“We absolutely loved our dinner at Liholiho Yacht Club — everything from the vibe to the flavors was on point. We started with a couple of appetizers that set the tone right away: bold, fresh, and packed with unique flavor combinations. The pork ribs were a total standout — perfectly tender with just the right balance of sweet and savory, and the fried rice that came with them was rich, flavorful, and satisfying on its own.
But the real star of the night was dessert — the Baked Hawaii. Not only was it beautifully presented, but it was also hands down one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. A creative twist on a classic, and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the whole experience felt fun, vibrant, and effortlessly cool. We’ll absolutely be coming back next time we’re in SF! Highly recommend this spot — a true gem.“

“Arrived solo while waiting for a mate and was instantly looked after by the lovely bartender & manager—genuinely great chat and brilliant drink recs. The “punch special” is chaos in a glass (a mix of whatever’s going—but cheap and fun if you’re brave). Music was random, the pool table was lively, and people were even sending drinks to strangers, which gave the whole place a buzzy, friendly feel. It’s the perfect mix of dive bar energy with proper service and solid drinks. Not polished, not trying to be—just effortlessly cool. Definitely worth a visit, and I’d happily go back.“

“I always go to the pub crawl on Halloween. It's fun there are lots of arcade style games, and it's not that crowed, worth the visit. They could offer jelly shots of different flavors, though. I really don't like the lime ones. They were serving Mexican store-bought style food there, I don't know if they serve this on a daily basis. I didn't taste it but my friends liked it. They were drunk and hungry, so I think everything is delicious in that state.“

So I go to bamboo hut and ask if they’ll hold it.

They at first say no (I don’t blame them, I wasn’t buying anything and it was a busy Friday night)

Out of desperation I offered to pay them $100 to hold it

The woman goes to talk to the manager / owner, who comes up and says they’ll hold it.

Then they refused my money. Both of them.

It was a kind, simple interaction that really made the night of a stranger (me).

“I quit drinking before the judge ordered me to—how is that for initiative? Since that last call, no bar has captured my attention. Nor have I returned to any of the bars I enjoyed around here. I’m from the east coast—a pub near a rail station which draws a crowd free of pretense is proper nurture. Glen Park Station is welcoming, comfortable, fun, and built for a night done right.

There are non-alcoholic brews for those who abstain, shot-and-a-beer specials for $12.00, wine by the glass, and an indoor smoking lounge. A pinball machine which takes dollar bills. Darts. Superior bar stools. Table seating up front. A rear patio. No Apple Pay.The bar has neighboring businesses which serve food. One can find Vietnamese, Thai, and Mexican fare within a block. The bodega sits across from BART, on the same side of Diamond St. A pizza place is in proximity. This area has a low-key dominance about it. A great spot for socializing, a walkable pocket of the city wherein small businesses sling good eats, and you have the option to get hammered.

Parking is available in the public library lot after 6, 7, 8PM during the week. Street parking on the northbound lane of Bosworth between Arlington & Diamond is free in the evenings. I am not sure when the meters stop accepting payment-I pulled up at 7:30PM on a Monday.

To those behind the wheel—be advised—residential streets intersect as sharp turns become sudden hills. At all hours there are pedestrians, cyclists, and coyotes. SFPD often posts a patrol vehicle on Bosworth (south of the Arlington intersection) to eyeball the I-280 south on-ramp.“

“ABV is a good neighborhood bar! It was busy on a Saturday night, but my friend and I were still able to find a spot to sit. It gets pretty loud and it's dark inside, but it's still possible to have a conversation. Staff were very friendly & helpful and the drink I had was ok. The cocktail I had didn't blow me away, but it was a good drink to sip on while chatting. Parking here is nonexistent, either walk or get an Uber/Lyft/Waymo (which you should be doing anyway, don't drive under the influence!) “November 2024:
First time here after hearing many great things about the bar. The beer on tap selection was very impressive. Many local top breweries were available including a long list from Russian River & Cellarmaker. Also had some hard to find breweries including Sante Adarius, Pure project. I tried a Full Petal IPA from Sante Adarius which was excellent 👍.

They let you bring in food. We had sausages from Berliner Berliner that paired well with the 🍻.

Service was fine. Lots of reviews talk about how the bartenders are rude. I didn't have that experience.

Would definitely come back again.“

The thin sliced veal with a sauce and capers was delicious! The fried shrimp, veggies and olives/anchovies…also with a sauce was awesome as well. For my main, I had CRESTE DI GALLO - semolina pasta - wild mushroom ragu - spinach - ricotta salata. Our waiter was the best! I saved one of the sugar cookies from my deserts…Burnt Carmel Gelato. Mentioned it to our waiter and as we were leaving, I heard “Sir! Sir!” He brought me one of their meringue cookies to also share with my partner! I thought that was just awesome! “So I was lucky enough to give this place a try during a closed event hosted by the Seoul sisters and the Hoo Lee Gans. Pretty cool vibe and atmosphere when you walk in. Extensive drink list and pretty skilled bartenders tend to your thirsty soul while the home cooked Korean style street food dishes caress your belly. As it was a closed event , the food was a buffet style, help yourself and gubble it up style. Regardless the food was spot on. I really enjoyed the onion pancake. This dish is as simple as it looks it is actually rather tricky to make. The popcorn chicken was tender, the kimchi zesty yet firm and tender.
I suggest you give it a try and work yourself through their menu.“
