“Halal House simply is the best for the plates! Chicken over rice and Gyro! I even got two Gyro pita wraps today. Its affordable, quick bite to heat right near CSUN. I also saw that they have burgers! Really good size and taste. This is my go to spot for halal food near Northridge, honestly.😀I“

“Underrated halal spot on the Westside! On the slightly pricier side but portions are generous and service is great! The fried chicken is super tasty and crispy, haven't tried the bulgogi or katsu yet but I'm sure it's just as good.“

“I can’t say enough good things about this place. From the moment you walk in, you notice how spotless everything is — not just tidy, but genuinely clean in a way that makes you instantly comfortable eating there.
The service is just as impressive. Everyone is welcoming, patient, and genuinely kind, not rushed or transactional like a lot of quick spots in LA. You feel taken care of.
And the food? Absolutely incredible. Every bite tastes authentic, fresh, and homemade — like the kind of meal someone’s mom has been perfecting for years. The shawarma is juicy and perfectly seasoned, the gyro meat is tender and flavorful, and all the sides and sauces taste fresh and made in-house. Nothing tastes mass-produced. It’s comforting, satisfying, and full of real flavor.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down to enjoy your meal, this is easily one of the best spots in LA. Fast without feeling like fast food, and delicious enough to crave again the next day. A true gem.“

“The food was delicious! We got the medium heat spice, which was perfect for me. My son wants to try the hotter one next time. The place was very busy so that might be why none of the tables were clean and they were out of ice. But we will still be back because the chicken was that good 👍“

“I had this placed saved on Instagram and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint! We got the chicken kebab plate with extra pita bread. It was so delicious 😋 EVERY bite produced a happy dance. Customer service was great. The girl at the counter was very patient with us. There’s outside seating where we chose to sit and free parking on the side streets. I would’ve given them five stars but the fries were lukewarm. They were seasoned and crispy but warm. I will definitely be back and I can’t wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow.“

“I dined in around 6pm on a Saturday and it was perfect. It’s a small place with a relaxed vibe. The place was empty when I arrived but quickly filled up while I ate my food. I got the garlic naan, the sag paneer, butter chicken and rice. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. The butter chicken was my favorite - incredible spices and I could tell it was cooked on the grill (my favorite cook). The service was fantastic - both servers were so nice and the owner even came to greet us and make sure everything was ok. I would absolutely come back and recommend to a friend.“

“It’s hard to describe how great of a experience it is when you have Nashville Hot Chicken after a long day of work. Do yourself a favor and get the tenders and enjoy the sauce that comes with it. And if you leave a review they give you a cookie. Go there now and enjoy the spicy goodness each tender will give your tastebuds.“

“Baja California Tacos is our go to fish taco spot in LA. Dont be put off by the appearance of this spot, as the fish tacos are among the best we’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong with either their fresh flour or corn tortillas. Their fried fish is always piping hot and crispy and the lettuce and pico are fresh and bright. The crema is perfectly seasoned and adds a satisfying creaminess. Baja California Tacos is comparable to the greats like Kikos and Oscars down in San Diego and more than satisfies the fish taco craving in LA!“

“Absolutely loved our experience at Oliver Pepper! I ordered the shawarma and my boyfriend got the chicken kebab plate—both were incredibly delicious, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. You can truly taste the quality and care put into the food.
The environment was welcoming and comfortable, but what really made the experience special was interacting with the owner and his family. They were so kind, genuine, and made us feel right at home.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, and even better hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!
If you want it shorter or more casual, I can tweak the tone too 😊“

“Hope you’re hungry, because this stand serves absolutely massive baked potatoes slathered in just about anything you want. We had the waygu on one and garlic butter shrimp on the other. Add in a mound of feeeexins (iykyk) and you’ll eat for days. Apparently they’re opening a permanent spot in North Hollywood soon. I’ll be there.“

“Taste of Tehran was my first time eating at a restaurant in Tehrangeles, and it was an awesome choice. This was definitely one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants I've been to in LA. Everything was so great. And yes, I ate a lot of food on the first day here. I started off with some of the stews that included gormeh sabzi, the gheyme, and ash reshteh, which were all very tasty. The surprise hit to me was the Lentil Quinoa Salad. Seriously, one of the best salads I've ever had. It was sweet, refreshing, and savory all at the same time. No words to describe. And then the meats: the koobideh and soltani plate, just fabulous, along with that lentil rice. I can honestly say that Persians make the best rice out of all Middle Eastern countries! Even the barberry rice was amazing. Never had a rice this sweet and fruity before! Overall, an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Don't be fooled by the looks of this place. It looks like a quick, over the counter order type of restaurant, but the food is top notch. Even Anthony Bourdain has been here! I shot a Youtube video of my experience here, which you can see on my Youtube channel, Rockstar Eater.“

“With so many Mexican food restaurants across the valley and on every other street corner, I would put this in my top 10. Good place to bring friends as they also offer non traditional eats as well. Pizza or a Cuban sandwich. yes and they are good too.“

“Just fantastic. Everything was perfect: the staff, the food—just everything. Such an unassuming little place. We had the Chicken & Lulu Kebab and the Gyro Plate. Both meals were superb and really exceeded our expectations . On top of a wonderful meal, the staff really went out of their way to make us happy. We had a wonderful time and really look forward to coming back.“

“Got the chicken Schwarma. Good portion size could split between two.Super friendly service. Family owned.everything seemed and tasted super fresh. More options than usual: two types of Pickled cabbage, crunchy roasted chickpeas, bunch of stuff ya don’t often see. Express jalapeño sauce with the original was very good comboWill come back!“
“Technically a small grocery store with kitchen. Their meat samosas are to-die for. They have goat, beef, chicken, or potato. They also have what we would call baked empanadas and stuffed puff pastry as well, but our family craves the samosas. Kitchen is on-site and also offers typical Northern-India / Pakistani fare that is mostly ordered "to go" and by the "from there" people, so it must be authentic and region-specific. Chutney for sure is - very different from Anarbagh and very spicy hot-and-sour for the average American taste, so be warned. Everything except samosas/empanadas/pastry is cooked to order - no hot lamps there.“

“As a tourist visiting Los Angeles all the way from India, I wanted to explore some authentic South Asian flavors—and Tawakull Tandoori absolutely blew me away! From the moment I walked in, the warm hospitality made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with the aroma of fresh spices welcoming you in like an old friend.
I ordered the Chicken Biryani, a Lamb Karahi, and of course, some fresh garlic naan—and every bite was bursting with flavor. The tandoori meats are perfectly marinated and cooked to juicy perfection. The spice level was just right, and you can tell everything is made fresh with real love and tradition behind it.
The staff were so friendly and attentive, even offering great suggestions for what to try as a first-timer. I also tried the mango lassi, which was the perfect refreshing finish to an already fantastic meal.
If you're in LA and craving rich, flavorful, and authentic Pakistani food, Tawakul Tandoori is a must-visit. I honestly wish I had discovered this place sooner on my trip—I'll definitely be back next time I’m in town!
Highly recommend—5 stars all the way! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“Small kitchen serving authentic persian food. Owner makes the food himself. It is a take away place. No dine in. The food is very authentic and generous amount. Would definitely recommend if you want to try Persian food specially if it's for a group of people. Would try again.“
“The market is a very pleasant place to be on a Saturday the fruit corner is very good and I buy my best Fuji apples there and best tangerines and peaches. I enjoy the experience a lot. There is a place for kids to run and play and comfortable tables to have a delicious meal bought at the market. I recommend the coffee there too and the bread. Enjoy the experience.“
