“We came in on a Friday around 1:30pm for lunch as my wife wanted Ramen and she has not been to Cherry Blossom before. My son and I came when they first opened a few years back. I never really came back because the food was just mediocre to me. We came here for ramen so my wife can try it and they are closer to my house.
Food (3.5/5 stars):
- Ramen: both the Tonkatsu and the Black Garlic Ramen both had tasty broth, but I had better elsewhere. They did have a decent variety of toppings compared to the other ramen place in town. The medium boiled egg was just that. The other place in town gives a soy sauce roasted egg which is much tastier. Overall, their ramen is good and recommended.
- Bento Box: both bento boxes we got was just fair. The portions are decent for the chicken katsu with tempura, but the teriyaki chicken with the CA roll was a little chintzy (only 4 small pieces of CA roll. Other places give 6 pieces). The CA roll was nothing to write home about, just bland. The dipping sauce for the chicken katsu was just ok, could be more flavorful. The miso soup that came with the bento boxes could be more flavorful, but decent and had some tofu and seaweed. The salad dressing was a sesame based dressing and was pretty good, but could benefit from a little bit more.
- Ika Geso (deep fried squid tentacles): flavorful batter, crispy and not too thick. The dipping sauce was just a basic sriracha mayo, so nothing impressive. I chose to just eat it without dipping in the sauce.
Service/Ambiance (4.5/5 stars): the wait staff were very attentive and the food came out quickly. A little after 2pm, they came by all the tables to announce the last call for the kitchen as they close at 2:30pm and reopen at 4:30pm Monday-Saturday. It's not a big place, so it is best for parties of 2-4 people, but they can accommodate a slightly larger party at the back of the restaurant.
Overall, great service, I would come back for the ramen, but there are better places for bento boxes (only chicken here, no beef or pork) in town. I did not try their sushi, (only the CA roll that came with my bento), so I cannot comment on that.“

“Been going here for 10+ years and the owner recognizes us every single time. I love that! I may try other sushi restaurants to compare to umi but I always come back to umi. The quantity and quality and price is top tier in my opinion. I’ve never been sick or disappointed from this place so I’ll always recommend until the day I croak“

“🍣 Warning: Haruki Sushi House May Ruin All Other Sushi For You — Forever
Listen, I’m not saying Haruki Sushi House in Vacaville is magic… but I’m also not not saying that. The fish here is so fresh it practically introduces itself before melting in your mouth like a buttery dream you never want to wake up from.
The menu? Oh, it’s got it all — creative rolls, silky sashimi, cooked options for the sushi-curious, and a staff that will literally bend over backwards to tickle your taste buds just right. Picky eater? Weird request? These folks will make it happen with a smile.
This isn’t some cold, corporate sushi conveyor belt situation. Haruki is a warm, cozy, family-run gem — the kind of place where you walk in a stranger and leave feeling like you’ve been adopted.
Fair warning though: once you eat here, the sushi bar at your local grocery store will never look the same. Consider yourself spoiled for life — and honestly? Totally worth it. 🐟“
