendly staff and a true local feel. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast after a surf or just want a great coffee and bagel, Rose Café never disappoints. A must-stop in San Clemente! 🌸🥯🌯“

“Service isn't too friendly but the donuts are incredible, some of the best I've ever had. I come here frequently and the donuts are always fresh and delicious. The place is always clean inside but I'd prefer not to see their child climbing all over the counters as feet in general aren't the cleanest body part. It would also be nice for them to act like they appreciate your business instead of being treated like an inconvenience.“

“I’m from SC. I wanted to surf fish while here and brought a rod/reel with me on the plane. I’m here for 5 days total. On day 1 I wanted to try a local doughnut. I saw they had gluten free. I don’t need it but my kids do. I bought some from a dude in a flannel shirt. I thought it weird, but it’s California so whatever. I got them back to the place we were staying and we all sampled about six different doughnuts. 🤯 OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! I’m a Krispy Kreme lifer but DANG THESE ARE GOOD. Today I went back and bought 6 more. These are expensive so there went my fishing budget but it’s worth it because my kids and enlaws loved it. My father enlaw said the maple bacon should be illegal it’s so good. Listen there are a lot of choices here but if you are going to try just 1 or several this should be your first stop and if like me it will be the only one you need. I’m not big on California, sorry, but the only thing better than the weather and scenery are these incredible doughnuts. 🤯“

“I originally went in to get a donut and coffee and to my surprise, I discovered that this place was also a diner as well. The. scrambled eggs, homemade sausage and avocado toast we're delicious. Their coffee was also far superior to most restaurants. If you're looking for a can't miss breakfast place in an area that really needs breakfast places, you must give this place a try.“

“Niguel Bakery & Donuts isn’t just a donut shop — it’s a neighborhood living room with coffee.
Right away, I have to say this: the Boar’s Head deli meats here are the real sleeper hit. I recently had their Boar’s Head ham and cheese on sourdough with lettuce, tomato, and pickles, and I honestly can’t describe how soft and perfectly balanced that sandwich was. Simple, fresh, and done right — exactly what a great neighborhood deli should be.
And yes, the donuts absolutely hold their own. The chocolate cronut is dangerously good, the glazed old fashioned is a classic, and their cake donuts are consistently on point. My wife’s go-to is the American Mexi-Cal breakfast burrito — huge portion, buttery crispy potatoes, soft chewy tortilla, and an incredible value for the size.
But what truly sets this place apart is the people.
Our kids have practically grown up here. Dave and Dani have known them from the womb, to infants, to toddlers, and now as regulars at 2 and 7 years old. This is the kind of place where locals sit for hours talking, laughing, and catching up over coffee like the old days.
I grew up in a small town on the East Coast in my mom’s deli, where community happened over coffee and conversation. Living on the West Coast without family nearby, this place gives me that same feeling of home. Dave and Dani treat everyone like family — and Dave especially has a soft spot for kids, often surprising mine with little toys like the big kid he is.
This is a true mom-and-pop bakery and deli that supports the community, shows up for local nonprofits, and genuinely cares. If you’re looking for more than just good food — if you want warmth, generosity, and a place that feels like home — this is it.“

“I don't know if it is just me, but the donuts could have been a little more moist throughout. I don't know if that's freshness (I saw they had some that were seemingly made looking like they were taken off the cooking oven) or what should be done to make it so, but that was my experience.“

“It’s rare to find a place that makes good yeast and cake donuts, but they were both delicious here. I knew when I picked up the glazed donut—lighter than I expected, and it did not disappoint! The orange glazed cake donut was bright and citrusy, and the blueberry was tender and flavorful. We also ordered a burrito and the Denver omelet. Burrito was quite large, although the sausage was breakfast links, not crumbled.“

“I work walking distance and I have been waiting to check this place out. Thought the price was a bit pricey but the burrito was delicious! I didn't know it came with the tomato breakfast salsa (idk what you call it). I usually hate it but this was the best ine I have ever had. #17 no hash browns****“

“Great little local donut shop! Very good donuts at a reasonable price. The raised donuts are very light and airy and absolutely hit the spot. The owner is very friendly and even snuck a few extra donuts into my order. What a nice way to start the day. Thank you!“
