“I wanted to take a moment to share my experience at Morning Glory Cafe. A week ago, I made a reservation for a group of 11 people, and when we arrived, the table was perfectly set and ready for us. However, after we placed our orders, we waited over an hour and a half without receiving any food. This was brought to the attention of the staff, and understandably, frustration began to build on our end. Fortunately, the manager, Adolfo, addressed the situation beautifully. He sincerely apologized for the delay and explained that there had been a miscommunication regarding our order, which led to a significant mistake. To make amends, they comped our meals, which was greatly appreciated. Our waitress, Helen, was also very sincere in her apology. In a time when many establishments struggle to admit their errors, Morning Glory Cafe stood out by acknowledging their mistake and taking responsibility. “This is my all time favorite Dive Bar! The staff is great along with the crowd/customers. Compared to Palooka’s customers, @Cheers the crowd is a lot more friendlier, pleasant, and just kind of wholesome? I’ve never even so much have gotten a bad look from someone here. At Palookas, I’ve been harassed by two males through out the night just by mentioning in our casual conversation that I was Italian? And my parents, brother, and sister in law were all jumped (pretty brutally) years ago at Palooka’s. @cheers I have never even so much questioned my safety or getting into a confrontation.

Recently I had visited the reptile shop next door to @Cheers and had scanned the flyers outside of their door. I was absolutely devastated to had found out that J.J. (The bouncer) has passed away. He was the first person of contact when entering the bar and every time I saw him I got even more excited to be there. I didn’t know his name, but I knew his face. J.J really set the tone for having a good night @Cheers, very kind, was a good sport of joking around, and at times had provided me company/grounding when I was having anxiety and stepped out to the smoke area. We would talk for a bit while I was in the gated area and he was at the door. Nothing too crazy, but just enough to settle my mind and distract me from how I was feeling. I don’t know if he knew I was struggling with anxiety, but he was very gracious and helpful. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, J.J was not only loved by his family and friends, but also by the community that goes to @Cheers.“

We did not have a reservation, and the restaurant was busy, but that didn’t stop the manager and the bartender from giving us top notch service. They were both incredibly kind and attentive. “Ordered the 3 item combination (chili relleno, steak burrito, and cheese enchilada) and the Chilaquiles with 2 scrambled eggs. The chilaquiles were good (red sauce had good flavor) and the red sauce on the enchilada was also great. The enchilada was good, could have used a little more cheese, but was tasty. The chili relleno was the best item on the combination platter and the steak burrito wasn't that good (recommend getting a different item). Plates had great presentation. Service was ok - the man was nice but was busy doing other things so we didn't see him much - no refill on waters or checking on us after bringing food and waited a while for the check.“

“The girl taking our order did not know what carbonation is. I asked what uncarbonated drinks they have, she told me rootbeer and slice. Oy Vei! Those are decaffeinated. Not uncarbonated. They need more schooling. I am just saying. Plus the hushpuppies were saturated with oil.“
