13 Best Wineries in Santa Cruz

Beauregard Vineyards Winery • $$
10 Pine Flat Rd, Santa Cruz

“Had a lovely tasting experience on a rainy day with the old wood stove going. The server, Leah I believe, was super helpful and great to talk with. I ended up taking home a couple of the most unique wines I've ever had! You must try the pinot noir and the white Pinot noir, but all the wines I tried were delicious. Also, best chardonnay for a someone who doesn't consider themself a chardonnay fan 😮“

Madson Wines Winery •
328 Ingalls St Suite G, Santa Cruz

“We enjoyed a great and spontaneous tasting experience late this afternoon. We were headed to another tasting venue and decided to stop in and explore what Madson had to offer. We were promptly greeted by a friendly server, who, during our tasting was gracious and allowed us to customize our tasting experience. She was knowledgeable about the wines and freely shared her knowledge of the winery’s history. The experience was positive and the wine was delicious. We inquired about their wine club and can now look forward to having new releases sent to us. I highly recommend Madson!“

Birichino Winery Tasting Room Wineries
204 Church St, Santa Cruz

“Among the best California wines I have ever drunk!
Alex was very welcoming. He speaks perfect French and knows everything about the history of the vines from which his wines come (some of which are a hundred years old!). The wines are excellent, in a very light style which is more reminiscent of the finesse of great French wines than the American style. Among my favorites, pinots! delicate and with light fruit notes; a riesling with a perfect balance between aromatic profile and minerality, and an orange wine with an incredible nose... among others.“

Bottle Jack Winery Winery •

“Lovely location with beautiful views. You can bring your own snacks. The wine available are great. The hostess was good. The flights we all enjoyed. On this January day we sat outside and enjoyed the sun, did not need the umbrella. You can get club membership as well. We saw some humming birds darting through the flowers, and caught a couple deer on the drive to the parking. View of the bay.“

“Me and my wife had our small wedding reception at Stockwell Cellar this past September and we could not have been happier with the outcome. Suzanne and Eric made our special day amazing through the quality of service throughout the night and of course through their amazing selection of wine. The wine slushies were a huge hit even for those who are not big wine drinkers. This is the perfect location for any wine lover looking for a fun space to host an event in!“

Sones Cellars Wineries • $$
334-B Ingalls St, Santa Cruz

“Worth a visit. We had a chance to chat with one of the wine makers (husband and wife) and learned a lot about their wine making approach and how diligent and passionate they are. The white blend is unusual and interesting. They have refined it over the years and it now does come out quite well. All wines we had were at least good, several remarkable and reasonably priced. The place is friendly and down to earth.“
