“Solid spot for Japanese-Korean food in Whittier. The menu is small but focused which I like. We got the Cheese Katsu meal, Omurice, and Egg Sando. The Katsu was cooked well, not too greasy, very flavorful. The Omurice was my fave, fluffy and the sauce was really good. Another highlight was the Yuzu Panna Cotta we got for dessert. It was citrusy, not too sweet, great texture, we really enjoyed it. Their Matcha Yuzu-ade was refreshing as well. Good service and a relaxed atmosphere. We will be coming back to try some things we weren't able to fit in this time around.”

Latte wasn't too bitter nor too sweet and a perfect recommendation.

If you're looking for something savory, flaky, with just the right amount of buttery deliciousness the salt bread is for you.

On the other spectrum if you want something more on the sweet side but still full of flaky texture the passion fruit croissant is the way to go. Don't forget to ask for it warmed up at the counter if you're enjoying it in the shop!”

I hosted my mother's 80th birthday celebration at this aesthetically, beautiful restaurant about three weeks ago, and let me tell you our guests are still raving about it! This place is truly a hidden gem in Whittier.

From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The Oaxaca-style food was outstanding, rich in flavor and beautifully presented. The dessert was a definite hit with everyone, and the ambiance was exactly what we had envisioned-warm, inviting, and perfect for such a special occasion.

Xotchil, one of the owners, was an absolute pleasure to work with-professional, extremely accommodating, and incredibly responsive to every question and request I had. Her team-Liz, Ines, and Raul-were equally amazing: friendly, attentive, and very professional throughout the entire event.

We were also grateful that the owners allowed us to bring in a Mariachi band, a Dueto band, and even a photo booth to make the night even more memorable. It was truly a magical and heartfelt evening, and I couldn't be more thankful for how everything came together.

This milestone celebration meant so much to our family, and choosing this venue was one of the best decisions I made. Thank you to the entire team for your excellent service and for helping create such a beautiful and unforgettable memory for my mother and all of us!”

“Came to the fairly newly reopened El Bueno Gusto for dinner and happy that we did. As it was a nice night, we chose to sit in quaint patio area. We were brought out tasty chips and salsa and the attentive waitress took our drink order. Just fyi, beer and wine is only served inside.
We ordered the fish tacos and shrimp fajitas. Boy, they were extremely tasty, really fresh flavors. The beans and rice were good.
Prices were reasonable as well!
We will be back to try the asada and other meat dishes.
Looks like they are open for breakfast too.”

For a first time I got the chicken teriyaki bowl because I don't really care for the veggies, but when you get the plate meals, you get a lot of salad with the meal! Their salad dressing looks like ranch dressing (in case you were curious). I have had both the chicken and beef but to me, the chicken is the best. The staff were all friendly and provided great customer service. Both interior and exterior are kept very clean and there's plenty of parking.”

I think it's great they came into a location that has very mediocre Thai restaurants around with decent ambiance but low quality food. Instead of focusing on a dine in experience, this place is all about delicious Thai take out.
The drunken pad noodles and spaghetti are great and Thai level spicy.
The pineapple fried rice is also delicious.
This is my new go to Thai spot.”

It was so nice and cool inside parking was a bit of a nightmare but it was worth it to have lunch at the pit and bull. Bathrooms provided an indoors very clean great atmosphere there's a lot of picnic tables set up where you can pick what restaurant food you want pizza or barbecue or there's a bakery in there that has the most awesome desserts I got a cherry pie and an apple pie They were $9 They were a little mini pies. All I can say is I highly highly did I mention highly recommend this place It is unreal awesome 👍🏽😎”

The Half & Half nachos and fries were AMAZING. Again, the quality of the meats (I loved the asada thr best) and the perfectly cooked fries and homemade chips were perfect. Nice size plate as well.”

Sadly, the shop recently experienced a break-in, which is disheartening for such a hardworking local business. We really need to support more mom-and-pop coffee shops like this one — so if you’re in the area, drop by, grab a coffee and a pastry, and show them some love.

“A nice tea shop with free wifi and some working spaces. It’s new and clean. A few people were working or doing homework in the seating area. It feels very family friendly. Most non-coffee drinks are mixed power so I couldn’t have the no sugar version I wanted.”
