“FABULOUS SERVICE ! We rate great service above everything else and if we don't get it.....we don't come back ! My wife and I were heading to Santa Monica ( 152 miles from Solana Beach ) for a weekend getaway on Friday and needed a planned lunch stop on the way. Last year when I renewed my Australian passport at the Australian Consulate-General in L.A my wife jumped online and found a Lokal Sandwich Shop on National Blvd close by for our lunch break. The sandwiches, drinks and service were excellent at that location and we expected the same here. Considering we were heading towards L.A on a busy Friday we made great time. We parked in the private carpark and walked in about 12.30pm. It was bright and cheery inside just like the other location we visited. A sweet young lady named Emily greeted us straight off. First up we both had to hit the restrooms ( nice & clean ) after our non-stop drive from Solana Beach. NO PROB ! And then we sat at a table ready to select our lunch order. At the service counter we ordered 1 x ICED LATTE, 1 x THAI ICED TEA, 1 X BBQ PORK BANH MI ( cucumber, jalapeño, mayo, housed pickled daikon & carrots, cilantro on a baguette ) and 1 X THE CUBANO ( Ham, shredded pork, pickled cucumber, swiss cheese, mayo, dijon mustard on toasted rustic sourdough ). BONUS BONUS BONUS...when I checked in on YELP I got an offer for 20% off our first visit. I TOOK IT ! So far so good...very friendly service from Emily the cashier and WE LIKED THE VIBE....an intangible thing that you feel. Our iced drinks were ready in next to no time and tasted very refreshing. I haven't savored a BBQ Pork Banh Mi since last year ( at a Lokal Sandwich Shop ) and this one did not disappoint...hitting all the right fresh and healthy notes. My wife went nuts over The Cubano...quite a large fully loaded sandwich. It wasn't real busy at that time of day so we took our time enjoying our delicious lunch. I noticed that they had craft beer on tap...I didn't see that at the location we visited last year. I asked Vanessa behind the counter....why is this location called Lokal Sandwich + Burger Bar instead off Lokal sandwich Shop ? And Vanessa replied...because this location sells beer. OK ! We really enjoyed everything we ordered here and had a relaxing break from driving. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !“

“This Subway is really fast and serving and the people are really cool. Does anybody noticed that the sandwiches are super large recently did they change I have to ask next time I go there and they're huge so long I don't remember them being this big.“

“We got the Vegan Beef Tacos and they were so good we ordered some more to go. They're pricey but worth it and the Vegan menu is amazing. We were here on vacation and this was by far some of the best vegan food I've eaten. We also got the Vegan teriyaki chicken and veggies.. everything was delicious“

“I love this place. I’m absolutely addicted to Subway pastrami sandwiches and they are a good deal considering the current environment. The staff here is so nice and goes out of their way to make your sandwich how you want it - never rushed, condiments never look stale or empty. One lady even warms the pastrami first before putting the cheese on the bread then warming again - I like that! I live up the street on Via Marina and have gone to all the fancy restaurants and bars in the area - but when I need some real good comfort food in hurry, I always come back to Subway!“

“I come here 2-3x a week for my lunch break for a buffalo sandwich (my favorite, highly recommend). The owner and Whitney are kind people and love chatting with them. I especially like all the decor during pride month. Solid and reliable sandwhich spot and I recommend it over other lunch spots nearby.“

This place makes one of the most interesting flavor combos that does not make sandwiches boring. Love the saffron mayo.

When we came for the first time— they were out of focaccia breads and we had the WLF on baguette— it was fantastic. With the fried shallot, the flavors were well-balanced and found them different than other places.

We came back with the good memories and came back for the second time. The flavors inside of the bread were the same, but the bread— the original recipe— did not find the flavor balance and just sour throughout.

We learned that the original recipe isn’t good, but they don’t offer bread substitution (at least online). Tasting in a way could be just us, but not offering an option is not great. Happily willing to try again.“

“This restaurant is THE ONE. Food is so good that it would make a picky eater apologize. Atmosphere? Immaculate. And Juliana, one of the managers? Absolute legend. She always greets customers with a smile and makes sure everything is going great. Customer service would make a five-star hotel take notes. The food really is excellent and the place is cleaner than my plate after I’m done eating there. I’ll be coming back and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for great food in the Marina Del Rey area!“

“Philly’s Best on Melrose is legit! I got the classic cheesesteak and it was really good — juicy thin-sliced beef, melty cheese, and a soft roll that didn’t fall apart.
The portions are big and it actually tastes like a real Philly cheesesteak. The owner even visited our table, which was a nice touch. Friendly staff, quick service, and chill spot right on Melrose.
If you’re in the area and want a solid cheesesteak, this is the place. I’ll definitely go back.“

“This place is a hidden gem. The Philly cheesesteak with fries/drink combo is one of my favorite lunches on the westside. Plenty of well seasoned meat & veggies, and the option to add lettuce/tomato/mayo - which I do. And the sandwich is very neatly wrapped in paper and cut in half - making it easy to eat. The crinkle cut fries are always perfectly cooked - with a crisp outside, but still fluffy inside, and then enhanced with seasoning (Lawry’s maybe?). Plus self-serve Coke fountain beverages (a sign says only 1 refill, but they don’t seem to be stingy with this).

They also have teriyaki bowls and burgers - but I haven’t tried those yet.

They have a GREAT selection of bottled & canned sodas/drinks, including Jarritos, Jones, Boylan, and Snapple - big winners!

The inside is dated and worn…and it’s perfect!
It’s been here since 1957, and appears to be family owned & operated.
This place is THE BEST - go and support - you’ll be glad you did.“

The Food: Hot & Spicy burger: I "upgraded" my burger, adding some avocado & bacon! OMG! Love the sauce & the jalapeño in my burger. Onion Ring: Great batter, super crispy! Strawberry Milkshake: Very creamy and not overly sweet! Just the way I like it~ Wings: The staff highly recommended me to try their wings. Sweet & Spicy flavor! Perfect combination~ I didn't know they have breakfast menu too? I got to come back & try out their breakfast soon~ They open at 8am. Perfect to grab freshly made breakfast before work! “Big shout out to this place. We all know how rare it is to receive your order and it looks EXACTLY like the menu pic showcasing it. The guy who made it for us knocked it out of the park. Price is more than fair and I felt completely full without any leftover which to me is the perfect combination. Our group of 3 had the Caprese style, the Parma and the Chicken Milanese. All were good.“

One of the few places open in the morning for breakfast. Ordered a 6 inch philly sandwich which was delicious and filling to start the day! The salads and meat were fresh just like how we want it.

Service is great! They're friendly and quick, the tables and shop inside are kept clean. First subway experience in a long time and I'm glad we dropped by here for a quick morning meal! Thanks Subway staff!
