“Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!“

“It's absolutely one of the coolest spots in Vista. This is a speak easy themed bar that hits all the right points. From the moment you walk inside, you're enveloped in a cool old timey vibe that pulls you out of your daily grind.

They have tons of delicious hand crafted cocktails, as well as a house distilled vodka that has great origin. All of the Misadventure Vodka is made from breads, muffins, and other confectionery carbohydrates that would have become food waste. It tatse amazing, and it's truly unique compared to any other vodka you will find on the market. Other local distilled spirits are also featured on their menu. If you are about supporting local business, then this is the place for you.

The food is excellent. They have several great charcuterie boards, and snack like offering. Additionally, they have more substantial foods like paninis and salads if you are in the mood for a luch or dinner.

This place is far bigger than you would expect looking at it from the outside. There are 2 additional rooms tucked away after you pass through the large main room and lots of outdoor seating. It's easy to find parking around here as well. There is a large parking lot and street parking if that has filled up.

Don't miss out on coming here. It's a unique and fun experience, the staff is wonderful and accommodating. Even if you don't drink or are being the DD, they feature lots of cocktails to enjoy.“

“Ciao is our new local favorite Italian go-to. We are fairly new to the area, having moved from Carlsbad where there is no shortage of excellent restaurants, and Ciao is right up there with wonderful food! The atmosphere was nice, casual and comfortable , the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent!

We were also pleasantly surprised to find that they also offer delivery with the two big food delivery services, and the to-go food is almost as good as dining in. Serving sizes are quite large giving you at least two meals per order.“

“We made the drive from LEGOLAND since this place had the best reviews in the area for pizza. It was definitely worth the drive. Louie, the owner, made some excellent pizzas for the family (including some picky kids) to enjoy. He knew the regulars by name, which is always a great sign.

The pizza was excellent, a thinner and crispy crust with a good amount of toppings. The pepperoni was perfectly caramelized with a bit of crunch, just the way I like it. Great service too, with a quaint atmosphere.

I will go out of my way to come again on our short trip from out of town.

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kids and families dining here. Lots of TVs to distract them with too.“

“Had a hankering for some pizza and found this location. Ordered the Peperoni and red peppers, added Sausage. Small pizza is huge for two folks, also tried the Urban salad. Meal was very good. Not used to sliced pears and candy walnuts with Pungent blue cheese in my salad, but grew on me quick...potpourri of flavors for sure. Crust on pizza is crazy good. Food comes quick.....oh yes, shhhhh, next door is ice-cream joint! Leave room for it!

“Love these Tortillas! always find them in local grocery stores and my kids love these. i decided to check out the location after seeing its a local in vista. place is a little hidden but made my way to the office all the way in the back. lucky for me the tortilla size i wanted was just being made and they gave me one as soon as it was packaged! only thing is if you want corn tortillas you should get here early since they make some every night for all the restaurants they try not to have too much left over so they sell quick in the morning“

“My favorite sports bar to meet friends! And my puppy is welcome in the outside dining area. Oggi's has an extensive casual menu of fresh salads, specialty pizzas, burgers and gluten-free, healthy options that pair perfectly with craft beer and cocktails. The garlic knots bread appetizer is so YUM! Definitely order the larger portion size. I like the option of ordering Half or Full portion size for most dishes. Service was friendly and attentive. “Oh my gosh, I wish I would have known about this place sooner! Lovely little place, very sweet employee. We had the DELICIOUS gelato there, and took a chocolate cheesecake to go. As we finished our transaction, that last croissant was calling to me. There was a customer behind us, so I let her go ahead, silently whispering *just please don't buy the croissant*. She didn't and I was able to! Getting in the car I asked hubby if he wanted some. He said no, he wanted to get home and heat it up. Idk if he thought that was going to deter me, but I can guarantee you it did not. I took one bite and immediately regretted that there had been only one and as a good wife I was going to have to share this. I am unaware of what I said after that, but hubby decided he needed to try it and in 3 min it was gone. The whole thing.
Now let me say this, I have eaten more than my share of baked goods. Some people smoke, some people drink. I like my sweets. And I can generally tell when things are made with butter versus shortening. This was butter. It was amazing. If I knew when they came out of the oven, I would be there, because I can only imagine how wonderful that would be. I can't wait to go back and try more things, but I will call first to set aside a croissant. Or two. Or five.“

“This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the North county area. I mostly do takeout from this place, but it is a great experience dining in as well. Food is delicious and portions are generous. I also highly recommend appetizers and dessert here. My go to is the drunken noodles or massaman curry, but everything else I've tried was amazing. Service is fast and friendly, there is rarely a long wait for food or drinks.“

“Don't listen to the 1 star review person...It appears maybe they did not like the dish they got. It also looks like they poured the dish into the to go rice box making a messy looking photo (not how they should eat that dish).

Anyways, the family run "hole in the wall" restaurant is outstanding. I have eaten here for a decade and consider it the best Indian food I have found so far (tried 4-5 other places).

Favorite dish: chicken korma, basmati rice and coconut Nan (an amazing sweet curry).

The price and wait time is worth it. Just make sure you have a good idea of what dish you might like so you don't end up like the one star guy. I could easily mash food together like a child and present an otherwise delicious looking dish as garbage in a photo.

Side note, the first dish I tried there I did not care for (fried pork dish). I am very happy I tried them again. My whole family raves about their curry and Nan bread.

“Ordered the Mexican sweet corn bowl with shrimp. Absolutely outstanding. I got extra onion and cilantro from the abundant salsa bar. The lady at the cash register's name is Patty and she was so sweet and accommodating and friendly and knowledgeable. I think she made the meal taste even better with her warm and friendly service even though she didn't prepare the food herself. Nice quiet place I would encourage people to go in there and actually sit down and have dinner.“

“During our vacation first arriving I recently visited and had the best breakfast experience ever! Their eggs Benedict is simply unbeatable. The hollandaise sauce was perfectly creamy, and the eggs were poached to perfection. The entire Staff/Owners was incredibly friendly and courteous, even celebrate our son birthday with us. “This place right down the street from my home. I have been going here for years now & will continue to do so. Everyone is very friendly & the donuts are delicious. Yesterday my husband and I stopped by at noon to pick up 3 dozens of donuts to take to our cousins viewing in Tj. We told this to the lady helping us, then she said "wait, let me give you something!" And she gave us 1 dozen donuts for FREE! Her kindness just brought joy to my heart & we thank her for her beautiful action. You all have a blessed weekend.“
