“Miso soup was good; not super flavorful but at least not overly salty like so many. Donburi was served in a flat plate with protein on top, rather than in the traditional bowl. I like the change; easier to get a mixed chopstick full of protein and rice. There is a lovely outdoor space where you could enjoy watching the bike path traffic but unfortunately it was not usable during my visit due to yellow jackets.“

“We love Keiko Fish! Always very accommodating of our kids and patient. The food is amazing! Recommend going if you are not on a tight timeline as it can get very busy which impacts pace of service. If you are not with kids, best to sit at the bar!“

“This was a FABULOUS dinner - I could not have asked for more!! The atmosphere was calm but still lively on this Saturday night. There was jazz playing lightly in the background intermingled with the content chatter of the patrons. I sat outdoors with patio lanterns and kept pleasantly comfortable with warnth coming from overhead heating. My dinner was fantastic, plenty of vegetarian options and I was not feeling rushed but had only a short wait for my order. You know it is great offerings when there is a constant flow of take out orders. The service here was EXCELLENT - ABOVE AND BEYOND!“

“It’s easy to find sushi restaurants with high-quality fish these days, but good shari (the rice) is still hard to come by in San Francisco. The moment the chef told everyone to eat the sushi right away, I knew he really knew what he was doing. Sure enough, when he placed it on the plate, the shari gently sank - perfect texture. Saw someone complaining that the rice fell apart… you belong at a place that serves edamame and California rolls 👋 lol“

“Highly recommend this hidden gem!
We had a wonderful Father’s Day dinner here, and everything exceeded our expectations. The waitstaff and the friendly girls at the door who seated us were all fantastic—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Everyone took the time to explain the specials and answer questions, which made the experience feel personal and special.
The portions were generous and the food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. As a nice touch, they even took a Polaroid picture of us with their own camera to commemorate the occasion—what a thoughtful gesture!
This was a great dinner overall, and we’ll definitely be back. Perfect spot for a memorable meal with family. Thank you to the whole team!“

“Our new favorite SF spot! Unbelievably delicious. We had the beef curry and udon. The couple who own the restaurant were so friendly and helpful. I cannot believe we paid so little for so much savory food! You can walk a quick block and sit in the nearby park. We will definitely come to Yo Yo's when in town!“

“We had a great experience here! The tuna was fresh and buttery and everything we ordered was delicious. Prices were very good for the quality.
We also tried the chef’s Japanese sushi set. Not every type of fish was our favorite but it was a great way to try a variety of unique fish we hadn’t had before!
The eel hand rolls were another highlight absolutely delicious!
We came during Happy Hour so it was an even better value. The food came out quickly!
We made a reservation in advance. When we arrived there was a tablet to check in but we were seated before we even had a chance to use it haha. Fantastic experience and we’d definitely come back!“

“First timers here, but it won't be my last. Absolutely one of the freshest and most tasteful sushi restaurants I have been to in a long time. I ate 6-7 dishes (try the scallops special off-menu), and everything was fantastic. The owner and her staff are very gracious making the dining experience even more pleasant. Go try it. You won't be disappointed.“

“Of all of our favorite places to eat, this is one my wife and I count as the very top tier.
The service is always excellent. We've never asked for anything to not receive it or have the item forgotten about, they are always quick to accommodate, and every person who works here is friendly and well mannered.
As for the food, it is the best sushi I've ever had next to Bamboo in Portland (and still, I think I prefer Sushi Tri). When we're travelling, we now frequently overlook sushi places simply because the fear is that we will just miss what we get at Sushi Tri.
We are creatures of habit, so usually, we order any combination of the pork gyoza, the California hand rolls, the King Dragon Roll, the Mount Fuji Roll, and the spicy tuna tacos. More often than not, we will order all of these things, if we aren't trying something new, and often, we'll walk out considering coming right back in for more in a disguise, so we don't look as shameful as we feel wanting more when we're full (but looking ridiculous isn't off the table). Their ramen is also fantastic, and among my favorites.
The dining area is always spotless, and is very comfortable. If you're worried about missing an important game when having dinner out, they've got that covered, too. We've never had too much trouble getting a seat here, but it does get busy, because it is, indeed, the best.
We recommend Sushi Tri to literally anyone who comes into Marin.“

“Came here after a long work day and it was so awesome.
Good:
- The sushi was amazing- we just split 5 rolls amongst 3 of us and it was just enough food
- I liked the sunflower roll and the lion king roll and the baked rolls - the baked ones come with smaller portion sizes though
- The staff are very nice and service comes quick - especially for some of the more popular rolls
- Tasty cucumber salad and edamame
- Very clean interior
Bad:
- The place is pretty small so limited seats available
- Gets expensive
Overall this place was so tasty and would come again!“

“Only stopped by this place for a quick drink, but it definitely left a great impression. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu next time. The drink menu features plenty of options including those from Japan.
The edamame ended up being the highlight of our visit, which was done really well!
Service was great throughout, and we really enjoyed the overall vibe of the place. It had a relaxed atmosphere that made it easy to settle in, even for a short stop.
Would definitely return and recommend checking it out!“

“After many personal recommendations had to go check out bar Iris for myself. Incredibly crafted cocktails in an amazing bar and seating area. Not only were they delicious but the looked great too! Very fancy menu with very helpful star chart to explain how the flavors of the drink are balanced.“
“Tokyo Express, back in the early 2010's, used to be really popular with a line during lunchtime. Some of my old co-workers used to enjoy coming here. Business has sure when downhill since the pandemic. There was only one other table occupied at lunch time on a Wednesday. The staff was really busy however packing up to-go orders. I had their Wednesday special, the tonkatsu $13. The pork fillet was a bit dry and not juicy, tender and properly cooked. The panko had a nice crunch. It did come with an alright tonkatsu sauce. With this dish, it should come with shredded cabbage served with a miso-ginger dressing or Japanese sesame dressing, but it didn't come with it. Since this is not an authentic Japanese restaurant, I didn't knock off stars for that. Service was non-existent as this is an order at the counter style restaurant and no tea or water was served. There was a free cup of miso soup and my food came out in a reasonable amount of time.“

“I've been a regular at Saru Hand Rolls for a while, and the food is always a 10/10 hit. My favorites are the eel and spicy scallop. Absolutely delicious as well as excellent and fast service.
But what happened tonight was next-level hospitality. I realized after leaving that I accidentally left my retainer on the table. I went back to check if it was still there, but it wasn't of course—thrown away during table clean up. As I was leaving, Christian (a staff member at Saru) literally chased me down the street, told me to come back, and went to dig through the trash for five minutes. He found it, washed it, and gave it back to me (I washed the retainer thoroughly after as well of course).
Shoutout to Christian for going completely above and beyond, and to Kevin who was super welcoming and chatted with me during my dumbfoundedness at Christian’s unreasonable hospitality.
Best service (and hand rolls) in SF, hands down.“

“Got lunch with a couple other people. There were lots good options but if you want to pick from everything get there when they open. I got a hand roll and a teriyaki salmon bowl and shared the special roll. I liked the hand roll the best and also enjoyed the cabbage in the teriyaki bowl. The special roll was just shrimp tempura topped with imitation crab, some sauces, and roe. I plan to try another roll next time I go there. It’s a pretty tight space and you have to go some else to eat it. Great place to grab something quickly and get back to work“

“I have been here 3x now and have had great food and great service. Mix and match Bento Box and Tempura are fresh. Everyone else around me always gets Sushi and I hear them say how good it is (I have not been adventurous enough to try Sushi). It is on Pine and Grant, extremely clean and nice view of Chinatown. Very reasonable prices. :)“

“Place is great. Great customer service. The sushi's are amazing and yes, all you can eat for $40. Place has people conversing and a soccer game showing but best of all is the sushi. Worth visiting. Park from behind 4th street, you'll get a 2 hour limit parking fee for 75 cents and hour. The place has a fair amount of tables. My Pastor referred me and I tried. At first the male waiter didn't recognize me as a customer until I spoke up but the female customer who took over was nicer to me. Didn't charge me for the extra dish I couldn't finish for this one time only but gave her a big tip. Even though some discrimination took place I enjoyed it.“

“Steve went out of his way to answer a question concerning the food selection choices.
Internet google search showed this SF location maybe close because of the Memorial Day Holiday, but took a chance to walk down from Chinatown and was pleasantly surprised.
Bought meals for the day for myself and sister.
Thanks SF, Kearney St - Onigilly“
