“First time for me coming here and now I’m hooked. Delightful food, absolutely love the grilled chicken, the plantains and mac & cheese! The seasoning is so good and the chicken is so tasty and not dry at all. I used to be an el pollo loco fan, but now I am a fan of Pollo Campero!!! Their grilled chicken is fire!! I’m going again today.“
“The restaurant was very busy when we arrived and understaffed. So, there was a long wait at the unmanned hostess stand. The waiters were pleasant but frantic and initially not attentive until the bulk of the patrons departed and the restaurant slowed down. From that point on the service was good. The food was overall excellent and portion sizes large. Would go again but at a slower time just to be sure.“
“Jonny was our server the first time my friend & i came here and did not disappoint. We've been coming here for margarita Mondays and we always have a great time! Jonny always exceeds our expectations. The one thing I have a complaint about is the music. it's what's the same thing over and over again. we've tried to make suggestions but it's always the same music.. other than that Kalaveras is great.“
“I am a foodie reviewer(ig:jwardhooper22)..We were here for my wife’s birthday dinner. The restaurant was very beautiful and clean on the inside and they had a huge patio with a big covering over it and there is basically no door to the restaurant you just walked through the patio. I thought that was pretty cool. It’s in a good area in space. The lighting is very intimate and dark so taking food pictures, you will definitely need a light. I ordered my food, I think it was the big chicken plate, and it came out in three minutes and that was odd because That is way too soon. The food was warm and the chicken bone at the end was cold. So they gave me a plate that was just sitting there. I still ate it because I’m not the type of person that will take back meals. But for future references please make sure you make food fresh for your customers.other than that, the whole experience was really good and the staff was really nice and professional. “We had wonderful cocktails although were tempted by the mezcal flights. Food was outstanding including the best chile relleno ever - not sure how they get the outside so crispy and delicious. The atmosphere was lively but also charming and romantic. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Great vibe.“
“Being half Cuban, I'm always looking for food that will bring me back to my childhood. This place has it all.Been here many times and have tried different items each time. The empanadas are a great way to start your meal. Fried and full of flavor, you can't go wrong with them. The spinach and cheese are my favorite. Bistec de pollo, milanesa with eggs, and their fantastic black beans and rice are all simply amazing.Order a Malta to drink with your food and you'll have experienced a true, Cuban, meal.“
“This place was reservations out that night but they made room for me at the bar. Service was really good and friendly. You must get the tots. I ate it even before taking a pic. ?. The red sauce for enchilada was really excellent. Ohh. And the fluffy Mexican rice is bomb. And they make the tortillas fresh. I have “
“I used to live not too far from this location. Hands down, some of the best carne asada in Orange County. However, I recently went there yesterday to buy carne asada on the way to the beach and holy $&/! $16.99/lb for their Carne Asada?? That is just obscene. I still bought it because I don't know anywhere else to go as I was already driving through that area on my way to Huntington. It's great Carne, but I give it 4 stars because there pricing is just too high. Probably won't be coming back here because I moved away and I rather spend time looking local for a more affordable option.“
“- Great platanos; nachos were good (the guac could be better/real); and sampler was good too.- Only constructive criticism would be to liven up the inside interior (outside of a wall painting and angel-wings banner, it's rather plain and boring).- Definitely worth a visit. My Dominican lady loved it and felt it was authentic (mofongo) as you can get out here on the West Coast.“
“They were catering a wedding I attended and it was so good I asked them about possibly catering for my upcoming work function. They were so easy to work with. They tailored their program to meet our needs. They were on time and items were executed as discussed. Working with them was so far the best outcome out of all of our past experiences. I would definitely recommend reaching out and seeing if they can create what you are looking for. Their food program is on point and I wish I had easier access to them on a more regular basis. They are a gem for sure!“
“Alberto took care of us, he was very friendly and upbeat. Prompt, knowledgeable and made our experience that much better. Very busy because of the movie theater and improv across the street. Noise level is a little up there but, I really think it just added to the positive vibe that you feel right when you walk in. Had a great time honestly.“
“This place has the best Mexican food in town from tacos sopes mariscos shrimp in green Chile a la diabla costa azul etc etc the prices are very very reasonable. Bring cash because they don't accept credit card. They sell beer too. The waitresses are so nice there too. You will love this place.“
“Didnt get a chance to enjoy any food delights for myself, but those that did were happy woth the taste and presentation. Pur group visited on xmas weekend and the place wasnt hustling and bustling, as expected on a holiday weekend. The place oozes a modern, hip, and trendy ambiance. Good music was playing, which luckily was not overly loud. The drinks, the shots, the cocktails were all potent and delicious ?. The decor and musical environment was intoxicating, and yet - relaxing. Staff and the owner were friendly, inviting, and outgoing. Parking is ample, and moderately busy. The light show inside was also mesmerizing, yet so calm . Great for a quick bar visit, for a quick meet up and possibly for a second or third date opportunity. A strong 4 score.Only suggestion, small ambiente lighting at the table would be welcomed and a cultural variety in music ...“
“Tried the Buenos Box Loaded Quesadilla, the Buenos Box Grilled Cheese box, the Churros with Ube sauce, and the Ube Chata.Let me start with the good:The birria quesadilla and birria grilled cheese were amazing! I'm not much of a birria fan, so hopefully that's saying something. The meat was suave and easy to eat, almost like you could just drink it lol. The tortilla for the quesadilla had a subtle soft crunch and was flavorful. The grilled cheese tasted like a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. And the bread was really flavorful. It was unexpected! You can't go wrong with either of these choices.Churros with Ube sauce. I wanted the option with ice cream, but they didn't have any. You can't really go wrong with churros. The Ube sauce is lightly sweetened. It was a nice dessert. The ambience is great. The store is very colorful and they play a nice variety of music. The tables and chairs aren't really user friendly though. The not so good: The street corn side was not so good. They need to put more of the toppings and mix it well. I just had corn with juices at the bottom. Didn't even finish it after it got cold. The nachos were alright. The cheese sauce or whatever they put on it needs more flavor, and the chips seem really light on salt. The birria and other toppings were good though. The verde or green sauce needs more flavor. Usually it has more a citrus kick and slightly spicier. It was alright. I did end up mixing it with the leftover nacho cheese sauce and using it for the quesadillas. Huge horchata fan here. Ube Chata tasted like Froot Loops. Didn't like it too much. Maybe add more horchata?I went on two different days for these orders. The service was fast, but the cashier didn't seem like he wanted to be there.“
