I've eaten a lot of green chili, and this is probably the best. Creamy, savory, almost buttery. Absolutely delicious. I'll be back for more!
Yum! Great chili rellanos. A little different taste since they are made with american cheese instead of Monterey jack, but still yummy!
One of the few places that I’ve been to recently that feel like Denver before the big population boom. Servers were friendly, checked up on us often. I believe the owner came over and asked us if we want more guac. They have an incredible bar space that’s huge that appears to be used for storage and I’d love to see that space be revitalized. La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant offers a warm, no-frills dining experience that feels like a step back in time to Denver’s earlier days. It is a family-owned place where the atmosphere is simple and charming, featuring bright Broncos orange seating and a large bar space that could benefit from revitalization. The restaurant exudes a humble and authentic vibe, free from trendy pretensions, making it a refreshing spot for those seeking genuine Mexican food. Service is generally friendly, attentive, and welcoming, with staff often checking on guests and even engaging in friendly chats, including occasional visits from the owner.
The menu features popular Mexican dishes such as smothered green chili chicken tacos, super burritos with chicken and beans, flautas with queso, and sopapillas served with honey and cinnamon sugar. The green chili is especially notable, delivering a flavor reminiscent of childhood with tender, flavorful chicken. The food is typically hot, well-cooked, and delicious, though on some visits, food quality and service have been inconsistent, with issues like lukewarm dishes, missing items on takeout orders, and limited drink options during busy events.
La Fiesta hosts live events and mariachis, adding to its lively, cultural atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the cleanliness and readiness of the space, and many recommend it for lunch or casual outings. Overall, it’s a place that meets expectations for authentic, old-school Mexican cuisine, with a friendly vibe that makes guests feel at home, despite occasional service hiccups during busy times.
