“A hidden gem in SLO! The food was high quality and vibes were great! They make in house Peruvian brandy, which was awesomely delicious. The dessert mousse is amazing! I will definitely eat here every time I visit SLO! The owner was very nice and welcoming too. You can feel at home while dining here. We don’t have anything like this in all of LA area!!!“

“Finally had the chance to visit Jan's Place in San Luis Obispo. Went with a friend and what a cool, chill place to go to grab a drink and here some awesome vinyl on the turntable. Food menu is a little eclectic and focuses on tinned fishes and pate style snack. Im not a big fan of fish although the menu offerings did seem paired well together. Place kinda had a Tokyo feel to it and and awesome little tucked away lounge seating towards the back if you wanted a more intimate experience and not join in on the conversations upfront. Definitely recommend checking it out for the vinyl selections alone.“

“Scenic rooftop bar with great drinks.“

“We loved swinging into the bar late at night! It was pretty empty, but the bartenders were fun and the drinks were good! We grabbed a slice of cake too, which was huge but not exactly what we were hoping for, but we couldn’t leave without trying the cake. We got the bees knees and raspberry lemon drop.“

“My wife love staying in the rooms there with the hot tub right in your room. We also like to use the hillside hot tubs. The gift shop is nice also.“

“Gorgeous rooftop pool located at Hotel Cerro! We booked through resort pass so we could utilize the pool and were spoiled with a great cocktail list and sunshine all day. Will be back for drinks again soon as the bar and wonderful views are open to the public.“

“I haven't eaten here yet but the bartenders here are so spot on amazing it's unbelievable. They see me approaching and my drink set up is on the bar just the way I like it. I love it here and everybody is loads more fun than a barrel full of monkeys. I prefer the daytime/early evening cast of local characters and hard working folks who have manners, intelligence, and moral fiber, which is sorely lacking these days. McCarthy's is the shizzz!“

“Best cocktails in town, full stop. Great selection and extremely knowledgeable staff.
Zach in particular exudes both great professionalism and confidence in his craft, and he really made our night memorable.
The well selection is good and also great higher shelf collection.
As always, the ambiance lighting brings a uniquely classy and timeless feel that you cannot find anywhere else in downtown SLO.
Fun times are had and the crowd and community here always makes me feel welcome.

“This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant with flavorful, well-prepared dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. Everything tastes fresh, from the salsas, great homemade chips to the main courses, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming.
The menu offers a great balance of classic favorites and house specialties, so there’s something for everyone. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service makes you feel comfortable and unhurried. It’s a place we look forward to returning to and would happily recommend to anyone looking for good, authentic Mexican food.“
