“I've visited another location and decided to grab lunch. Got the Matt Cane with only lettuce as far as the veggies. This sandwich is delicious. The flavors all meld together. I was worried the Godfather sauce would be overpowering but it wasn't. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a few questions which they took the time to answer. Got the combo with soda and Zappa's Bayou Blackened Ranch chips. Not blown away with this particular flavor, not sure what I expected.“

“Great banh mi sandwich in Chinatown especially for the price ($6). I certainly would not have discovered it if it weren't for yelp, as the location is certainly no frills and small and easy to miss if you are not looking for it. Note that the place is cash only and there is no place to eat it, so don't plan on coming here if you wish to dine in.

Tip: Also not too far from the China Town Metro Station (A-Line) if you want to walk from there.“

“This is BY FAR one of my favorite sandwich spots in Los Angeles!

Everything about the sandwiches here is absolutely perfect - from the perfectly crunchy dutch bread, to the generous toppings and ingredients in each sandwich that is both filling and yet also not overpowering in any way.

It's an unassuming exterior for the most part - but within, the seating is ample for anyone wishing to dine-in.

I've also experienced nothing but the BEST service and friendliness on all of my visits to this establishment.

They have both hot & cold sandos, although my personal favorite remains their main staple - 'The Melrose'!
Delectably delicious with plenty of creaminess, flavor, and texture. Nothing overpowers other ingredients.

The bread, sosis bandari, and seasonings were probably some of the best combinations I've ever had, and it might genuinely be the best sandwich I've had in LA. My wife and I were heading to Santa Monica ( 152 miles from Solana Beach ) for a weekend getaway on Friday and needed a planned lunch stop on the way. Last year when I renewed my Australian passport at the Australian Consulate-General in L.A my wife jumped online and found a Lokal Sandwich Shop on National Blvd close by for our lunch break. The sandwiches, drinks and service were excellent at that location and we expected the same here. Considering we were heading towards L.A on a busy Friday we made great time. We parked in the private carpark and walked in about 12.30pm. It was bright and cheery inside just like the other location we visited. A sweet young lady named Emily greeted us straight off. First up we both had to hit the restrooms ( nice & clean ) after our non-stop drive from Solana Beach. NO PROB ! And then we sat at a table ready to select our lunch order. At the service counter we ordered 1 x ICED LATTE, 1 x THAI ICED TEA, 1 X BBQ PORK BANH MI ( cucumber, jalapeño, mayo, housed pickled daikon & carrots, cilantro on a baguette ) and 1 X THE CUBANO ( Ham, shredded pork, pickled cucumber, swiss cheese, mayo, dijon mustard on toasted rustic sourdough ). BONUS BONUS BONUS...when I checked in on YELP I got an offer for 20% off our first visit. I TOOK IT ! So far so good...very friendly service from Emily the cashier and WE LIKED THE VIBE....an intangible thing that you feel. Our iced drinks were ready in next to no time and tasted very refreshing. I haven't savored a BBQ Pork Banh Mi since last year ( at a Lokal Sandwich Shop ) and this one did not disappoint...hitting all the right fresh and healthy notes. My wife went nuts over The Cubano...quite a large fully loaded sandwich. It wasn't real busy at that time of day so we took our time enjoying our delicious lunch. I noticed that they had craft beer on tap...I didn't see that at the location we visited last year. I asked Vanessa behind the counter....why is this location called Lokal Sandwich + Burger Bar instead off Lokal sandwich Shop ? And Vanessa replied...because this location sells beer. OK ! We really enjoyed everything we ordered here and had a relaxing break from driving. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !“

They are CASH ONLY, and all their subs coming with the same ingredients, no lettuce. The pickles, onions, and tomatoes are not slices, they are chopped up and literally scooped up and place on the sub. It is delicious and they are very large portions, just not typical, know before you go! Try something different, you may like it!“

The staff exceeds expectations by providing an uncommon pleasant experience with their personalities. The kind lady and gentlemen, of a husband, who staff this Subway make me feel at home each, and every, time I walk through the door. They have great hours of availability in addition to delicious & refreshing Pepsi-Cola products that are all too difficult to find these days in the Restaurant-Chain world, to wash down tasty sandwiches.

This place makes one of the most interesting flavor combos that does not make sandwiches boring. Love the saffron mayo.

When we came for the first time— they were out of focaccia breads and we had the WLF on baguette— it was fantastic. With the fried shallot, the flavors were well-balanced and found them different than other places.

We came back with the good memories and came back for the second time. The flavors inside of the bread were the same, but the bread— the original recipe— did not find the flavor balance and just sour throughout.

We learned that the original recipe isn’t good, but they don’t offer bread substitution (at least online). Tasting in a way could be just us, but not offering an option is not great. Happily willing to try again.“

“I stopped by Mike’s Deli in DTLA on my way to Union Station, and I’m glad I did! While the store itself isn’t flashy at all, they do produce some extremely good sandwiches.

The girl working at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Mike’s Deli #1, which is essentially a spicy version of a turkey avocado sandwich. The sandwich was super fresh and bursting with flavor.

Really, every aspect of this sandwich was memorable, and the meat-to-vegetable-to-bread ratio was on point. The bread was very fluffy and nice, too.

It’s an d-school, simple deli that doesn’t stand out cosmetically, but it’s clean, welcoming, and they pump out some top-tier deli sandwiches at reasonable prices.“

“Philly’s Best on Melrose is legit! I got the classic cheesesteak and it was really good — juicy thin-sliced beef, melty cheese, and a soft roll that didn’t fall apart.
The portions are big and it actually tastes like a real Philly cheesesteak. The owner even visited our table, which was a nice touch. Friendly staff, quick service, and chill spot right on Melrose.

My wife just brought me back a Mr. G's (she did it right and got everything on the side that wasn't meat and cheese) and it was still the best Sandwhich I've ever had. It's truly that good. I ordered a slice of the “Green” pizza and the Caesar salad, which is hands down the best Caesar I’ve ever had. The pizza crust is incredibly flavorful with the perfect consistency, and the edge of the crust had just the right thickness with beautiful airy pockets. Absolute perfection.

The Caesar deserves its own shoutout: homemade croutons that were so good they could be a menu item on their own.
