“We had Dina's make food for the one small seder and the entire week of Pesach. I am in the last part of completing my dissertation and just did not have the strength to both clean and cook the elaborate meals for the holiday. Well it was a lucky problem because we could not believe how fantastic the food was. Additionally the person who worked with us was so pleasant! We had so many things and everything was outstanding and scrumptious. Everything was our favorite but the standouts were- chopped liver, salmon with orange sauce, potato kugel, meatballs, walnut cake, Israeli salad ( I didn't have to chop and the salad dressing was perfect!!!), meat and fruit tagine. I know we also had brisket with a gravy that was fantastic. Usually I am happy to send friends home with leftovers but Dina's food was so good I did not want to share. i will be using Dina's for fathers day and my doctoral graduation celebration... yumm - BBQ, middle eastern Bbq, sushi... and no doubt cake too!! thank you Dina, I prefer you to Goldbelly and flying or driving to NY, Chicago or LA.“
“Best gyro north of the GGB! My favorite is the lamb and beef. You know you are on to a good thing when the local police and fireman get lunch at the Happy Gyros on a regular basis. “This is a fairly unique restaurant: behind the Chinatown gate, you climb up a steep staircase, and emerge into a tiny and narrow restaurant that feels like it used to be an apartment. The prices are fairly high and the portion sizes are so-so (give us more bread, rice, and fries at least!) but it’s a great comfort to find a friendly, homey space in the city, and that’s certified kosher. I generally order appetizers to save some money: you can do well with the hummus and falafel and skip the more expensive meat dishes. Do not expect to feel stuffed afterward but to feel reasonably satisfied.“
