“I was first introduced to Nashville-style hot chicken at Hattie B's in Nashville. Although I've never found anything quite like it here in Los Angeles (Hattie B's chicken serves bone-in whole pieces, marinated through), I'm addicted to Dave's, and love the Extra Hot! (I'll stay away from Reaper...I don't need to try something that requires a signed waiver!)

My go-to is the #4, and their fries are great too. The extra pickles they include are a really nice touch, and the sauce is a the perfect alternate to ketchup, and really goes with the chicken.

The staff is always friendly and helpful, and I can order at the counter, at a touch-screen kiosk, or on my app. The app has kind of become the easiest option for me now that I've gotten the hang of reordering my usual. I try to limit my fried, fast-food meals, but Dave's is usually my first thought when I'm in the mood to indulge in that kind of treat. If you like spice, it's a must-try!“

“Went to this place randomly for a late lunch, place was completely empty when we went there. I was curious cause I’ve never had Uzbek food before. It prolly is a family run business, the gentleman who took our order seemed like the one who was preparing the food as well. I like this kind of mom and pop places.

We ordered a beef noodle bowl and a lamb kabab kinda platter: the bowl was really tasty after adding a little bit of lemon juice, before that it felt like sth was missing. The lamb was so damn good ! And after the meal we ordered some “milk tea” that wasn’t on the menu and we were skeptical at first glance but were pleasantly surprised after taking the first sip. It was really refreshing :)“

“As a Mexican who loves Indian food, this place immediately caught my attention. I tried the quesadilla, and while it didn’t have a traditional Mexican flavor (aside from the tortilla), it was still absolutely delicious. I also ordered the samosas, which tasted homemade and freshly prepared. Everything was flavorful, and I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“I had this placed saved on Instagram and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint! We got the chicken kebab plate with extra pita bread. It was so delicious 😋 EVERY bite produced a happy dance. Customer service was great. The girl at the counter was very patient with us. There’s outside seating where we chose to sit and free parking on the side streets. I would’ve given them five stars but the fries were lukewarm. They were seasoned and crispy but warm. I will definitely be back and I can’t wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow.“

“Decided to give this place a try over Dave's for lunch. I'm glad I did. Great flavor, not oily, perfect crispiness, generous portion of potato wedges and the chicken breast was perfect balance of meat to batter ratio.

“I had such a great experience at Shawarma BBQ Express! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely attentive. The service was quick, but you can tell they don’t rush the quality of the food.

The shawarma was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. The meats were tender, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh. The sides were incredible and really took the meal to the next level.

What I loved most is the consistency—you can tell they take pride in what they serve. The place was clean, organized, and had a great atmosphere overall.

Definitely one of the best spots for shawarma and BBQ. I’ll be coming back again and again!

“I dined in around 6pm on a Saturday and it was perfect. It’s a small place with a relaxed vibe. The place was empty when I arrived but quickly filled up while I ate my food. I got the garlic naan, the sag paneer, butter chicken and rice. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. The butter chicken was my favorite - incredible spices and I could tell it was cooked on the grill (my favorite cook). The service was fantastic - both servers were so nice and the owner even came to greet us and make sure everything was ok. I would absolutely come back and recommend to a friend.“

For the appetizers, my favorites were the Kashk E'bademjan (Eggplant Delight), Potato Salad, and the Hummus! They have more selections, but this is what I was able to try. I hear all are great! For the Entrees, ALL OF THEIR KABOBS ARE FIRE (MMM MMMM YUMMY). I had a sample of most them and in the islands, we would say "broke da mouf kine", which translates to, the food is *beep beep* GOOD! If you've never had Persian Food, or you love it, this is the restaurant for you! Drinks? I love Korean Soju and Cass beer, so yeah, +10 points from me. They do carry various Wines and Beers though...and of course your choice of Soda Pop. Atmosphere? It' gives you a Kewl Kids Vibe; a classy place where you can be yourself with family and friends and just enjoy each others company. You have your choice of Indoor and Outdoor dinning which is amazing. There's also a private room upstairs that can hold 20 people for a meal and karaoke (there is a fee to reserve, but very much worth it). Staff? We were greeted at the door as if we were coming home. Pasha and his staff go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met. Their suggestions on meal and drink pairings are spot on. I can't thank Pasha and the crew for making our group outing a success. Overall? I'll be going back and I hope that you add this restaurant to your list of 'go to' places to dine at. You will not be disappointed, I promise you. (Unless your attitude stinks or you're not willing to try new food ‍) Pasha again, thank you so much for the hospitality. “I got the ground chicken skewers for dinner. The food was good. The price is great for the amount of food you get. I got 2 skewers, rice, a salad, hummus, pita bread, & a sauce for the salad. The sauce that comes with the salad is especially good. The service we experienced was also good. We ordered online and the food was served in a timely manner. Overall, this is a good Mediterranean restaurant for a nice, casual meal.“

“This is honestly the best brisket sandwich and burger I have ever had IN MY LIFE!!! And I have had a lot of both! The brisket has more of a pulled pork consistency and it is unreal with that in house slaw and potato bun. Smash style burgers are also my top fave kind of burger and they do it exactly how I would dream of it being done. They are also not your usual slider size. These are the size of a kids meal burger (so to me- that’s normal sized). Not some giant sand which but the perfect size. I would normally be content with just one of these sandwiches but I did the combo so one brisket and one burger and I could not stop eating either one even after the meat sweats set in! I got the fries with no cheese and they were great. So happy to have found this place! Speaking of place: there are no signs. Its inside of urban skillet and there are no signs or menus up in there either so feels like an underground magic spot. I feel like I’m in the know now. Thank you! (Next time I’ll take pics.)“

“Extensive menu with lots of options for sides, toppings and sauces. But the meat itself isn't that great. Both the chicken and lamb/beef were dry and not flavorful on their own. That's too bad because otherwise it's a pleasant venue with fast service. I won't be going back“

“I ordered a Shawarma sandwich for my son and asked for fries inside. The lady asked the owner if he can make that. The owner sent a complimentary fries to my son. The food is good and the place is clean. As a previous Mediterranean restaurant owner I recommend this place.“

“Chef Arango restaurant is a cozy and delicious spot on Pico Blvd and West Blvd. Street parking can be a little tricky but it can be done easily.
Lucky me, I work out at Planet Fitness a block away. I eat here at least once a week and I've tried many things on the menu. I highly recommend the dal tarka (yellow lentils), and the chicken dishes, especially the tandoori chicken and chicken tikka, as well as the other chicken dishes such as chicken vindaloo. He uses halal chicken and it's very flavorful. I have seen his tandoor oven and it's impressive.
Chef Arango was the head chef at famous Bengali Indian restaurant Anarkali on Melrose Ave near La Brea. I did not realize all the times I drove by this restaurant that he had already been cooking for me for years. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, with most a la carte vegetarian items being $13 and most chicken dishes being $16, which includes rice and papadum. He deserves the excellent reviews and I highly recommend eating here. It's small and comfy, and they play traditional Indian classical sitar music and other Indian music. Very highly recommended!“
