“Ok Im picky and also Persian! Hands down. The best Persian food in the whole San Diego metropolitan. Koobideh, chicken, and barg was delicious. Rice so flavorful, like a homemade basmati rice by a traditional Persian mom!! Salad dressing and salads ON POINT! Shallot yogurt delicious and perfect proportions. Ugh, Ill be a regular. I don’t know how it was my first time. Thank you for the best persian food anyone can ask for.“

“Shaks came recommended to us by our wedding photographer. Upon finding out they were Armenian Lebanese (same as my family!), we knew we would book with them. As we lived out of the country, our parents went to the menu tasting and had the time of their lives. They came back raving about the place and said we have to book. Totally didn't understand the assignment of narrowing down the menu items we should have on the big day, lol. but that's a testament to how good the food is (especially the fresh falafel). Andrew was so helpful on calls, as he is very busy and emails weren't the best method of communication, and answered all of our questions, worked within our parameters and with a ton of integrity. The team was a delight on the day of and worked their tails off in the kitchen with a smile and in front of the guests. The food was a hit with the guest and I am still thinking about the garlic that I'm sure I smelled like on the wedding night because I just couldn't get enough, lol. The leftovers were awesome to have and to share with guests, too. We will be visiting Shak's when we're in the area as a nostalgia trip!!“

I usually go with a veggie burrito or veggie hash, incredible value, and portion size. They also make fresh juices that you can’t miss“

“Review update **** I went back in since I had my family in town and I was super excited about showing them this pizza place since it's just a small walk away . There was a young aged asian girl who attended us . She was not very friendly from start to finish. She answered questions with an attitude, never smiled . Overall it was some of the most unfriendly awkward service I've ever experienced, just a bummer my parents had to experience it too on their first visit .pizza was still great though

“We travel throughout California to visit our ʻohana and spend time at the theme parks with our na moʻopuna. Carlsbad is one of those places we return to a few times a year, always fun to explore.
After a long day at Legoland, we were exhausted and hungry. I was craving for some onolicious Hawaiian plate lunch, and if I had to be honest, that can be so risky on the continent. Some places that make Hawaiian food are not always the greatest, although Yelp or other platforms say they are. So, it's really scary, but I am glad we took the chance and ordered through DoorDash because we were also too tired to drive. And OMG, what a surprise.
From the very first bite, it felt like home. The rice was perfect, but the mac salad? HEAVEN...And the BBQ chicken was so soft, tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. You could taste the paʻakai, that unmistakable Hawaiian salt, hitting the palate in the best way.
Mahalo nui loa to Ohana Hawaiian BBQ for bringing authentic meaʻai to the continent. You gave us comfort when we needed it the most.
Now we know - every time weʻre in Carlsbad, this is our go-to spot“

“We came with the whole family (7 of us) from San Diego & Murrieta because based on its menu Los Cabos in Vista offered all the types of seafood (raw oysters, whole fish with head and tail, shrimp, octopus). Everything including the tacos we ordered was so finger-licking good!!! Compliments to the chefs! And best of all was the service from Beyonce & Karina - quick, helpful, friendly!!! “I was just looking for a wings place, I did not expect such a varied menu. I ordered the carne asada fries, the chipotle fries, buffalo wings, and a carnitas quesadilla. Everybody loved their food!

I had the quesadilla and this may be my second favorite carnitas. Well seasoned, soft, and not oily. I also had some of the chipotle fries. Everybody was right, they were amazing.

It's criminal that there wasn't a line out the door. The prices were reasonable and service was very quick. We definitely will be visiting again.“

This review is overdue but I still wanted to share. I ordered food for pick up for birthday party of ~50 guests. Manager was very helpful. I needed to call to increase the # of guests once and it wasn’t a problem.

Food was hot and ready on time. Person working was very friendly and helped load it in the car. We got tacos - carnitas, carne, and pollo plus rice and beans, tortillas, and chips and salsa. It was a big hit. Lots of compliments and plenty of food.“
