“My company catered Pita's for a staff meeting and everyone loved how delicious and fresh everything was!! Tonight I had to go back to introduce my husband and best friend, we were not disappointed! The lamb sandwich was delicious and filling, falafel was soft and flavorful inside, perfectly crunchy on the outside, hummus is super creamy and wonderful and the salads were crisp and tasty!! The restaurant is very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful with menu questions. We're all full and excited to go back to try more of their menu.“

“Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!“

“I bought 1 gyro, $7.99, a combination plate, $14.99, which comes packed with rice, salad, gyro meat and a kabob, and 1 pita bread, $.99. The price was more than fair for the amount of food we got. The food tasted fantastic, besides the fact that it fed my wife, and four daughters. They all raved about it. If you appreciate Mediterranean food, this place is great!“

“After visiting the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, we decided to try Ali Baba Mediterranean Cuisine of Escondido. My wife saw a recommendation post and we were eager to check it out.

When we arrived, we asked our server which family meal would be good for 3 adults and 2 kids, as we didn't want any leftovers. She suggested the meal for 2-3 people, and it turned out to be perfect.

Our kids loved it and kept saying so tasty, making it the best Mediterranean restaurant we've tried. We asked the server if there are any other locations in other cities, and she said no. Highly recommend this place for a delightful dining experience!“

“We were guests at the Rancho Bernardo Inn- as my mom surprised me for my 35th birthday! We spent the most magical day at the spa, and when it came time for dinner, we knew where we wanted to go! Unfortunately my mom did not set a reservation for outside, as when she was booking, she was told it wasn’t necessary (however, book a reservation!)- it was popular that evening, with live music on the patio (beautiful!). We went to the hostess stand, pretty confident there would not be anyway to be seated, my mom mentioned that it was my birthday- and Evan, who was at the front, made magic happen! “Tried this spot for the first time and the gyro was amazing. I grew up in Greek Town in Toronto, so I know good Greek food when I taste it - this was authentic and delicious. Even though I live ~30 minutes away, I’ll definitely be coming back. 100% worth the drive!“

“Chicken Plus will always have a special place in my heart. I still remember when my dad used to take me here back in elementary school — it was our go-to spot for a delicious meal and some quality time together. Every visit was a treat, and even now, all these years later, I keep coming back.

The food is just as incredible as I remember — always fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. But what really sets Chicken Plus apart is the heart behind it. Syd, the owner, is truly one of a kind. Every time I walk through the doors, I look forward to seeing him. He greets everyone like family and makes you feel genuinely welcome. It’s rare to find a place where the food and the people are equally amazing, but Chicken Plus nails it every time.
