“This is my quick go to neighborhood spot. I wish they had salads and soups, though. I got the bento box for the first time and it was pretty filling. I have enough for the next day! We also ordered fried shrimp balls with corn and shrimp with scallion dumplings. Yum 🤤“

“We order to go from here all the time. The dimsum is authentic and the best you can do on the west side. Good portion sizes. We've never dined in but they do have a dining room and the experience is as you would expect from a small mom and pop outfit.“

“What an awesome little restaurant that popped up here. Was looking to try something new and found this amazing little bao spot. The most amazing thing is how they fry these bao. The bottom is hard and crunchy and the top is soft, making a soup filled bao in either seafood, curry or the standard pork. They sell them in quantities of 6 and 2 to 3 is enough to fill me! Highly recommend a quick lunch or dinner here, you won’t be disappointed in the authentic flavors.“

“A hidden gem: this small, un-flashy restaurant is in a weirdly-shaped traffic-island/mini-mall in the worst intersection in the world (Fairfax/Olympic/SanVicente), next to a Dunkin's and a liquor store. But the food is unreal: everything I've tried there is pitch-perfect, from the wide variety of dumplings to the salads, noodles, and fried foods. Our family includes two foodie adults, an increasingly adventurous 11-year-old, and a very unadventurous 4-year-old, and this is one of the few places that all four of us absolutely love. Particular favorites include the soup dumplings, potstickers, popcorn shrimp, chow mein, pork buns, and napa cabbage salad, but really everything is good. The noodles have that smoky wok hei flavor, the dumplings are perfectly balanced and textured, even the popcorn shrimp and chicken are expertly seasoned and fried. The space is basic but pleasant and calm. The owners are friendly and helpful, but in a subtle and quiet way, they're not going to hover over your table and make lots of small talk. They've been very patient with our younger kid, who can be kind of noisy. We love this place; it's much better than some of the flashier and more expensive places in the west 3rd st. area a few blocks north.“

“I sampled their famous xiao long bao, delicious dumplings, savory fried rice and garlic string beans. Each dish was a taste experience, from the delicious dumplings in broth to the perfectly seasoned fried rice. The service is great and the atmosphere is inviting. Don't miss this place for authentic Taiwanese cuisine and unforgettable flavors. It has the taste of home.“

“I haven't been able to try this restaurant since it reopened and I had just the time to do so today. All the dim sum was great, just no BBQ pork buns 😂. The dumplings were thin skinned and tender and tasted similar to what I had in China and the waiters were friendly!“

“Had takeout as an employee luncheon, and they got everything spot on. Food was perfectly packed and super delicious. The fried rice is very tasty and had a good texture just how I like it. Chow mein was very tasty as well. We will definitely order from here again.“

“Handmade with love. Tastes as if I'm at my Halmoni's house. Delicate, real and subtle Korean flavors of my childhood, not too sweet or salty. My bf and I ordered the steamed veggie dumplings, chive pancake ((better than my Sumo's! Shhh)), king sized veggie dumplings, side of rice and miso soup. Cooked to order -- be patient. Soft textures. Sweet, hardworking couple. Our fav is the steamed veggie mandu. Vegetarian friendly. Perfect meal. ❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶 I love this place, if I lived in LA I'd be here all the time.“

“The quick serve restaurant is clean and the staff were friendly. This is a self serve restaurant. You have to place your order on a tablet, there is no real description listed. The food came out quickly. I ordered shrimp dumplings and they were basic. They were served plain. I probably would not return based on this experience.“

“From the moment I walked in, I knew this place was going to be special. The cozy ambiance set the mood, and the staff greeted me with genuine smiles.
I ordered the Asado siopao and beef wonton, and wow both were bursting with flavor. The siopao was fluffy with a delicious filling, and the beef wontons were rich, tender, and comforting. I was so excited to try them, I didn’t even stop to take a photo!
Great food, great service, great vibes. What more can you ask for?!“

A Must‑Visit Spot for Authentic Chinese Comfort Food!
I’ve been to many Chinese restaurants, but this place truly stands out. Their orange chicken is to‑die‑for—crispy, perfectly glazed, and bursting with that sweet‑tangy flavor that keeps you coming back for more. The green beans are equally impressive: fresh, crisp, and tossed in a savory sauce that balances the dish beautifully.
Beyond the food, the staff deserve a shout‑out. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about delivering a great dining experience. You can tell they take pride in their work, which adds an extra layer of warmth to the already inviting atmosphere.
The vibe feels authentically Chinese, from the subtle décor touches to the background music that transports you straight to a bustling street market. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and authenticity, making it an ideal spot for both quick lunches and relaxed dinner gatherings.
If you’re craving top‑notch Chinese cuisine with stellar service and an authentic ambiance, look no further—this restaurant is the real deal!“

“This place is absolutely delicious. The food is fresh and tasty. The fried rice is tasty and so is the orange chicken, which is soft and tender. Noodles were a little little oily but that's okay because they are super tasty. My lady and I really enjoyed our dinner. Thank you!“

“The food is really good, the Beef Chow Mein with Black pepper sauce is delicious. The soup dumplings do not disappoint, just the right amount of soupy goodness. The service is great, but the atmosphere could use some help, I did come in on a Tuesday night.“

“Five years ago, on a rainy afternoon in Los Angeles - the kind that sneaks into your shoes and makes umbrellas feel hilariously inadequate - my partner and I had just finished errands at a local bank in Studio City. The streets gleamed under a stubborn drizzle, and, hungry and thoroughly soaked, we went searching for shelter. We slipped into the nearby Green Apple China Bistro, like two weary ships at last finding safe harbor in a gentle sea of rain.\n\nWarmth wrapped around us instantly - the fragrant swirl of ginger, garlic, and sizzling woks felt like a hug from the universe. We plopped into a booth by the window, watching raindrops perform races down the glass as the city blurred into watery streaks.\n\nSoon, a parade of treasures arrived. New York‑style egg rolls - crisp and steaming, their golden shells crackling softly as we picked them up, stuffed with a savory mix of cabbage, celery, pork, and shrimp. Each bite released a warm, fragrant hug of flavors, perfectly balanced with a playful drizzle of sweet-and-sour plum sauce that danced across the tongue like a tiny celebration.\n\nTwo‑Flavor Shrimp - plump, succulent shrimp artfully arranged on a divided plate, dressed in two contrasting sauces: one savory with gentle warmth, the other bright, sweet, and tangy. Though distinct, the sauces came together to form a harmonious whole, balancing and elevating each bite. Caramelized walnuts added a delicate, nutty crunch, completing a sophisticated interplay of textures and flavors. Bold yet refined, this dish transformed every forkful into a memorable culinary journey.\n\nThe Pineapple Curry Fried Rice - tender chicken and succulent shrimp intertwined with crisp peas, sweet carrots, scallions, and delicate white onions, all embraced by fragrant, golden fried rice. Juicy pineapple added a luminous, tropical sweetness, while toasted cashews lent a subtle, nutty crunch. Infused with a gentle, aromatic curry spice, each bite unfolded layers of savory warmth and textural harmony - a refined, vibrant reinterpretation of a classic fried rice..., adding a cheerful tropical wink to the otherwise gray day.\n\nEach bite was a tiny rebellion against the rain, a delicious incantation that chased away the chill. The hum of conversation, the clatter of dishes, and the attentive staff made the dreary afternoon feel like an unexpected adventure in a hidden, enchanted corner of the city.\n\nWhen we stepped back into the drizzle, we carried more than satisfied appetites - we carried a pocket of warmth, laughter, and a whisper of magic that danced in the air well beyond the last drop of rain.\n\nNowadays, even five years later, we return to the Green Apple China Bistro with eager anticipation. Since I have no favorites and treasure the thrill of discovery, I select different dishes each time, delighting in the unexpected. Every plate, vibrant in flavor, texture, and aroma, holds a small surprise, turning each meal into an exquisite, ever-changing culinary journey. Each visit leaves a lingering impression long after the last taste - a tiny spark of enchantment waiting to be discovered anew.\n\nMaria E.\nCertified Sommelier & Cordon Bleu Chef | International Food Expert\nPresident of a Gourmet Food Company\n‘Bringing exceptional flavors to life’“
