Second Street Tavern Bar • $
127 W 2nd St, Eagle

“Second Street Tavern opened in August 2023 and you should check it out! It's located in the building previously occupied by Bonfire Brewing, and the co-owner of Second Street actually worked at Bonfire Brewing as the tap manager for several years -- talk about coming full circle. The focal point of the interior is the large horseshoe-shaped bar right in the middle. There is also both indoor and outdoor seating, with garage style windows on one side for when the weather's nice. The best part though, might be the wall to wall TV's, making Second Street a great spot to catch a game. The drinks are incredibly reasonable in price, and they have great happy hour specials -- Monday through Friday from 4:30-7:00pm, with a handful of beers for $2-3 and $5 select liquors. If you're looking for food, you can find it at the La Diosa food truck Welcome to Eagle, Second Street!“

Also fantastic adult beverages too. Huge food menu with tons of choices and super friendly staff! Best ice cream spot in town! My kiddos beg to go! Sundae’s, cones, milkshakes, slushy, soft serve… they have it all! Great summer patio dining spot! Very kid friendly! Would recommend to anyone!“

“We’ve been visiting our son who just recently moved to the Vail Valley, and have enjoyed trying all the restaurants the town of Eagle has to offer! Our experience at El Segundo was enjoyable. The service and atmosphere was exceptional, but the food was lacking. We ordered the ceviche and it came out looking a little “gray” in color, and tasted as if it had been sitting out for a little longer than it should have. The chips and queso were delicious, and I really enjoyed my taco salad. My husband ordered the crispy pork belly taco, the cod, and the hot Korean taco. The Hot Korean was the only one he enjoyed enough to finish, and it just seemed like the prices were a little high for the portions we received! However the service and atmosphere were enough to want to visit again, so we will be back on our next visit to Eagle!“

ATM Machine at Brush Creek Saloon Bars • $$
241 Broadway St, Eagle

“We arrived in Eagle after a bumpy flight and no food so we were hungry and this is a bit of a food desert. Brush Creek came up as a good place for a burger so off we went. Make no mistake. This is a dive bar. Nothing wrong with a dive bar but you need to be aware before you visit. This is not some G Wagon haven like many restaurants in CO. I can fit in nearly anywhere and even I felt a little out of place. The locals only vibe was strong but we felt no animosity from said locals. In fact, the service was pretty friendly albeit a little slow. The burger was solid. I love a good burger and theirs would qualify. The fries were decent but nothing special. Hand cut fries would've been an improvement. But the burger seemed hand formed and was cooked and seasoned perfectly. If you land at Eagle and want a burger, make sure to add Brush Creek to your list.“

“I only tried the chorizo queso but it was really good. The bartender never offered me sweetener nor asked how my food was - otherwise I'd have given more stars for the service - but I am not going to let that stop me from going back to try something else off their menu! It is one of the original buildings in town, too, so be sure to make it a destination if you are visiting Vail!“

“Fantastic hidden mountain spot!Enjoyed my visit earlier today, got the Creek Side Burger with Truffle Fries. Asked for it to be cooked medium and was right on the money. All of the veggies that was prepared separately were nice, crispy and fresh! My waitress was amazing ? she was on top of her game and made sure that I was taken care of quickly. She made sure to recommend the prime rib as well! Will be back again in the near future!“

Archetype Distillery Distilleries • $$
458 Plane Street, Gypsum - 4.97 miles

“This was a great experience! From the front door to the bar, it is beautiful. Michael and Wade are great hosts. In house distilled artisan vodka and gin. Try a flight and you will not be disappointed. Smoked gin and vodka really ramp up the taste. The atmosphere was terrific! Brick and glass interior walls were spectacular. Well Done Michael!“
