“Coming home this afternoon from a class at the Y, I thought about what to have for lunch. As I approached the light in Deep River, I decided to stop and see what the nest had to offer. I came home with a warm ham and Bree sandwich on a beautiful brioche bun and it did not disappoint. It was truly a treat on this chilly day as I continue with their warm chi latte made with almond milk. Lucky to have them close by! Sosse Baker“

“Two Wrasslin’ Cats! What a fun and amazing place! Tucked away in the beautiful countryside in East Haddam, we found a sweet, colorful café that’s all about cats… but actually, it’s about so much more. To sum it up in a word, Two Wrasslin Cats is about love, love for all people, love for equality peace, and freedom, love of good food AND love for cats! I mean… they had me at cats, the rest? Merely an amazing bonus! We started out in the café, a fun, eclectic space decorated with cat memorabilia and a menu of cat-themed homemade, gourmet sandwiches. This is not your junky pre-made stuff! The sandwiches were fresh and delicious. My veggie wrap was full of fresh flavorful roasted veggies and my friend had a great tuna sandwich. Our coffee drinks were expertly crafted and not too sweet. We came for the cats, but we really enjoyed the food! After lunch, we waited a few minutes to get in to visit with the cats, a gorgeous family of six littermate siblings that have grown up together at Two Wrasslin’ Cats. These kitties know their role is to be calm and chill and to welcome pets and indulgence from strangers and they do it very well! What nice, sweet, peaceful felines. It was a pleasure to meet each one. We got a chance to speak with the owner about his beautiful and unique mission and his passion shines through with every word. What a pleasure. Guests are asked to make a donation when they visit the kitties and the money goes to help spay and neuter feral cats in the local area - a great cause. Our visit to Two Wrasslin Cats was great fun. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by for lunch and some quality time with the kitties. While you’re there, drop a little extra in the donation box to help further this fabulous mission.“

“Nice place right on the main street in Essex. The cashier was very friendly. I was one of only 3 people in the place at first. It all went well until the barista decided to make the 5 drinks for the guy who came in after me first. It appeared that the customer was friends with the people working. Shouldn't have happened. I can only hope it was an oversight and not a blatant jump over a customer.“

“Love this place!! I came in close to Christmas and Mike helped me put a beautiful gift box together even though I had missed the deadline. It was a huge hit and we are still enjoying it! My Dad loved the cheeses that Mike selected. Thanks again for being so kind and accommodating me on a very busy day❤️🙏“

“I ordered a lemon-flavored birthday cake with buttercream frosting. The cake was made with the freshest of ingredients, was moist, and was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Everyone commented on how flavorful the cake was, but the artistic talent of the baker/decorator took centerstage!!! The cake was so beautiful, we didn’t want to cut into it!!! If you decide to order a cake from Sweet Harmony you will not be disappointed!!!“
“The coffee is always made just right, the people are especially time efficient and kind, and the space is usually calm with clean tables. Good Dunkin! Only wish is that there were french crullers available (if they are they haven't been out while I've visited)“
“Leaving a positive review about Wheatmarket almost seems pointless as I have never heard a complaint. I love this place so so much. The food is super reasonably priced, consistent, fast, staff is beyond wonderful and the cookies are top tier. So lucky to have it in town 💙“

“We LOVE Olive Oyl’s. In the 20 years we’ve lived in Tri-town, it’s our family go to at least once on the weekends. When the kids are home for school breaks throughout the year they frequent Olive Oyl’s several times a week. We love the vibe, the food, location, and especially Kevin and Jen! We are lucky to have such a great place so close to home!“

“I have been complaining about Dunkin Donuts at the corner of Rt66/17 for years to them and nothing comes of it. If you drive thru their drive thru after ordering food, when you get to the register, there is a small box outside the window that is supposed to tell you the price of your food, Since it has been broken for the past 5 years (and they are not fixing git) It read "NOTHING", so that is what you should pay for the food for. So in conclusion FREE DUNKIN DONUTS PRODUCT IF YOU BUY IT THRU THE DRIVE THRU. 😎🤡😎🤡😎“

“I fell in love with this adorable little spot! So cute and friendly and delicious food and coffee and pastries. They even have a little market with grab and go stuff and honestly, you could spend your day here working quietly and have 2 full meals and a snack lol. And prob no one would say a word to you. Prices are reasonable and the food feels homemade and fresh. We were visiting and it's always fun to find local spots like this one that seem to be part of the lifeblood of the town. Such a lively little vibe while still serene. I saw people alone working, people having lunch with their adult kids, couples having a late breakfast, and people grabbing a quick lunch on their breaks. I can see why! Food was excellent from the crepes to the sandwiches but the vibe is hard to beat!“

“Last 4 or more times going it has been completely awful! I go before work and order a PUMPKIN coffee, well one expects pumpkin in it NOT having it still taste regular yet for my large it said 1 pump pumpkin which it’s supposed to automatically be 4. I also had Skim milk and they put cream. This morning my Husband ordered and I got it back cold, no flavor, and leaking. Disgusting! You waiting forever in the drive though lately and even with the sticker on the coffee it comes out wrong and nasty. They need to pay attention to what the stickers say and make more coffee not serve cold or burnt coffee to people! Worst one in town and the other one hasn’t always been the best either but a bit better than that one.“
“Belgian and Swiss Chocolates, coffee, ice cream and gifts. Really, you had me at “chocolate” 😋.“
“Not many vegan options... The only protein option they have for sandwiches is hummus, and most of the time they don't have any in stock! Pretty disappointing to drive all the way there to realize they don't have anything you want to eat. All the other food is good, if a little pricey. Yummy smoothies and soup“

“Cozy sandwich shop that offers breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I only like doing a Google review if the spot hits. My friends and I got the western breakfast sandwich, a hash brown and egg on a hard roll, and a tuna salad sandwich. We also got a raspberry chocolate and Vermont maple iced coffees that tasted exactly like their names! The sandwiches were so fresh and the tuna salad slapped it was so good!!!! The lady running the shop was very nice and was fast in making the food. We could see her making it and everything looked fresh and the kitchen was very clean. Highly recommend this little gem as we stopped in on the way down to Clinton outlets.“
