“I've visited another location and decided to grab lunch. Got the Matt Cane with only lettuce as far as the veggies. This sandwich is delicious. The flavors all meld together. I was worried the Godfather sauce would be overpowering but it wasn't. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a few questions which they took the time to answer. Got the combo with soda and Zappa's Bayou Blackened Ranch chips. Not blown away with this particular flavor, not sure what I expected.“

I certainly would not have discovered it if it weren't for yelp, as the location is certainly no frills and small and easy to miss if you are not looking for it. Note that the place is cash only and there is no place to eat it, so don't plan on coming here if you wish to dine in.

Tip: Also not too far from the China Town Metro Station (A-Line) if you want to walk from there.“

They are CASH ONLY, and all their subs coming with the same ingredients, no lettuce. The pickles, onions, and tomatoes are not slices, they are chopped up and literally scooped up and place on the sub. It is delicious and they are very large portions, just not typical, know before you go! Try something different, you may like it!“

“I recently ordered catering from Lokal Venice and it was such a great experience. The place itself is super cute, the interior is really well put together and just beautiful to look at.

This was my first time ordering catering from them, and it was a total success. Everything was delivered right on time, and the presentation was amazing. I ordered burritos and asked them to cut them in half, which made everything look extra neat and organized, perfect for a group setting.

I had quite a few dietary restrictions to accommodate since this was for a Teacher Appreciation Day at a school (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, egg allergies, dairy-free) and they handled everything so well. The communication was easy, they responded quickly to emails, and made the whole process stress-free.

On top of all that, they even let me take their insulated bags to make it easier to transport everything, they just asked me to return them later. I thought that was such a thoughtful and helpful touch.

I 1000% recommend them, and I’ll definitely be ordering from them again for my next catering!“

This place makes one of the most interesting flavor combos that does not make sandwiches boring. Love the saffron mayo.

When we came for the first time— they were out of focaccia breads and we had the WLF on baguette— it was fantastic. With the fried shallot, the flavors were well-balanced and found them different than other places.

We came back with the good memories and came back for the second time. The flavors inside of the bread were the same, but the bread— the original recipe— did not find the flavor balance and just sour throughout.

We learned that the original recipe isn’t good, but they don’t offer bread substitution (at least online). Tasting in a way could be just us, but not offering an option is not great. Happily willing to try again.“

“This restaurant is THE ONE. Food is so good that it would make a picky eater apologize. Atmosphere? Immaculate. And Juliana, one of the managers? Absolute legend. She always greets customers with a smile and makes sure everything is going great. Customer service would make a five-star hotel take notes. There’s a common seating area and it’s quiet enough for conversation. They only have a few items—sandwiches and a couple of salads—but they do them really well. And it’s a good value too. “I stopped by Mike’s Deli in DTLA on my way to Union Station, and I’m glad I did! While the store itself isn’t flashy at all, they do produce some extremely good sandwiches.

The girl working at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Mike’s Deli #1, which is essentially a spicy version of a turkey avocado sandwich. The sandwich was super fresh and bursting with flavor.

Really, every aspect of this sandwich was memorable, and the meat-to-vegetable-to-bread ratio was on point. The bread was very fluffy and nice, too.

I was in there with my son this weekend and the gentleman behind the counter was kind and joked and smiled and did all the things that you want to see to make somebody feel welcome in your establishment. As a first timer I asked what they recommend and a gentleman in the back by the name of Bob said he recommends the Cooper Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich with the Sesame seed bread. “This place is a hidden gem. The Philly cheesesteak with fries/drink combo is one of my favorite lunches on the westside. Plenty of well seasoned meat & veggies, and the option to add lettuce/tomato/mayo - which I do. And the sandwich is very neatly wrapped in paper and cut in half - making it easy to eat. The crinkle cut fries are always perfectly cooked - with a crisp outside, but still fluffy inside, and then enhanced with seasoning (Lawry’s maybe?). Plus self-serve Coke fountain beverages (a sign says only 1 refill, but they don’t seem to be stingy with this).

They also have teriyaki bowls and burgers - but I haven’t tried those yet.

They have a GREAT selection of bottled & canned sodas/drinks, including Jarritos, Jones, Boylan, and Snapple - big winners!

The inside is dated and worn…and it’s perfect!
It’s been here since 1957, and appears to be family owned & operated.
This place is THE BEST - go and support - you’ll be glad you did.“
