“You can tell it’s an older hotel but the rooms are updated and well kept. Very spacious and clean. A good service crew here. They take the time to clean and fit your room every day while staying. Very nice and detailed communication as well. Will be staying a while.“

“Tonight, we stopped by Oak & Violet to catch the live music. Ken, an acoustic guitarist and singer, performed, and his voice and guitar skills were fantastic. We liked him so much we asked for his business card for private events.
We were impressed by the ambiance, and had a great evening enjoying cocktails, wine, and appetizers. The service was excellent, and the patio ambiance was cozy.
While street parking is limited, the restaurant, located inside a hotel, offers free valet parking for two hours, with a $10 charge after that and additional fees for overnight guests.
We’ll definitely be returning for more live music!“

“I was in Newark heading to a client meeting and decided to stop by this spot. It has an old-school vibe but a great atmosphere. The place is run by an all-women team, and they recommended the Beacon Cheeseburger. I'm glad they did! The burger was cooked perfectly, as was the bacon, and the bread was just the right texture. If you're in the area and craving a good burger, this is definitely the place to go.
Parking: It wasn't too packed when I arrived and there were plenty of parking spots outside including the street.“

“Original. . . there's none like it. . . food is fire or should I say Kamehameha ? curly fries look a little overwhelming but they are on point. Not just another add add Sriracha mayo on everything kind of place. Truthfully original. . . . have order more than 5 times from this place. . . .every time. . .ON POINT!!“

“I have been a loyal customer since the establishment opened. It is one of my preferred dining establishments in the Bay Area. The food is quite satisfactory, but it fluctuates. It is imperative to note that they do not have air conditioning during the hot summer months. It is hoped that this issue will be resolved by the forthcoming summer. It is crucial to book a large group's table. This establishment is somewhat expensive, so it is advisable to be prepared. With some of the dishes, the portions are quite small, such as their fried calamari, but they are quite tasty. Highly recommend! So give it a shot!“

“Beautiful location and good food. Chicken pesto sandwich is very tasty and filling. Avocado toast was good too. Pomegranate iced tea was just fine.
Great views pf the golf course. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Service was good.
Only complaint- they included 20% service charge for breakfast for two people in the bill. It was not mentioned anywhere and felt unfair. Otherwise its all good.“

“Kinda my favorite place til recently. Waiter F’d blamed me. 4 dined, we gave our order. 1 person changed their order, so 3 meals ended up being the same, then there was mine. They ended changing my order instead of the other person, he argued with me until he realized he messed up, never said sorry, and then still got my order wrong by cook my salmon well instead of veggies, which they forgot to add, but I paid anyways, to go.“

“Do not be dissuaded by the fact that this place is called the BRITISH Bankers Club. The food and drinks are excellent!
Shout-out to Min for being an incredible server who was wonderful in helping us select awesome items off the menus. Highly recommend trying the cocktail with the coconut cookie, black sesame on the rim, and tea ( it's new and on the seasonal drinks or daily deposits menu ). Honestly delicious and very unique.
Also shoutouts to the chef who cooked the chicken of the chicken tikka masala dish. This is the best cooked chicken I have had in a long while, perfectly tender and juicy and flavorful.“

“I love this restaurant!! This place is probably my favorite restaurant I've ever been to. They have so many options and everything on the menu is delicious! Their vegan pies are amazing!! They have an extensive brunch menu with the flexibility of adding a pancake or french toast side dish to your order. I love sweet and savory for brunch but I can never finish those huge breakfasts so this place is perfect for me!! On top of that the cafe is so cute and the staff is so friendly. I loved it so much I went twice during my one week stay!“

“I've been coming to this venue since July and don't have anything but great things to say about the great food & excellent service of the Manager, Susan and her staff who are always helpful. When I make reservation, Susan is very accommodating and pleasant.“
“The Porta Blu, breakfast special had beautiful sourdough bread and the fingerling potatoes were purple, which was very unique. The servers work very hard and took good care of me. Please don’t complain about the 20% gratuity because it’s the least we could do for people that work so hard.“
“After a long day flying into Oakland from the east coast in December with bad weather, we arrived frazzled & tired but ok. Since we were on east coast time, we just wanted to eat & go to bed. Michael, a front desk attendant, gave us outstanding customer service - the best we have ever seen from a front desk staff. He went out of his way for us as they tried to help us figure out a way to get to Lake Tahoe in between blizzards. There was also a female front desk clerk who was helping also but I forgot her name. He went above and beyond to make our stay. Thank you, Michael. Room was your typical Courtyard. It is an older hotel & definitely needs an upgrade. Good local owned restaurant next door. Right off the interstate 580 & about 20-25 minutes’ drive to Oakland airport without traffic. Cons: Hotel charges for parking. Not sure if they have problems in the area, but it seemed to be safe. It seemed strange to pay for parking for a hotel in the suburbs. “M Grill was delicious and it was my first time trying the restaurant for dinner last night. My favorite plate was the Garlic Chicken Thigh. The garlic chicken was tendor and full of flavor. Their house special Bottom Sirloin was also amazing; I definitely wouldn't suggest passing up on this. Even though I felt like the same meats were consistently coming around at times, a definitely started to see a bigger variation at the end. During COVID, they have a nice patio set up out back. There is seating directly in the patio or right outside of it. There are also heaters to keep you warm. I'd totally recommend visiting M Grill; I'm sure I'll be back.“
