“Interior is small but parking is decent, and I think the food is hit or miss depending on what you order. But for the most part the fried chicken katsu is a good option; the bone in fried chicken that others seem to like was a little dry for me. There is a catering menu and seemingly they are a good option for gatherings. The owners work here and are very sweet Asian couple. They will always smile and engage in conversation with you. Top Restaurant has been in business for a long time so they are doing lots of things right!“
“Their poke bowls are pretty good. I just wish they would add a little more raw fish and use tastier imitation crab. I also think they need to cover their toppings, as they’re exposed to air and not very sanitary. But, I like the fact that it’s quick to order and easy to customize my poke bowl.“
“I came through because I have walked through this little alley with friends and always see this tiny little cat-logo sushi shop. I came by on a whim expecting some fast foody simple rolls which would have been fine. But I was surprised when the salmon roll came out, and it was immediately obvious the fish was really nice quality and the roll looked as good as some of my favorite sushi restaurants. Very impressed!“
“This place is absolutely the best. We now have two Hawaiian bbq restaurants in the same small area. This one has the hometown feel. It's the one that is family owned and worked! They don't have fancy leis but they have a huge menu, and really good food! If you want the hometown feel.. and yummy delicious food.. come try the best Hawaiian bbq in South Pasadena!“
“A hidden gem in Alhambra for macadamian pancakes – a quaint spot with a laid-back vibe. The menu's simplicity adds charm, and the pancakes, though a tad heavy, are a delightful indulgence. The incredible cream topping elevates the experience, and while the coffee is decent, the overall ambiance ensures a memorable visit. Highly recommended for those seeking a cozy pancake haven.“
“Our server was top notch, very aware of our table....a joy to have as wait staff! Food was incredible, prep was top notch, portion sizes were varied. General atmosphere was tiki lounge lite, a fun, Cali casual/island theme very comfy. Bartender knew her way around mixology....no complaints!“
“The staff member serving me was great and explained the different options I had as it was the first time I visited. The food also made the experience equally fantastic. I had the spicy tuna and soba noodles. The soba did somewhat get overpowered by the other flavors, so I would maybe not suggest getting that but that is soba for you not any issue with the restaurant. The options for toppings were also varied, permitting a wide array of customization alongside their numerous sauces. I opted for the spicy ponzu, which I was warned was "very spicy". I would not be too concerned about the spice if you choose that option. Maybe the same level of a medium salsa if that. Great poke bowl.“
“Hello my Yelpies,IF YOU WANT AUTHENTIC POKE? YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. I've been searching long and hard for an authentic Hawaiian poke bowl for the longest time. I am looking for something that is just fish and sauce, i don't want all the unnecessary items, like peas, crab meat, etc. If you are like me than Pisces is the place to go. Parking here isn't too much of a headache, there's plenty of spots right in front. And you know it, I came here for one thing and one thing only. POKE! I must say if you like spicy you have to try their ALWAYS SPICY. That is definitely my go to order. It comes with delicious chewy rice along with some edamame and if I'm feeling a little extra I will order their masubi which are both bomb af!!! Service is great as well! I can't wait to come back again. Overall, 5 stars for food and service.“
“Super solid poke spot - the fish is fresh and they give you a HUGE portion for the price. They charge extra for certain random toppings which I didn’t love, but overall the value for the price was very high. The staff was slow and seemed overwhelmed, but that’s my only complaint.“
“My go to poki spot in DTLA. Fairly priced and not skimpy with the protein the workers know what they're doing! I switch between the poki bowls and the wrap - both are great honestly. There are so many options and compared to spots like sweet fin this is just so much fresher and better in my opinion. It's located inside the grocery store which is nice because sometimes I grab a wrap and do my grocery shopping. You can also take it to go and sit at the tables outside. Super good, a must go.“
“I’ve been coming here since it opened, and the food have been consistent every single time. They’re known for their teriyaki bowls, it’s the best option in my opinion. Cant go wrong w the popcorn chicken either! They’re extremely kind and they’ve provided amazing service and food since I was 14“
“I just had a bridal shower at Aloha and I can’t say enough about how happy I am. All of my guests were in heaven loving the food…the service was above and beyond outstanding…and Kokorono Coffee kicked butt serving his unique hot and cold coffee, matcha and hot chocolate blends. I will definitely have another event here and highly recommend that you all do too! Thank you Jen, CJ, Curtis and staff for making my event perfect!“
“I think this is the best poke in the neighborhood. everyone has fresh fish, but the sauces here are on point and hit good. I love the kimchi sauce with the oke house sauce. they even have dole whip at a decent price. now I've been coming here for years, and the price has gone up and it seems they have done away with some items like masago.. but it's still my go to for poke.p.s. I went to another poke location close by to try it out and their sauces weren't even close in comparison.“
“Very satisfied. I stopped by today after my grocery haul and I'm really happy I did. I got a small poke bowl and it was filling but light enough to watch my calories since I was able to get half greens. Everything was fresh and the gentleman who helped me was very nice. Will be stopping by here from now on to get my poke bowls.“
“Been looking for a poki place in the area and this place came through! The fish was fresh and tasty. The young lady there was extremely helpful. It was my first time there and she walked me through it all. I took it to go, but the place wasn't busy during lunch hr. I will definitely be back again.“
“TK Cafe Hawaiian BBQ in uptown Monrovia provided a satisfying experience all around. It’s a small family-run counter serve operation with great Hawaiian inspired plate lunch comfort food, especially for meat lovers. The place is tucked in a corner of the Vons mall at the southwest corner of Myrtle and Foothill, so plenty of free parking. The chef and manager Ken took my order and was very friendly and helpful to recommend certain specialties on their menu.I ordered the Chicken Combo (BBQ Chicken and the crispy Katsu Chicken) and the Hawaiian BBQ Mix (BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef, and substituted Teriyaki Chicken in place of Kalbi Beef). Both plates come with two scoops of white rice and a scoop of Mac Salad. See images.Their BBQ Chicken is definitely a specialty, flavorful, and both combos I received were a generous serving of the moist and flavorful chicken.I would go back the next time I’m in the mood for Hawaiian plate lunch and would recommend 5 stars compared to other local counter serves in Monrovia.“
“One of the best poke spots to come to if you're in the area!! They have a variety of sauces that you could combine to make your own special sauce, i really recommend the sesame shoyu and miso honey for that sweet and savory taste!! Their service is fast and their employees are friendly and very accommodating, the atmosphere in here is calm and welcoming and is perfect for getting work done.“
“This is a hidden gem! The food is fresh to order. I've only tried the pupusas revueltas and tacos de carne asada. It's a small location but definitely worth a try. It's an interesting combination of different foods. The cooks are really sweet and the gentleman at the register is friendly. There are only about 6 tables with 4 chairs each, but if it's only you and your date it's perfect. The decor is a lot of Salvadoran art and some plates with Salvadoran currency. It's cute for a date to chat and have some good food.“
“This place is very delicious. I received the Lemon Pepper Tilapia. Prices are very reasonable. Customer Service was great! The only thing I disliked was the Sriracha provided. They had the original roster Sriracha on display but we were given the cheap Vinagre knock off.I will definitely be returning and becoming a regular.“
“Even the small Loco Moco is filling and delicious. Kalua pork is excellent and the BBQ sauce for it is authentic. Macaroni salad tastes like what you get from a food window in Honolulu.A bit pricey, but the large portions are 1.5 to 2 meals.“
“I was looking for a poke bowl spot and this popped up. It was definitely the right choice for poke.I ordered their large bowl with 3 proteins, I choose the spicy tuna, salmon, and shrimp on a bed of salad and sweet dressing. Overall it was a phenomenal poke bowl. The flavors were delicious and the ingredients were very fresh.I’d definitely come back again and try their other menu items.***update***Their red bean ice cream fish dessert is phenomenal! So great that I had two of them & I highly recommend it!“
“I really enjoyed this place. My first time here and I found it easy to order and grab my food for a quick lunch. I got a poki bowl with tuna and salmon. The fish was fresh and the add ons like crab salad, sea weed salad and cucumbers were yummy. Will be a returning customer.“
“Food is always amazing however they did remove the serve yourself teriyaki katsu sauce. Service could have been a little better. Always homeless people right in front of this place asking. technically it's not their fault but there's constantly always different vagrants right in front.Parking: Always lots of parkingWheelchair accessibility: Plenty of accessibility“
“Food is delicious! I LOVE how they mix the poke and contents with your choice of sauces and THEN dump it onto your rice! No need to mix it yourself and risk getting some spillage. Just dig straight down to your rice! Very friendly staff... Nan and Jenny were super patient, as I asked about sauces and dry-toppings. I was told the spicy miso is super popular... but I loved honey miso, spicy ponzu, and the house original for mine. Dry-toppings were a must since I'm a huge fan of dried onions and garlic. Yum! Green tea tasted freshly brewed and has some matcha at the bottom. I will be back!“
“Great little independent restaurant. The world needs more unique places like this. If only people could tear themselves away from McDonald's and other gross corporate dumps and try something new once in a while. The service was very good. Yeah, they were in the back working when I came in, but they came out right away, so I can't see why anyone would feel the need to complain about that. They were out of a couple menu items this last visit, like their açaí, but it's all good because they have a varied menu and good prices. The interior is decorated with custom art pieces. Just go, ok?Vegetarian options: Açaí and all that implies... several rolls are meatless (avocado, daikon, and so on).Dietary restrictions: Easy for a gluten free person to eat here.Parking: Tons of parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicapped parking very nearby. A wheelchair could easily roll in. Flat floor layout; no steps or stairs. Spacious, private bathroom.“
“This is becoming a regular spot for me. Combos are a little pricey but the food is so good. Portions are big just wish they included more Mac salad. A combo and sushi roll cost about $28 but is shareable. This is what we usually do for 2 people. Great chicken and beef!“
“I love this chain Hawaiian bbq spot and always stop by for their spam musubi’s. The musubi’s were delicious and I got them super easy easy rice.I’d definitely come back again and just be aware that parking is busy during peak times but worth the wait. Id definitely come back for their other menu items.“
“Clean environment, reasonable prices, large portions (poke bowl), friendly & professional owners! Haven't even begun to describe the food, which is AMAZING! Very good quality. I've only ever gotten poke bowls but I need to try the sushi soon. 5 stars all across the board!!! BTW, they close at 8:30pm not 9pm. I came at about 8:25pm thinking they were open until 9pm and they served me with a smile!! Add this place into your take out rotation, you don't want to miss out!“
“Jenni is the nicest and coolest person. She's so positive and great energy always. The cook is also terrific. Thanks for being there Miki-Chan'sI refer people to You all the time. My son and Family just moved to your area and they are definitely going to order from Miki-Chan's repeatedly like we do.Zucchini green beans Always a favorite.“
“The team of this Rosemead Ono Hawaiian BBQ is a clean, safe and outstanding atmosphere, which allows customers sit and eat like you’re home.As you enter, you and your family are greeted with a smile…The crew and the manager team members are energetic, and full of life, and happy to serve you.Antonia who’s a member of upper management is a great person, who will ALWAYS go out of her way, who will go above and beyond!!!“
“Staff is always friendly, welcoming, and efficient! Haven’t gotten a wrong order yet, and my order is always ready by set pick up time. The food is fresh and so delicious! It’s a must try ✨Parking: Huge parking lot considering this area is home to many businesses and vendors!“
“Pretty cool spot that opened in the same plaza as Bonchon, Paris Baguette and Katsu Sando. This is unlike any other poke place I've had since you order via the robot and they make your food in the back. Other spots is like Chipotle style. That being said, the 'small' portion was pretty hefty but also a bit on the pricey side. Good quality fish though.“
