“Great banh mi sandwich in Chinatown especially for the price ($6). I certainly would not have discovered it if it weren't for yelp, as the location is certainly no frills and small and easy to miss if you are not looking for it. Note that the place is cash only and there is no place to eat it, so don't plan on coming here if you wish to dine in.

Tip: Also not too far from the China Town Metro Station (A-Line) if you want to walk from there.“

“This place is a hidden gem (to overuse a phrase) and it’s a nice departure from the street since it’s beneath a building along with a few other places. There’s a common seating area and it’s quiet enough for conversation. They only have a few items—sandwiches and a couple of salads—but they do them really well. And it’s a good value too. The salad I got was huge. I opted for adding chicken. Decision fatigue is real so I appreciated the few choices I had to consider on an empty stomach!“

“I stopped by Mike’s Deli in DTLA on my way to Union Station, and I’m glad I did! While the store itself isn’t flashy at all, they do produce some extremely good sandwiches.

The girl working at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Mike’s Deli #1, which is essentially a spicy version of a turkey avocado sandwich. The sandwich was super fresh and bursting with flavor.

Really, every aspect of this sandwich was memorable, and the meat-to-vegetable-to-bread ratio was on point. The bread was very fluffy and nice, too.

It’s an d-school, simple deli that doesn’t stand out cosmetically, but it’s clean, welcoming, and they pump out some top-tier deli sandwiches at reasonable prices.“

“Philly’s Best on Melrose is legit! I got the classic cheesesteak and it was really good — juicy thin-sliced beef, melty cheese, and a soft roll that didn’t fall apart.
The portions are big and it actually tastes like a real Philly cheesesteak. The owner even visited our table, which was a nice touch. Friendly staff, quick service, and chill spot right on Melrose.

“The Lemon chicken and Farro soup was amazing. Quick service and excellent food choices. The Turkey Avo Salsa Verde was slightly spicy, and delicious. You can enjoy it with or without the salsa, as the sandwich itself is flavorful with the cotija and avocado and sweet hot pepper.“

“This place is a hidden gem. The Philly cheesesteak with fries/drink combo is one of my favorite lunches on the westside. Plenty of well seasoned meat & veggies, and the option to add lettuce/tomato/mayo - which I do. And the sandwich is very neatly wrapped in paper and cut in half - making it easy to eat. The crinkle cut fries are always perfectly cooked - with a crisp outside, but still fluffy inside, and then enhanced with seasoning (Lawry’s maybe?). Plus self-serve Coke fountain beverages (a sign says only 1 refill, but they don’t seem to be stingy with this).

They also have teriyaki bowls and burgers - but I haven’t tried those yet.

They have a GREAT selection of bottled & canned sodas/drinks, including Jarritos, Jones, Boylan, and Snapple - big winners!

The inside is dated and worn…and it’s perfect!

“Off-the-charts delicious. And that’s coming from someone who’s eaten pizza all over the world — including unforgettable Neapolitan pizza in Naples.

I ordered a slice of the “Green” pizza and the Caesar salad, which is hands down the best Caesar I’ve ever had. The pizza crust is incredibly flavorful with the perfect consistency, and the edge of the crust had just the right thickness with beautiful airy pockets. Absolute perfection.

The Caesar deserves its own shoutout: homemade croutons that were so good they could be a menu item on their own.

100% recommend. And to top it all off, as I was leaving, I got to meet Chris Bianco himself — what a treat!“

“Big shout out to this place. We all know how rare it is to receive your order and it looks EXACTLY like the menu pic showcasing it. The guy who made it for us knocked it out of the park. I eat a Gluten free diet by choice and this place is heavenly for this. Their Vegetarian and vegan options ensure that they have choices for everyone.

The staff are friendly, and warms smiles makes you feel welcome.
I have to Tofu Sandwich. I dont know what dressings they put in there but it was complemented brilliantly.
They have natural juices, housemate lemonade and ice teas.

“My husband and I stopped by after seeing Eddie Izzard's Hamlet right down the street. I got the Damon Bruce and my husband got thr Hollywoo. Both were fantastic (though I tried both and think i picked best). The dirty sauce was surprisingly sweet, and the only complaint I have is that it was sweeter than I would have liked. Did not stop me from devouring the deliciousness, though. I will be back if I am in the area again.“

It’s a little on the pricier side, but the quality definitely makes up for it. I ordered takeout and was impressed that everything still tasted fresh and delicious by the time I got home. The menu has lots of lighter, healthier options, which I really appreciate. I tried the Peruvian steak sandwich and it was so flavorful and satisfying easily a new favorite.
