“Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!“

“My Daughter & I had dinner here tonight… the food was PHENOMENAL!!! Great Friendly Service too!! What a treat to sit at the bar & watch everything looking delicious coming out of the kitchen window!!! Thank you for such a great Saturday night treat for an out of town Momma visiting her daughter!! “We had the Bambino house pasta dish [ delicious we ordered this for our women's retreat, for 80 women; Pescador pasta; seafood pasta; pesto sandwich with side of cold Pasta salad [ we also ordered this for our retreat for our lunch, for 80 women], avocado salad. Their avocado salad is a must try as well as the other dishes. Their sauces are light n delicious. Extraordinary place to have a family evening out. They go out of their way to make you comfortable. 5 ? familt restaurant.

“Had to stop by my favorite Italian grubbin in the heart of Old Town Pasadena all the way from Boise. This was my 3rd time and each time just keeps getting better; definitely the bigger the party, the better. We paid $225 for 4 pasta entrees, 3 appetizers, & 2 glasses of wine for a party of 6. I’ve learned to like my pastas al dente after having them here. The meatballs are banging, the wine-pairing was delightful. Our service was attentive and pleasant; the vibe is always vibrant and homey. Highly recommended.“

“Incredible atmosphere, excellent service. We sat at the window bar looking out into the street and it felt so inviting and wholesome. An experience I feel is rare among LA restaurants. The caprese was amazing, deliciously simple and decadent, and with the pesto on top . I had the mushroom carbonara and my wife had the caccio e pepe, both of which I can reccomend wholeheartedly. Also on thursdays there's a farmers market right across the street. Had a great time and we're excited to go back and try more of their menu. Shoutout to our waiter what a chiller.“

“Absolutely love this place. The food was excellent! For appetizers we had the meatballs and bruschetta. For the main dishes we had the vongole, chicken Parmigiano, kids' spaghetti and meatballs and kids' chicken fettuccine Alfredo. For dessert we had the cheesecake. Everything was so delicious! In addition, the staff Ronie and Santos were so kind, professional, friendly and attentive. Thank you for making this experience phenomenal.“

“Good food and decent service. I had Alfredo which was a tad bland but still tasty. Boneless wings were good, wraps and chicken parm were all above average. Drinks were mostly timely and good. Tvs in every view made watching football easy. Parking was tough but we expected that.“

“Everything about our experience was great! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The menu offered a nice selection of choices. We ordered the lunch special and it was delicious. Beautiful presentation, and in my opinion, we were served a lovely amount of food for a “special.” The service was very good. We do not live in the area but I would definitely make the field trip to eat here again…and bring my friends!“

“I haven't been to an olive garden in years. We ordered fried mozzarella. My entrée was really good. Eggplant parmesan was light and not over breaded with just enough marinara on top. I was able to switch out the spaghetti for fettuccine alfredo. I ordered an Italian margarita it was citrusy and served with amaretto. The only disappointment was the salad... I had to pick out so many white parts and hearts of lettuce. It seemed as if I got the last part of the day ends of greens. Our server was efficient and quick.“

“Owner Operator Jose A Portillo has a gem of an Italian restaurant in Baldwin Park. Stopped in early on a Friday for some dinners to-go. My elderly parents are mostly homebound and they are very fond of this little eatery. I was deeply impressed with the service and attention from Jose himself during our visit. And this was for to-go orders. We got two orders of La Pescadori and a meatball sandwich. The dishes were spectacular and the care and love from El Appetiz was world class.“

“This location is always busy. I usually come here before 5 p m Because I hate waiting in line. Regardless if I get lucky or not, the food here never disappoints. Endless salad and breadsticks. Good meatball and shrimp appetizer is fantastic. The pasta plates large enough to always have leftovers at home and service is fast. My new favorite drink is the apple sangria, soooo good. It's made from Moscato and is nice take on the bitter normal sangria.
Parking: This location is in the Montebello mall lot.

“I have been going to this place for years and the food has always been good! Both the pizzas and the salads are absolutely delicious! However if you like a good salad they really know what they're doing at this place! There's one with candy pecans and Gorgonzola that's out of this world! The atmosphere is a bit lacking it's more of a place for pickup, but it's comfortable enough for a quick bite.“
