“As a local I know how difficult it can be to eat out during the Holidays in a small town like Fairplay. In response to the reviewer who accused the folks at Salado of being racist - I was sitting next to your VERY large group that showed up without a reservation (during a holiday week). I heard you ask for multiple spit checks (like, Check #1 would include the guy at table 3, his kid at table 5 and his other kid at table 6; Check #2 would include the Matriarch of the family, another person at a different table and a third person at a completely different table). I also heard you complain about the prices of the amazing, handcrafted entrees before you stood up and declared "Forget this, we're leaving"; or some nonsense like that. Maybe your next vacation should be somewhere that has a Chuck E Cheese. Salado is Amazing. That is all.Parking: On Street ParkingWheelchair accessibility: One of the few places in Fairplay that can handle a wheelchair“
“Our group was from out of town, and it felt like everybody else knew each other in this place. Buffalo burgers received good marks, and I enjoyed my French Dip sandwich. Other reviews seemed accurate as well, preparing me for the experience.“
“"Boyyy howdyy!" Is how my husband described his first bite. For my Texans traveling through to Breckenridge. STOP! HERE! This is not a drill. We moved from Texas about a year ago and have found Colorado food to be bland as all get out. This place was everything we've been missing. Seasoning, actual spice (not just green chilli), hot and fresh, quick and kind service from the guys running the truck. It was really all that!!!Wish I had a genie to grant me 3 wishes... wish I could give more than 5 stars, wish this was much closer to me, wish I knew about this much sooner!“
“I’ve enjoyed dining at all of the different incarnations of the South Park Saloon for a number of years but I will say that I do like the style of the current menu.As you’d expect, Winter here along the Continental Divide tends to adversely affect the availability of seasonal items on any menu and the Saloon is no different.Personally I don’t think you’ll ever go wrong ordering the chicken tenders or the house burger. It helps that a friend takes care of all things kitchen-related when she’s working so I may be just a little spoiled. For a good mountain town meal, great bar selection, friendly service, and other customers that can be interesting at the very minimum, you’ll enjoy your time at the South Park Saloon. It’s a one of a kind little place, nestled high along the peaks of the Continental Divide. Stop on in!“
“We stopped in from Salida on the way back to Boulder. The Cobb Salad and River Ribs were fantastic and I must mention how nice Pete and Lisa were to all their customers, and even those folks who were just strolling around the town on a pleasant Sunday afternoon! We'll be seeing you again.“
