“Small little restaurant with big menu of offerings.
We loved that the restaurant is practically divided in half with one side brightly lit with families and the other dimly lit with couples. Made for an easier, more pleasant dining experience. Our server was very good in making recommendations and filling our order quickly.
Our group enjoyed a bottle of sake, sukiyaki, hamachi kama, vegetarian rolls, miso soup, and steak teriyaki. Everything was in good portions and well prepared. Mochi and ice cream with bananas ended the meal well.
We would definitely recommend eating here.“

“My Cousin, who lives in Northern California, said we need to stop in Santa Rosa at Ippinn Udon while on our road trip from Washington to FL. He said it’s his absolute favorite. It did not disappoint. It was amazing! The staff were very kind. The food was delicious and fresh. They had really good sized portions as well. We even had enough to take with us on our road trip. This is definitely our new favorite place in Santa Rosa. Thank you Ippinn Udon for making our road trip extra special.“

“Been a 10 year follower of owner Billy and his sushi creations! He set the bar high so when I moved to St. Petersburg, FL I have yet to meet his equal! His place is a must stop whenever I come back to Sonoma County.“

“I’ve had a lot of Japanese food in Sonoma and across the Bay Area, but places that deliver this level of consistent quality are few and far between. This restaurant is the kind of spot where you think you know your sushi and your izakaya—then they quietly serve something that reminds you what “mastery of the basics” really looks like.
The ingredients are so fresh they might as well have swum over to say hi. The knife work is clean and precise, the seasoning calibrated like it was measured with a ruler. Every dish arrives looking good, smelling even better, and tasting exactly as it should—leaving you with zero room to nitpick.
What’s even more impressive is the owner’s decade-plus commitment to doing things the right way. In an era where everyone’s chasing the next gimmick or “innovation,” he’s chosen instead to refine one thing until it’s perfect. That kind of craftsmanship sounds romantic, but in practice it’s harder than unagi on a busy night.
Put simply: this isn’t the type of place that relies on hype to get you in the door. It’s the type you finish eating at, then quietly add to your personal “lifelong list of Japanese restaurants you’ll keep coming back to.” If you’re in the Bay Area and craving a Japanese meal that won’t let you down, this is it—no fanfare, just understated excellence.“

“This is our spot for sushi in northern California. Gary chu and family are great. We have had some of the most delicious meals here. You should definitely ask Gary about the off menu items. The universe is amazing and has a great story, he will happily explain so check it out. The rolls are delicious and fun. Don't take my word, I am there once a week if not more, come get great food. Tell head sushi chef and owner Gary Chu I sent you and he will take great care of you!“

“This is really a good restaurant and it’s located on Farmer’s in Santa Rosa, CA. I had originally gone to another restaurant but they were so “full” and I just wanted to get a meal to go and be out of there. I ordered the Shrimp & Chicken Udon Noodles box which consisted of the Udon Noodles, kale, bean sprouts, steamed rice, side salad with cucumbers and tomatoes with a Japanese dressing. A soup with tofu & green onions in a bone beef broth. Also, I order the Jumbo Tempura Shrimp and it came with a teriyaki sauce. A very good meal with large portions. Friendly staff & a clean environment which is very important to me.“

“Wow, was in town and stopped in for take out. Great choice. Tasty food and large portions. Good kimchi, house salad dressing was flavorful and light, and the spicy BBQ chicken was tender. Could have been a bit more spicy though. So if you want some heat ask for it.“

“Healdsburg's best kept secret is Otoro Sushi, but thankfully it doesnt stop at just sushi. I happened upon this restaurant after going to my favorite place to shop for landscaping sculptures and misc. decor in Healdsburg, Garrett Hardware which happens to Otoro. Today, on my way home from UCSF we decided to try it out and to say we were in love at first bite would not be an understatement. We started off with a bowl of their soup which was delightful followed by a serving of tempura vegetables 😋😜 and we could not get enough or pick which one was our favorite. Then onto the main course one Bento Box with Teriyaki Chicken and its sides along with our sushi which consisted of 2- California Rolls, 2-Shrimp Tempura Rolls, 1-Yum Yum Roll 😋 (My Favorite) It came by its name for a reason and finally a Jalapeño Bomb Roll which is going home to the boy . 👦The only thing I forgot to add is I cant wait to go back.“

“Best sushi around. You could tell they put a lot of thought and effort into each roll to make it tasty and presentable. Not all-you-can-eat, but suprisingly not too expensive either. We were perfectly satisfied with what we ordered, and between two of us it cost around $84 whilst a dinner of two AYCE's at Paradise Sushi would be around $100 and much lower quality. Personally, I tried their Sebastopol, Stony Point, and Vegas rolls.“
