We stopped in during Middletown Pride today and not only was the restaurant unique, with a very boricua aesthetic, very much upscale island vibes, with swing seats, cultural decor, but the music was incredible! The drinks were beautiful and delicious, but THE FOOD. Omg. Incredible. They may not have planned for the Pride crowds because our server, Jennifer was handling all the tables, inside and out, but she did it with grace. I will definitely be back!“

“I just read a story about these people went to eat and witness something was so totally wrong . A trooper came into this restaurant and was refused service. All these was based on the owners feelings about the law enforcement. These men and women put thier life’s on the line to protect everyone including you Mr. Owner. This puts a bad taste in my mouth about the owner , not the restaurant. This owner has good people working for him and they do make good food. However I will never go to this restaurant ever again. All this happened two hours after the Bristol’s policeman was killed on duty.“

(We had Cuban Sliders, Calamari and loaded plantain nachos). It was nice to have a unique restaurant experience for a change. “Overall, I had a good experience at The Common House Kitchen & Bar. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was comfortable and enjoyable. Most of the food was very good, although a few menu items advertised fries, onion rings, or berries as included, but they weren't. The chicken pasta was a bit disappointing and lacked flavor, but everything else we ordered was well prepared and enjoyable. I'd still come back and try more items from the menu.“

“It’s a cheap local dive lives up to what you would need from a watering hole. Inexpensive drinks, not pretentious, mainly plastic cups, good people. First time, walked in and had a small chat with a patron before the night was done. Plus, unlike some other aptly named Irish pubs, they do have Guinness *cough obrians*. Decent draft list too for a small local. Didn’t play, but seems like a good setup for darts too. I might not take a date or the wife for low key dinner and drinks, but after work or a friend for a cheap blow off steam evening? Absolutely.“

“13 of us went there to celebrate my mom's 85th and we're lucky and got the upstairs. We had Samantha as our server who went way above what was expected. We had the very reasonable priced buffett..the food was good, the chef was on hand and very friendly. Drinks very reasonably priced. This was our 3rd family celebration there and an plan to use them for more.“

“I’m not sure why the recent reviews I’m reading through now are on the negative side! My husband and I accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant (we happened to be in the area), and immediately were met with excellent hospitality. I am gluten free and vegetarian, so finding a place with kind servers and food I can eat is becoming increasingly difficult. They serve complimentary bread up front (which most restaurants don’t even bother with anymore) and have an option for gluten free bread(if you ask for it) at a slight up-charge. I ordered the Korean rice bowl and my husband ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese..the food came out super fast and was delicious. I have a very low spice tolerance, so I thought my bowl was on the slightly spicier side..but it’s Korean style food so that’s to be expected. We ordered a peanut butter bar for dessert, also gluten free. I didn’t get a picture unfortunately, but it’s was super rich but not too sweet. Definitely worth the trip!! People need to start writing more positive reviews for places because this restaurant definitely deserves more positivity.“

“I rarely visit bars but I do like trying new places before passing judgement. When I walked in to the restaurant, I thought it was more open and contemporary than I expected, which was good. We were there for a Linner on a Monday so it was not busy. It was not very well lit. Which is always a problem for us because my partner is legally blind. There were 4 regulars at the bar who turned around stared at us, then cracked a joke which got them laughing at our expense. We decided to eat out on the patio as it was a nice day. The patio was clean. The tables had umbrellas which provided needed shade. We were served right away, with a smile. Our server Bonnie was really nice and brought out drinks and refills as needed. She automatically brought the extra napkins and the utensils at the beginning. The order was as requested mostly, but I'd say my burger was undercooked. I asked for medium but it was very medium rare and in the thickest part rare rare rare. Because I'll eat hamburgers just about anyway, and I will never ever send food back. (There is a story there, a word to the wise, don't send food back in any restaurant, evet) I didn't say a word about it. So you might want to go medium well if you like medium. Apart from that, it was a very pleasant experience.“
