“As some other reviewers I knew this place from youtube and was glad I went here when visiting LA. The quality of the food and the friendly staff are top notch. We tried steak, chicken and falafel tacos as well as quesadillas. All were great with the chicken tacos being my favorite. I truly loved the variety of flavors you get with every single bite. It was so good that we ordered some more tacos on our way out, as a snack on our road trip.
The obvious downside is the location in a bit of a sketchy area, but I assume that can hardly be avoided in LA.“

“✨✨SHOW STOPPER ✨✨
✨EXPLOSION OF FLAVOR ✨
WOW!!! This was our first stop coming into town and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! The second the first bite of Alex’s incredible burrito and street tacos hit my mouth there was no going back. His ability to create such incredible flavors in not only the burrito itself, but all of the add ons and sauces as well is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Would go again, again, AND AGAIN! 😋 Not to mention Alex’s ability to make you feel at ease and have a great time in such a comfortable setting.
If you don’t stop here, you must not like top notch culinary delights and authentic experiences 😊🔥🌯🌮“

“The soft shell crab taco was stupendous. One of the best things I've eaten this month. Unique, flavorful, absolute must have.
The Baja style fish taco was fine, but not nearly on the same level.
One taco was around $7, which is more of a gourmet price. But I would happily pay that for the soft shell crab taco.
Service was very impersonal. Nobody greeted me. Not a single word of hi/hola, thank you, goodbye. Nothing. You just enter your name and order on a tablet. A few moments later somebody looks and gestures at you to take your food. Sitting situation is not great. But it's a fast casual bite, so you're not there for a long time. FYI - this is a food truck and not a brick and mortar space.
I would go out of my way to eat the soft shell crab taco again. Wow, I'm still thinking about it.“

“K Pasa is just what the neighborhood needed. The vibes are great, the food is fast, the food is delicious and the price point is right. They have a variety of free sauces to throw in too! I’m a neighborhood regular :)
Parking: Parking is paid at the meters and free on side streets but be aware that parking in K town is always a challenge.
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access.“

“The Mog Champ sends his regards.
My spree of meals in the market continue with Tacos Tumbras! We ordered their all meat burritos with a Jamaica and Tamarindo. The portion and filling on them burritos is absolutely generous and delicious.
The service was quick and friendly, their drinks were also very refreshing. They're definitely worth it to stop by if you're in the area for a burrito! Thanks for the breakfast Tacos Tumbras!

“So glad my daughter and I stopped here. We each had breakfast burritos and they were excellent. Not only delicious, but big. We both tried the hot salsa and liked it. The atmosphere was very inviting. The service was the best I've received in a very long time. The server was very attentive and sweet. The cook came out and asked if we were enjoying our meal. He was interested in our feedback. We both decided we would be back even though we don't live in the area. It was definitely worth the effort of finding parking. Don't pass this place up
PS, the cook let us try the birria. That's what I'm ordering next time. Yum“

“These tacos hit the spot! We usually get asada, pastor, carnitas, and suedero but want to try the cueritos next time. Love that they use homemade tortillas! The guy taking orders even recognized us from the last time we were there and hooked it up with all the salsas and sides. Can’t wait to come back again soon! Thank you!“

“The OG goat! Definition of hole in the wall but far from a dive. Delicious and affordable burritos. Can’t beat this combo right here. Spicy salsa and a weekly raffle to win more burritos.
Street parking and take out only but you can find plenty of spots down the block to sit and eat at. I tend to grab a burrito then a latte at Black Elephant to chill at their patio.
The hood may be gentrifying but we keeping this place right where it is!“

“Great tacos- super tasty, good price, has every side/ addition you could want. there’s even music playing. Has an organized ordering line and the chefs and staff were very friendly and attentive. So happy I ran into this walking to Vons. Has a few stools to sit on if you want to eat there. A table or two would be nice since gets pretty crowded but eating on the parking barrier on the side of the road w everyone still a vibe you know“

“Most of the tacos were very good and service was excellent. The carne asada, carnitas, and chorizo were pretty dry but had decent flavor. But the standouts were the al pastor, cabeza, and the brisket. They were all super tender and flavorful.“

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the prices were great as well. :) Wish we had places like these in Chicago, but so happy to experience tacos in the most delicious ways!! “Holy moly, my new favorite taco spot. Been meaning to try them for ages, and was finally hungry enough on my way home from the cinematheque. Here’s to extraordinary art house cinema followed by extraordinary tacos.
The Al Pastor was ON POINT. It’s rare to find authentic pastor outside of DF and this is IT. As I sat by the parking lot, getting an accidental whiff of gasoline, it was almost like being back in El Defectuoso!!! Carnitas was good too, but the moist kind, rather than the crispy kind I truly love. But the meat was PILED HIGH on both tacos and the salsa bar ample and luscious. Avocado salsa!!! Don’t walk, run.“

“Way better tacos than Leo's tacos. Their chicken tacos were so well marinated and juicy. Their salsas were so flavorful and they were very kind. Please take care of my people here and tip them extra so they stick around for a long time. Oh, and the pastor was dangerously delicious as well. Highly recommend ??“

“HomeState delivers a Tex-Mex experience that’s nothing short of spectacular. The quesadilla, a golden masterpiece of melty cheese and perfectly griddled tortilla, strikes an ideal balance of comfort and flavor, substantial yet never heavy. Four distinct tacos showcased a vibrant range of fillings, each one a testament to HomeState’s mastery of Texas-inspired cuisine. From smoky brisket to bright, zesty chicken and beef options, every taco bursts with bold, authentic flavors, wrapped in warm, pillowy tortillas that elevate the experience to something truly special. House-made salsas add layers of complexity, making each bite a revelation.
The freshly squeezed lemonade proves the perfect partner, its crisp, not-too-sweet brightness cutting through the richness of the meal with refreshing finesse. HomeState’s atmosphere radiates warmth and Austin charm, blending a laid-back vibe with a welcoming energy. Staff move with efficiency and genuine friendliness, ensuring every dish arrives hot and fresh. Other reviews often highlight the breakfast tacos and migas as must-tries, and while those weren’t on the plate this time, the menu’s depth promises more delicious adventures on the next visit.“

“These are hands down the best tacos I’ve had in LA. And I’ve had a lot of tacos in the country. Plus for the price (2 bucks a taco), you can’t beat eating this stuff. Highly recommend for any locals of the areas. We got the chicken, pastor, and asada. All a recommend, and you can load up on your own toppings, def get the onions and jalapeño if you love spice.“

“I love this place. The food is delish, made with care in their little pop up tent & the prices can't be beat so it's easy to leave them a great tip, which they totally deserve. The pastor & asada are both so excellent that i always want them & haven't tried anything else I like things spicy & they don't scrimp on the heat.??“

“By far and beyond the best food I've had in my life. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, I trust anything that comes off of their grill. Filling, flavorful, creative. Its the type of food that make you feel a warm glow from inside. The owners are kind and funny, they genuinely care about their customers. Everything is homemade and worth stopping by 3 times a week. “When I worked in downtown, our office would often order lunch from the now closed 6th Street location but I had eaten at and still do check out the still open food court spot at 7th and Fig. The one nice thing about that particular location is the option to eat in the courtyard. But the interior food court is clean, well-laid out and pleasant enough for lunch.
The food is uniformly good and prepared to order. A much better spot than any Chipotle.
Vegetarian options: Limited as with most places that cater to meat eaters but plenty for your vegetarian in a group. However, there are better options for the single or small group (2-3 people).
Dietary restrictions: They prepare to order so easy to ask them to minimize spice or cilantro or otherwise handle the simple stuff.
Parking: While not a destination, for people visiting the convention center or former Staples arena, who want to grab a bite AND avoid the overpriced tourist traps at LA Live, this is a good option.
Kid-friendliness: Very
Wheelchair accessibility: Very, although elevator is slow and for people with walkers or canes, the escalators have been down of late.“

“Great asada and al pastor tacos!! Friendly service. Went on a Wednesday around 1pm. 3 people had already ordered ahead of me and 3 people ordered right after me, so I felt good about the truck having plenty of customers.
I'd had asada tacos at Baja for $1.50 each on Tuesday and was curious to see how they compared.
This place won by a landslide. I ordered 2 asada and 2 al pastor tacos. The tacos still only cost $2.50 each and all sorts of meats. The pickled carrot, onion, and jalapenos were ? as were the grilled onions and chile. Green sauce better than Baja as well!! Also came with 2 generous lime wedges, radish, cucumber, and some corn chips.
Flavor of tacos was good but everything else on the plate is what made it phenomenal. All the flavors combined ??
Definitely try this place. I had to wait maybe 10-15 minutes after ordering, but it was worth it. You can tell he cooks with love and passion.“

“It is my favorite place to get some tacos and quesadillas "gringas." The food comes with salsa, guacamole, cilantro, and onions. The tacos and corn quesadilla tortillas are made by hand at the moment you order. The tortas and quesadillas gringas are store bought bread and tortillas. They also have sides of bean soup if you want them. Two people can easily eat with around $20.“
