“I understand the concern about halal meat. However, asking people to “stay away” seems a bit harsh. A better first step would have been to speak with the manager and ask about their current halal practices before posting such a review.

This restaurant serves high-quality beef and chicken, and the food has always been delicious. I will continue to dine here and enjoy their great recipes.

“Came here for dinner and left feeling like I'd just eaten at home. The Aloo Tikki was crispy and perfectly spiced, the Chana Chalupa was a fun twist, and the Noormahal Lasagna was something I haven't seen anywhere else. The Veggie Fun came out at exactly the spice level I asked for, and they were happy to swap in garlic naan. Everything was well cooked and the flavors felt genuinely authentic, which is hard to find in LA.
The service really stood out too. The staff was warm, attentive and super sweet the whole night. You can tell they care about their guests. Highly recommend Roots Indian Bistro, and I'll definitely be back.“

They normally use for the special sauce for their Chicken Masala. The secret sauce is like nothing Ive tried before. It's sweet with hints of savory, ten stars!“

“Went to this place randomly for a late lunch, place was completely empty when we went there. I was curious cause I’ve never had Uzbek food before. It prolly is a family run business, the gentleman who took our order seemed like the one who was preparing the food as well. I like this kind of mom and pop places.

We ordered a beef noodle bowl and a lamb kabab kinda platter: the bowl was really tasty after adding a little bit of lemon juice, before that it felt like sth was missing. The lamb was so damn good ! And after the meal we ordered some “milk tea” that wasn’t on the menu and we were skeptical at first glance but were pleasantly surprised after taking the first sip. It was really refreshing :)“

“This is the best Korean bbq I have ever had! We stumbled upon this place 30 minutes before it closed for the day, and ordered 3 different items on the menu: sweet and spicy chicken, soy and garlic chicken, and beef bulgoki. All three were amazing! I cannot stress how good and flavorful the food was. Highest quality! My only regret is that I didn't have time to go back again. Highly recommend the 3 dishes above and highly recommend having it there instead of bringing it back. Asim(owner) is a very friendly and welcoming guy. All the food is halal! Keep it up!!“

“We've watched videos and only dreamed of trying Uyghur cuisine. But today we actually experienced it and we were excited, amazed and satisfied. The quality of the food at this restaurant was exceptional. The flavors were great and the service was also good.
We literally asked for a spoon to savor the last of the delicious sauce from our lamb stew. Yum!
And the, I think they are called samsas, they were hot and fresh.
We were thoroughly impressed with the freshness of the food even though the food arrived quickly to the table.
We can't wait to visit again:)

Chicken and waffles was amazing- dogs were pretty good- turkey bacon was weak I’d recommend deen brand halal beef bacon as it’s MUCH better especially for hot dogs. Overall would return.“

“This is my go-to Indonesian restaurant whenever I’m in LA. I live in Colorado, but I travel here from time to time for business, and Wayang is always on my list.

The food is delicious and authentic, and I love that Ibu Lily makes most of it herself from scratch. She used to be a private chef for celebrities in Los Angeles, and you can definitely tell she knows her way around the kitchen. Everything I’ve had here has been full of flavor and thoughtfully prepared.

When I visited, Wayang was only taking to-go orders, but they still had a few tables set up for customers who preferred to eat there. It’s a self-serve setup, you grab your own water and utensils and eat from the takeout container. Honestly, I really liked the casual setup. Since the restaurant was set up for to-go service, Ibu Lily let me stay for as long as I wanted, which was perfect since I had a little work to get done. It made the whole experience feel relaxed and unhurried. This way, I had the chance to try several different dishes.

For me, that’s part of the charm of Wayang: authentic Indonesian food, made from scratch, without all the fuss—it feels like home. I’ll definitely be back.“

“This is honestly the best brisket sandwich and burger I have ever had IN MY LIFE!!! And I have had a lot of both! The brisket has more of a pulled pork consistency and it is unreal with that in house slaw and potato bun. Smash style burgers are also my top fave kind of burger and they do it exactly how I would dream of it being done. They are also not your usual slider size. These are the size of a kids meal burger (so to me- that’s normal sized). Not some giant sand which but the perfect size. I would normally be content with just one of these sandwiches but I did the combo so one brisket and one burger and I could not stop eating either one even after the meat sweats set in! I got the fries with no cheese and they were great. So happy to have found this place! Speaking of place: there are no signs. Its inside of urban skillet and there are no signs or menus up in there either so feels like an underground magic spot. I feel like I’m in the know now. Thank you! (Next time I’ll take pics.)“

“I am a fool for not trying out Chef Arango sooner. I live very close, 10 mins or less away. I also moved to the area 4 years ago and only now am I coming here. After this visit I will easily be back and I will be back often.

Chef Arango is comfort food at its finest. The prices are phenomenal, the quantity is bountiful, the food is made fresh with it still being piping hot, and the food is simply yummy. This restaurant and team is like being cooked for by your family. I really don’t know how else to describe this restaurant and team and food. It’s like sitting down for a meal at your mum’s, or auntie’s or ammachi’s (Indian word for “grandma”) home. Simply a delicious, warming, and hearty meal!

I just can’t get over the fact that I paid $22.50 after tax (2026 prices) and got a very filling meal that was amazing tasting, freshly made, and came with loads of meat. I regret not coming sooner even though I’ve passed by hundreds of time. I will try to atone for my sins by coming back as frequently as possible!“

“I'm at a loss for words, but I'll try my best. Food? Amazing! Perfect amount of seasoning and the portions are huge! And this is coming from a big dude. For the appetizers, my favorites were the Kashk E'bademjan (Eggplant Delight), Potato Salad, and the Hummus! They have more selections, but this is what I was able to try. I hear all are great! For the Entrees, ALL OF THEIR KABOBS ARE FIRE (MMM MMMM YUMMY). I had a sample of most them and in the islands, we would say "broke da mouf kine", which translates to, the food is *beep beep* GOOD! If you've never had Persian Food, or you love it, this is the restaurant for you! Drinks? I love Korean Soju and Cass beer, so yeah, +10 points from me. They do carry various Wines and Beers though...and of course your choice of Soda Pop. Atmosphere? It' gives you a Kewl Kids Vibe; a classy place where you can be yourself with family and friends and just enjoy each others company. You have your choice of Indoor and Outdoor dinning which is amazing. There's also a private room upstairs that can hold 20 people for a meal and karaoke (there is a fee to reserve, but very much worth it). Staff? We were greeted at the door as if we were coming home. Pasha and his staff go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met. Their suggestions on meal and drink pairings are spot on. I can't thank Pasha and the crew for making our group outing a success. Overall? I'll be going back and I hope that you add this restaurant to your list of 'go to' places to dine at. You will not be disappointed, I promise you. (Unless your attitude stinks or you're not willing to try new food ‍) Pasha again, thank you so much for the hospitality.
