“Excellent! I’m sharing the fish rolls Amy and Olivia had, they finished with some amazing looking Faty Toro. The avocado roll was excellent, I was surprised by the Veggie Roll, next time I’ll get at least 2! The mix of crunch and flavor is fantastic! I also got the special veggie roll, the long sour finish was stunning, sneaky and rewarding! I’ll be back!!!“
“This is my favorite Sushi place in Marin county I have been going here for years. I have tried many other places and including ones in sf I have gone to expensive restaurants and nothing compares to this place. The Sushi is always amazing and fresh“
“I came upon Sushi Ko four years ago and I have been a regular ever since. Though I don't particularly fancy sushi or sashimi, my favorite is their "Tempura and Chicken Teriyaki combo" This item comes with one shrimp tempura, assorted tempura vegetables, chicken teriyaki, mixed greens salad dressed with the tastiest salad dressing, miso soup and steamed white rice. I always order an extra shrimp. Everything is cooked perfectly and consistently delicious! Even if I am not a sushi and sashimi eater, I am certain and confident to say that their sushi and sashimi items are excellent, as evidenced by the faces of their happy, satisfied guests. I am delighted to say that service is superb!“
“For the past 2 years starting with the whole pandemic eat in ordeal we have ordered from Oyama at least once a week because even my 4 and 7 year old are obsessed!!!! Also fresh, made so well, variety, presentation, price, and even through a delivery app it's early and outstanding. We don't even bother going anywhere else. Always nice, we've never had delivery issues and if anything does go wrong they handle it easily.“
“It was always pleasant to experience chef making your the nigiri in front of you.My favorite dish from the menu was:Honmaguro Toro Nigiri ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Anago Nigiri ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Kamasu Nigiri ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Hojicha Ice Cream ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Recommended to visit this restaurant to experience high quality Japanese cuisine!“
“This sushi place is simply outstanding! The food is spectacular! It’s an authentic Japanese sushi, not an American version of sushi. The place is not cheap but it’s worth every dollar! Great place for a special occasion! Highly recommended!“
“The most impressive of the seven nigiri is the chargrilled medium rare tuna. When you get close, you can smell the strong aroma of chargrilled tuna. The two sides are more cooked, and the middle retains the taste of sashimi, which is very delicious ❤️ Overall, the nigiri was fresh and delicious, with a very rich flavor Their food has a stronger flavor than other Omakase stores“
“Went here with my girlfriend for my birthday. The staff was extremely attentive and nice. The atmosphere of the bar downstairs was not bad but the music was a bit too loud in my opinion. The food was amazing and I think it was reasonably priced. Only thing I have to say is that the nigiri was made a bit sloppy on some pieces with the ice being too lightly packed. But overall the taste was amazing and nothing else to complain about.“
“The entire evening was perfect - the service, excellent; the explanations of each course was right on; the food, outstanding; the wine list, perfect. In other words, it was an excellent experience. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff went out of their way to make the birthday special - from a hand written birthday card to a surprise additional birthday sweet with candle at the end. In addition the staff was very careful to meet our dietary restrictions. I cannot state more than this: it was noteworthy and will return.“
“I had an enchanting evening at Bar Iris, where the cozy and intimate atmosphere set the stage for a memorable experience. The attentive waiter staff added to the overall enjoyment. Although we missed out on snacks, the highlight of the night was undoubtedly the exquisite cocktails.I indulged in two rounds of the LEVEL UP! drink, a delightful blend of strawberry juice, pandan, rhubarb, awayuki gin, lemon, egg whites, and the flavorful combination of shichimi powder, which truly enhanced the overall flavor profile. Its smooth not spirit forward which, I truly enjoyed.Additionally, my friend ordered the SORRY, NOT SORRY with a whiskey base, compliments the creative craftsmanship of the cocktails. The creativity and balance of flavors in both cocktails were truly exceptional. Looking forward to returning for a more comprehensive tasting experience, including the tempting snacks we missed out on.I’m back for the holiday drinks and have this "PUMPKABOO" is a warm, comforting cocktail with Kabocha's “Japanese Pumpkin” sweet richness, Pandan's fragrant sweetness, and Oolong's complexity. Iwai 45 whisky and Mugi Hokka shochu provide a spirited kick and depth. Gran Classico adds balanced bitterness, while milk contributes creaminess. Topped with a marshmallow garnish, it's a cozy, indulgent richness. I enjoyed the unique blend of flavors!Cheers to Bar Iris for an evening well-spent!“
“Second time since 2021. While price has increased it still offers one of the best value in the area for tasting menu. Most of the courses are on point and creative. my favorite is the jidoji egg. The tortellini is a bit bland, but still good. I like that the atmosphere is intimate and unassuming.“
“Truly for "Friends Only!" Ten seats at an "L"-shaped raw bar. Got to chat and share experiences with all the guests AND the staff. Made a lot of "Friends" tonight and got to share dining at its finest and food of superior quality and taste!“
“My server clearly forgot to put in the roll I ordered and blamed the kitchen. My whole family was done eating and my roll arrived after everyone was already done. No apology, no comp. We own a restaurant as well and this is something that would never fly.“
“Incredible food and flavor. Very accommodating forwards GF diet and good service. We save this place for more special events because it's pricy but you definitely get what you pay for. The restaurant is a vibe not too loud it has a nice slightly casual elegance and a clean restroom. The beef tataki is a must order it's our favorite thing one the menu and when I go everyone orders their own beef tataki appetizer. Salmon sashimi melts in you mouth and anything they make scallops is delicious.“
“It was such a wonderful and enjoyable experience. Roger and the rest of the staff are incredibly loving and friendly. We could not have asked for a more memorable experience. Thank you so much for making us feel so loved and cared for!Ask for the sushi bar seats - you will not regret it! It is your very own omasake experience, but better because in addition to really good sushi, you get to enjoy Roger's company. Highly recommend the aged tuna, Norwegian mackerel, and Wagyu nigiri! Also, make sure to leave some room for their in-house ice cream and desserts!“
“We had an amazing time at sushi ran, one of the best sushi places we have been to, great ambience and service, highly recommend it.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Maki , edamame, seaweed salad, agedashi tofu veg , no miso soup add that had fish broth, lots of vegetables options.“
“Everything about Gozusf is unique. From the furnishings to the restrooms... yes the restrooms are next level. Every dish is presented as a work of art, and is filled with so much flavor it's hard to describe. You simply need to try EVERYTHING. The service is impeccable and this is an experience that should not be missed!“
“Came here for a quick bite for my kid before camp and after the eclipse! What a hidden little gem!!! Not a place to come and sit and eat. It is a TO GO place but there is one little table with two chairs. The couple are so amazing, welcoming, and caring!!! The food is delish and ready to go in just seconds! My daughter got the half teriyaki chicken and we got two orders of gyoza. The total was $12!!!! Then because they are so sweet they gave me a small sample of their beef curry. It has a little to good kick depending on your threshold for spice but the flavor is really good and the beef is super tender!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you stop by!!!“
“We had lunch at the Elephant Sushi on Grove, and it was a delight! We had a selection of artisan pickles; salt, vinegar and miso cured to compare, followed by a collar of fish with a sweet, crusty marinade! My favourite was a sushi roll steamed at the table in a foil pocket! Flavour explosion! My friends loved the raw offerings, (not my personal thing) served with fascinating garnishes like saffron stamens, and truffle shavings! The cocktails were strong, tasty, and well balanced to complement the sushi. I nearly got kicked off my chair by the Asian pear cocktail, with a beautiful marigold garnish! We sat there for about an hour and a half, trying different things! Highly recommend their food!“
“Atmosphere was awesome, such great vibes. Food was delicious, high quality and very very well made. Obviously the sushi rolls were good, but the appetizers were awesome too!We came as a part of four, were seated immediately at the bar and had an awesome time enjoying wonderful food!“
“Still a family favorite, since before we had kids, right??? Posted some photos of the rolls with fish the ladies got, creative and lots of yums and dividing of favorites. My veggie rolls were excellent! Smashing Pumpkins (tempura pumpkin) and the Garden Roll. Request the Avocado roll inside out! Pro tip: Happy Hour has legit deals and Bingo!!! The fries are in the picture because, they are delicious.“
“Amazing find! Quick counter service or grab and go items available (bento, rice balls, bowls / donburi). Selection features many classic Japanese flavors using local ingredients.Combinations vary or you can pick out items à la carte, but everything is worth it and delicious. We got combos and added items to have a feast that did not break the bank. Our meals easily could have cost $30.I highly recommend the agedashi tofu (veg main), mapo eggplant salad (with chicken or the vegetarian version), potato croquette, shrimp cake (huge but with whole shrimps and cooked to perfection). I would definitely return to try out their curry ? options (beef or mushroom) and possibly any seasonal changes.Service was amazing with all condiments and utensils provided with proper packaging. Service was quick despite a slight lunch weekday rush.No seating in the space itself, but plenty of shared outdoor tables or a few chairs near windows inside near Cholita Linda.Vegetarian options: At least one vegetarian salad (Japanese side dish), soup, or main available. On my visit, they were vegetarian mapo eggplant salad (possibly other options, I did not look closely at selection), ginger carrot soup, and agedashi tofu main (cold tofu with soy based and mushroom sauce). Mushroom curry was also available.“
“The food here was amazing! Highly recommend. We came in for a late seating so it wasn’t overly busy. The maki rolls were very unique and extremely delicious. Get the bluefin tuna sashimi, this is the best dish I’ve had at any sushi restaurant.“
“Saru is my neighborhood go-to spot for the best handrolls with the freshest ingredients. The team gives 101% to provide amazing service, and the sleek setting provides the perfect ambiance for a date night or catch up with a friend. Do yourself a favor and try the yuzu mocktail! It's refreshing and delicious.“
“I have visited this restaurant twice, and each visit was incredibly delicious. I'll be visiting many more times in the future as they might serve the best sushi I have ever tasted. The service is excellent as well. Tonight I found myself using the Shazam APP to save several of the songs that were playing in the restaurant. If you are ever in the area, do yourself a favor and visit Marina Sushi Bar. You will not be disappointed! 我喜欢这家餐厅。服务非常好,食物也令人印象深刻。“
“The best sushi I've ever had! I went during my vacation to SF, and you can definitely taste the difference compared to some of what is served back east. It was quiet when my family and I went, and they provided a cozy, friendly experience. The owner was very kind. I greatly recommend visiting if you're in the area.“
“This is a great place to get dinner before hitting your favorite bars on Polk. They had the freshest, tastiest sashimi! We got the Spoon Set A, I dont even know what 4 fishes they were but they were all great. Even my friend who doesnt particularly like slimy things enjoyed them. We also got the monkfish liver, toro handrolls, victoria secret roll and the spicy tuna roll.Plus, the waitress was so nice - they were fine with accomadating no cucumbers in our rolls. We came on a rainy Saturday evening so there was about a 5-10 minute wait to get seated - if you add your name to the waitlist on yelp beforehand I'm sure you wouldn't have to wait.“
“The first Japanese restaurant I have eaten at outside Japan that has the emphasis on quality, attention to detail, and customer service that is expected there. Not all the dishes were fantastic, but the overall experience was excellent. I'll try some different things next time.“
“My family and I have been coming to Yu Shang for 20+ years. The main staff are amazing. know us by name, and as we almost always get the same thing, remember our orders. Though are great with recommendations if we do want to try anything new. The restaurant itself has definitely seen better days, but it never feels like you have to rush when there. You catch up with the staff and enjoy a nice meal. Though it is a bit on the more expensive side, we think it's worth it. We go for special occasions or just when we miss the food. We usually get the mixed tempura, sizzling rice soup, curry chicken with mushrooms and broccoli, oyster sauce beef with mixed vegetables and a sizzling shrimp and mixed vegetables plate. 10% of the time, they might be inconsistent but not usually when dining in. Though be careful when ordering out. They're are consistently short with their portions when ordering out.“
“Sushi Tri is tremendously delicious and correctly priced. My only grievance is that when you get miso soup to go, they put it in a container that has a small hole in the lid and they do not double bag that container so by the time you get home most of the soup has sloshed into the bag that holds the full order. It’s very annoying. Otherwise, I adore Sushi Tri“
“Top notch service for fancy and a little pricey food. Rainbow roll is great but the cali 101 has wayyy too much cucumber so skip that. Spicy edamame is good but maybe not for the price. The uni on the ocean carpaccio seemed a little off but fine.Dietary restrictions: Good with gluten free recommendations“
“I had a delicious dinner from Chonmage last night. I've meant to try them for ages, and I'm so glad I finally did. I got the spicy miso ramen without meat, and damn, it was good. Chonmage is the only restaurant I've visited in San Rafael that makes something described as spicy as well... appropriately spicy. Typically, I need to visit restaurants in Marin multiple times and get to know the servers a bit before they give me something that brings the heat. That's not the case here! :) I asked for my dish not to have meat, and they substituted a nice amount of tofu. The broth was rich, flavorful without being too salty, and perfectly cloudy. I usually ask for chili oil to add to my ramen, but I didn't do that here and wouldn't have needed it. The noodles were cooked well, and the veggies were fresh. I ordered takeout and the customer service over the phone, and when I picked it up, it was very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant looks cute, and I look forward to returning and eating here in person.“
“Nomu Skewers near Union Square is a hidden gem that transports you straight to Tokyo. From the fresh sushi to the mouthwatering Kushiyaki, every bite is a culinary delight. Don't miss their Tsukune with raw egg yolk dip or the lobster tail skewers. With impeccable service and a cozy ambiance, this modern Izakaya-style restaurant is a must-visit in San Francisco.“
“Five stars all around for this hidden gem! What a delightful evening with a surprisingly delicious fusion of Japanese and Peruvian food! If you’re looking for something different and delicious Kaiyo Cow Hollow should be at the top of your list! Our son said order some fries (even though we were full already) so I asked why and he said because I KNOW the sauce is going to be amazing! And he was right! It’s a quaint small space so I definitely recommend making reservations. Can’t wait to come back again! Looking forward to visiting Kaiyo Rooftop as well!“
“?full stars for an amazing happy hour experience?I cant believe this spot has open tables when we came in at 530 to catch their happy hour.Everything was absolutely delicious, my favorite was the crab sunomono and the wagyu skewer. The pork kimchi and gyozas were also very tasty. The dishes that I thought were good but nothing to write home about were the fried chicken skin and agedashi tofu.Service was spectacular and the music and overall vibe was great. 10/10 will come again! For 3 people we paid $188 with tip, which included 2 cocktails.Vegetarian options: There are some veggie dishes on the menu, nuts it's predominantly meat based.“
“We were very hungry, chilled and tired. Delicious hot tea, chicken bento box with a large mound of steaming rice, tempura carrots and shrimp (!) and lovely sushi rolls. Sushi Kinta rescued us; the right place at the right moment, gracious and smiling!“
“This sushi spot is amazing! The sushi was made right in front of us and tasted very good. The place feels cozy and the people are very friendly. Definitely a top choice for anyone who loves good sushi. We were there during the happy hour 5:00-7:00, which offers lower prices on sushi. Highly recommend!“
“The food is great quality and great value! It hurts my heart to see how this place has been impacted by the decline of office workers in downtown SF. The people here are really kind and make great food. This is one of the places that deserves to make it and thrive! There is a great selection of bento boxes, sushi, and sweet treats. A really solid lunch spot that I return to again and again and again! I hope you will try it out as well!“
“They’ve been open for 5 years. Their ramen is made in-house. They’re as good, if not better, than the ramen I know. I had tonkatsu ramen with a chili miso shot. Excellent. Definitely recommend. Oh, and try their roasted green tea ice cream.“
“Ive lived in the neighborhood 39 yrs and have dined at the House of Sushi more times than i can count and have never seen a rat or been sickened by their food. The food is superb. My wife and i have turned numerous friends on to this place and all have become return customers. I highly recommend this restaurant .“
“We have eaten at Tenkyu a couple times now and have had a great experience and delicious sushi every time! Highly suggest sitting at the bar area and enjoying watching your rolls be made. The ingredients are fresh and rolls are full of flavor!“
“When I tell you I've been DREAMING about these onigiri ever since I got to try them on an SF visit 5 ish years ago, I'm not even kidding. And they still lived up to my expectations! Such a unique fun spot, terrific for folks who are gluten free, vegan, sesame free, or all of the above like me. I just hope you bring back the spicy wasabi as a side for takeout orders...from memory, it was incredible!“
“Was here on Christmas Eve, and the food, service, and ambience couldn’t have been better. Had clay pot dishes, both beef and tofu, assorted nigiri, Dragon roll - all wonderfully fresh, edamame, a shrimp tempura roll, and sake. We we all delighted. Thanks for adding to a beautiful Christmas Eve!“
“Tokyo Express, back in the early 2010's, used to be really popular with a line during lunchtime. Some of my old co-workers used to enjoy coming here. Business has sure when downhill since the pandemic. There was only one other table occupied at lunch time on a Wednesday. The staff was really busy however packing up to-go orders. I had their Wednesday special, the tonkatsu $13. The pork fillet was a bit dry and not juicy, tender and properly cooked. The panko had a nice crunch. It did come with an alright tonkatsu sauce. With this dish, it should come with shredded cabbage served with a miso-ginger dressing or Japanese sesame dressing, but it didn't come with it. Since this is not an authentic Japanese restaurant, I didn't knock off stars for that. Service was non-existent as this is an order at the counter style restaurant and no tea or water was served. There was a free cup of miso soup and my food came out in a reasonable amount of time.“
“Came here for a quick lunch with my team before an offsite. It was my first time, and upon first entering I immediately loved the vibe! It was so clean and welcoming with the bright decor. Since we came around 11:30 is was empty - which was perfect since we didn't feel pressure to order. Prices also weren't too bad from what I could see! I ended up ordering the Tempura Crunch Roll from the Japan section since I wanted something a bit light. I personally thought it was okay, but wouldn't order it again. I do admire the staff though - they were friendly and took dietary restrictions seriously! I have a coworker who has a gluten intolerance and when she asked about the ingredients to make sure she was able to have them, they were more than happy to check the ingredients list. They even circled back to make extra sure the sauces were okay for her to have. I would definitely come back next time I need lunch while I'm at the office to try the other dishes!“
“My ABSOLUTE favorite NO FRILLS Sushi restaurant. Tom and Wendy are WONDERFUL, and their service and attentiveness to their customers outstanding. The fish is always fresh, ample cuts. Being a "Bento" I don't typically eat Bento so I can't say much about their bento boxes; but my Mom loves em. Of course she does, she was married to one. haa ha haah All kidding aside, Fish-n-Gari is a solid traditional Sushi restaurant, prices are reasonble, service is great, and fish is DELICIOUS. My fave is the Sukura roll, Nigiri Sake, and Butterfish. I'm pretty picky, so I stick with what I know and what I know is, when I'm looking for some great reasonbly priced FRESH Sushi - Fish-n-Gari is my go to place and it should be yours too. :^)“
“An absolute gem! My friend and I were looking for a new spot for sushi that we hadn't tried yet and were so glad we found Atami. It was unassuming at first but highly delivered. We went around 5:45 and we were the first ones inside but it quickly became packed with not an open seat left. Everything we tried was soooo delicious and slightly different than your normal menu (we ordered chef specials- they also have the normal go-tos). Prices were reasonable. Highly recommend!“
“I dined here on a weekday and few others were present. The vibe was calm, and the meal was lovely with generous slices of very fresh and attractively presented fish, crisp daikon & shiso, and excellent service -- when I asked for more lemon and shiso, it came immediately. The miso with clams was great, and the chef's sampler provided me with ample variety: salmon, fatty tuna, albacore, & escolar. My only ask is that they offer the option of normal and not just low-sodium soy sauce as that condiment choice is a crucial element of the experience.“
“Yikes. Don’t get the chicken teriyaki bowl. It tastes like old/cheap chicken and it doesn’t come with veggies. Just teriyaki sauce poured on top. The rice was fine, so that’s all I ate. So disappointed. Paid $11.95 for the bowl. Luckily I enjoyed their Thai iced tea with boba and lychee. Can’t expect the food at a boba shop to be exquisite but this bowl was just a waste of money.“
“There is no place like Fukusuke! I have followed them from Sausalito to their Larkspur location. I have been going to Fukusuke since the early 90’s. Warren and Mama San are so kind and attentive. This is a family run restaurant and they treat their customers like family ! Great food, experience and people.“
