“I lived in this area in 2009 and discovered this little gem. I moved back to my home state of Michigan in 2010 but still have my whole family in West Haven, so I still come to town every 3-4 years to visit, and when I do? You best believe i am making a pit stop in here for a pastrami sub. 😋 This is 100% the best deli i have ever been to. The man and woman running it are the sweetest people, they always remember us when I mention we are from Michigan, and the food? Absolutely phenomenal. The steak subs? Delicious. The Italian combo? Large and full of flavor and toppings. However, the pastrami will always have my heart. No where even back in Michigan compares. 100/10. Go support this business. They do take forever to make your pizza on busy days, regardless it is well worth waiting for. I'm assuming the pizza would be less expensive if they didn't charge so much for toppings. Being a mix of Italian, Polish, and Ukrainian the Carpathian area has seen so much reorganizing in the last 100 years. I was happy that when I mentioned Galicia to the shop keeper and they recognized the old political entity and it's geography. Sounds like Krakow was the Nexus of the area. Love the Keibasa, perogies, horseradish and baked goods. Proud to be of Polish descent every time I visit.“

“Although they messed up my order and did not deliver the salad and desserts, I have to say what they did deliver was absolutely delicious. I called Ariel and he said the next time I come he would give me what Door Dash didn’t deliver. The rice and beans were really something special. The chicken was perfect and the plantains could not be prepared better. I was impressed and will be going back. Mistakes happen, I get it. But great food doesn’t happen. And this place delivers the later. I should be mad, honestly, but what came was so good all I have is a smile and an extremely satisfied tummy. Great food!

This is a follow up to my earlier review. Lo Ina Latina Deli is Waterbury’s hidden gem. Their chicken. Is the best I have ever had. There fried pork was off the charts. Perfectly prepared. Just excellent.
