“Cool local sandwich you that we happened to discover with nice staff. Was surprised that a sandwich spot like this existed with a really cool old general store theme. We ordered a Frankenstein sandwich with a side of either chips or seasoned carrots and cucumber which was great and some other turkey sandwich I already forgot what it was called but it was ok. “Few weeks ago I was working nearby and after working few hours we must treat ourselves with a nice meal, and consulting with Google maps I decided to try this spot. I know deli places are famous for the sandwiches but I decided to try a burger and I totally made a great choice, the burger was absolutely delicious, and the best part was that I could choose either French fries or from the salad bar, seen the freshness of salads I decided to had my burger with salad, I had artichokes and tomatoes, they were so delicious that the next day I had to go again for lunch, and the 3rd time myself and another 2 coworker ate from this place , they loved it. Personally I loved that tasty burger with salad, if one day I'm around I hope that day comes soon I'll definitely have to try a sandwich. The place has enough room to enjoy a nice meal prepared at the moment, or either to go, the workers are super friendly and they also have a section of cold drinks. “We love Fat Sal's.
We go there for smash burgers mostly. I definitely haven't eaten every one, but of all the smash burgers I've had all over the city, Fat Sal's is to me the best. Lacey and crispy around the edge, American cheese as God intended on a smashburger, good bun and you can add lettuce and tomato if you want. Sometimes we'll get a loaded side of fries as well. The menu is full of delicious sounding, but a little over the top combinations of things piled up on a smashburger or a sandwich. I'd love to try them, but the regular smashburger is so delicious. They have a pastrami smashburger on the menu, but it has chicken tenders and a bunch of other stuff on it as well. I don't want all of that, I want a smashburger with griddled pastrami added to it, maybe some Swiss. The regular smashburger, maybe with an extra Patty added is the go-to for both of us.
The staff working there all knows and recognizes us. They're very friendly, and very customer service oriented. They always want to make sure we have everything we need and that we're taken care of, they'll swing by the counter where we're eating to see if we need any more ketchup, napkins, etc. It's really next-level service for this kind of a fast casual. Lots of TVs up high on the walls showing whatever sports is on, plus a Fat Sal's Venice Beach skater video running on a loop. Recommend if you like a delicious smashburger in a cool low-key environment with great service. And who doesn't?“
