Really nice hole in the wall, the california rolls actually had real flavor in them, which is rare. My server was david, he was very nice and fast, i witnessed a doordasher be unkind and he still didnt skip a beat and kept his attitude kind. If youre in the area give it a try
My kids love their bento boxes, great price with a lot of choices. They have a lot of rolls too. So far I like Orange Blossom, Island, Lion King, Bad Boy, Spicy Salmon Tempura, Crazy Monkey. Definitely my family will come back to try more rolls at Makiyaki! Service are great as well! I really enjoy time their with my family!
So good! I got the 2 item bento with tonkatsu and spicy tuna, and it was a lot of food for really good value. Everyone was so kind as well

Makiyaki is a small restaurant located in Pelton Plaza, downtown San Leandro, featuring a clean and enjoyable ambiance. They offer a variety of food options, including bento boxes and sushi rolls, with vegetarian choices available like avocado rolls. Guests can enjoy dishes such as gyoza, yakitori, and tempura, which are good for the price. The beef teriyaki bento box was delicious and filling, served promptly. The staff is attentive and pleasant, making for a nice dining experience. While some find the sushi selection lacking diversity, others appreciate the reasonable prices and good service. The location is convenient, but parking can be challenging. Overall, Makiyaki is a decent spot for casual meals with friends or solo lunches, with affordable sushi options worth trying.
