“I had been to Elyse years ago at their old location. I brought my family to try the newer location and every person loved the food they got. From the appetizers to the main courses, there were no duds. The food is flavorful, the decor is tasteful, and the pricing is very fair. I love supporting small businesses and we will be back for sure.“

“The food here taste excellent, even better than some of the high end restaurants we experienced at nearby Santana row, Los Gatos etc. All the dishes presentations are nicely done (we went in for a group dinner). The sea bass dish can often be mishandled in restaurants. Our two orders all came out perfectly done, crispy tops and tender inside without being undercooked, can be wonderfully pared with either black rice or Jasmin rice. The restaurant's décor and ambiance are relatively low key and neighborhood (gem) oriented. If you care about the food taste rather than a fancy dinning environment, this place definitely gives you the bang for the buck.“

“Black Sheep Brasserie is a lovely addition to the downtown Willow Glen district. The location is convenient and charming, with the bonus of having their own parking, which is always appreciated in this area.
We visited on a Friday evening and were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded, making for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Service was a standout: friendly, cheerful, and professional without being intrusive.
Food-wise, the meal was consistently strong. The Grilled Beet Salad was excellent—the dressing was well balanced, and the candied walnuts were a perfect complement, adding just the right amount of sweetness and crunch. The Steak Tartare was spot-on, seasoned exactly right and very satisfying.
The Wild Mushroom Risotto with Duck Confit was solid: the risotto itself was cooked perfectly with great texture and flavor. The duck was good—maybe not the highlight of the dish, but it worked well overall.
The real surprise of the night was the Grilled Tomahawk Pork Chop. Expecting it to be dry, we ordered it medium rare and were blown away. It came out juicy and tender, with a beautifully developed crust, and the sauce paired with it perfectly. Easily one of the best pork chops I’ve had.
Dessert sealed the deal. The Bread Pudding was truly special, with a nicely done crust and a flavor that was just right—not too bland, not overly sweet. The berries and ice cream were a perfect match and elevated the dish even further.
Overall, Black Sheep Brasserie delivers excellent food, warm service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Definitely a place worth revisiting.“
