“This a great place for pupusas.I had both a loroco and a revuelta pupusa. The loroco was very cheesy and had a very nice light veggie taste from the blossoms. The revuelta was full of flavor and not overly salty. The cortiodo had a nice bite to it and a pleasant balance between the herbs and vinegar.I also had a tamale de elote, it tasted very fresh. It came with crema and beans, and was a nice finish to my lunch.I think they make their own tamarindo Agua fresca - it had a nice tartness without being overly sweet.“
“Always a great vibe and delicious food! Los platos fuertes (like the Bistec Encebollado) are 🔥🔥🔥. Will absolutely recommend to others.“

“Anytime we come to the LA area, a stop at El Metapaneco is absolutely mandatory. The food and family atmosphere is top notch. The pupusa's are hands down the best I have ever tasted, and I married into a Salvadorian family! If you like pupusa's, you'll LOVE El Metapaneco!“

“Personally, I love it, only that a couple of times they forget the tortillas and another two times they gave me a thigh with the bone peeled from the leg. Someone ate the chicken. I didn't want to complain because the food is good.

“The lady knows my voice! She automatically says Hola Josefina! Yesterday, she made me a lupus with cheese and CALABASITAS! She makes tamales. The chicken ones are so good. I bought a dozen at 10 am. took them home by 300pm they were gone. She takes orders ANYTIME and makes hundreds of them for CHRISTMAS! I love her!“

“Healthy simple food.I like it just the way it is. I got the #1 ejotes con huevo; scrambled eggs, green beans, onion, tomato & bell pepper; accompanied with queso fresco, beans, crema, avocado slice, and thick corn tortillas. Fresh, simple and not heavy. Plus the price is also fair. If we ALL ate good simple food vs fast food chain, we all would be better off“

“Excellent experience in this Salvadoran restaurant! The food is authentic and delicious, with traditional dishes such as pupusas, tamales, and empanadas. The service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is welcoming and familiar. Highly recommended for all Salvadoran food lovers!“

“The food is good and decently priced.I like the fact that you can get Salvadorian dishes or Mexican.Since it's located in a lower-income area, the atmosphere is not even mid-tier.Don't let that discourage you.I enjoyed the chilaquiles with a side popusa.“

“Homey restaurant that serves up fresh homemade El Salvadoran food. Everything was fresh and good. The fried plantains with black beans and eggs with fresh tortillas I feel we're meant for pupusas which works for me. CASH ONLY. Street parking only with locals as most customers like myself. Hole in the wall special!! And know the homeless try to come in and beg for money which is interesting because the paying customers just ignore. Provecho.“

“I was in town so I dropped by this little hidden gem. The food was authenticity delicious. I loved that they focused on Mexican and Central American cuisines. I had the Mexican Breakfast and my husband the Guatemalan Breakfast. Both were good. The staff were friendly and polite. Place is a bit hidden in a strip mall, definitely worth a visit.“

“Hello, my opinion is that I recommend this place to eat pupusas, they are very good and the price of each pupusas is around $5 dollars (BUT) the size of the pupusas are like double or triple the size of normal pupusas. And the important thing is that they are well filled with food. I recommend them.

“The food was great, service not so great my server will take forever to check on tables and make sure if everything was good . Also when I asked for something she will forget. The place inside was so hot they need air condition or at list a fan. I recommend to call for a pick up order instead do not dine in.“

“All good but I went for some chicharron with cheese and what I disliked is that... 1-they have a lot of fat 2- they leave the pupusas on the grill for a long time which makes them toast, and number 3- I think they put a lot of salt or a lot of seasoning to the pork rinds since I tried them and I did like them but it did feel like they had a lot of salt and then since it has cheese, the cheese has salt I mean you should look at that in the pork rinds with cheese ??“

“It's a very mom and pop shop, but they are worth a visit!
I've only had the pupusa so far, but I am excited to try their other dishes as everything smells extraordinary.
The pupusa were cooked perfectly, with that little bit of crispy edges! So good!
Their curtido was really fresh too! I normally like a pickle curtido but theirs was really fresh and nice!
The salsa roja was really nice too.
Everything made sense together and was quite delicious!
I can't wait to try more and thank you so much!“

“The food is good, the service and atmosphere are not, be careful, check the receipt when you pay the 24dls that they had to charge, they charged me 257.00 and to get the money back I had to go several times until they returned it to me after 2 weeks.“

“Ordered Sopa de Patas ...Well condimented as it should be .All ingredients accounted for : according to childhood/teenage memories of my favorite before mentioned soup .A large party ( 18 ) was to my left.Given the waitresses the benefit of the doubt for somewhat SLOW service .Why they were playing Mexican music in a 100% Salvadoran restaurant ?!?!?!?“

“Order Three Cheese Popusas
Delicious!!!
But... The Curtido Not Fresh Is Fresh Because It Has Been Refrigerated For Days!!!!
The Sauce Is Still Not Fresh From Days And Without Taste....
It's been several times now that Boy they put the curtido and the sauce on me and I don't even try them...
But.. The Very Delicious Popusas“

“The best leg soup.
Since 2001, it has been my favorite spot for Indian chicken soup, pata soup, and delicious pupusas. The only place that sells you special pupusas for $0.99 from Monday to Friday.
And of course my favorites: cheese with loroco. Coupled with always cordial and friendly service.
And one more, very generous with the curtido for the pupusas.
Turn up. On the weekends it gets good.“

“Absolutely amazing, so many authentic dishes you can choose from. Pupusas, gorditas, cocktails, let me mention an awesome take out deal on the pupusas 10 for $10. Budget friendly and won't break the bank for real flavors that make you return to La Ceiba. They have karaoke during the week, people seem to love the drink specials in the evening.“
