“Great food and good people“

“Very nice experience. As a solo diner, ordering a pizza—as recommended—wasn’t practical for me, but the packed parking lot on a Thursday night was a great sign that the locals truly enjoy this place. The process is simple: place your order, then choose a table. A unique touch was receiving a playing card as my order number. I ordered the meatballs and Italian-seasoned wings, along with a house Cabernet. No Spirits here, but great selection of Barley pops and wine however. For an extra nickel, I received a refill token in the form of a casino coin—such a novel idea that I had to play along. The drink service lagged a bit, either because the restaurant was busy or because I failed to pick up my Cabernet at the counter. The meatballs arrived first: three large, flavorful meatballs served in a ramekin with marinara and melted cheese. I chose three meatballs with a side salad instead of four, and it was the perfect amount. The wings arrived shortly after I finished. I chose the Italian-seasoned, baked wings. They were very tasty, although I generally prefer fried wings—though the baked option was probably the better choice for me that evening. Overall, this was a very reasonably priced dinner, and I didn’t feel too bad passing on one of the amazing-looking pizzas. Torrington has clearly maintained the East Coast pizza tradition and reputation. A stop here won’t disappoint.“

“We decided to give Vivaldi’s a shot tonight after a long day at work. We hadn’t had it before, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. This pizza is as good as any pizza in Avon/Canton and better than several. This is really a carry out place… there is a booth in there, but seriously, take it with you.

We had a mushroom pizza and it was great. Baked just the way we like it. We will be back for sure.“

“Outstanding food! I’ve stopped here twice and love the effort on the obvious “homemade” efforts that makes it so good. Chowder was great, and the 30 year old recipe for the lasagna (as the menu boasts) did NOT disappoint. Try this spot, don’t rush or be in a hurry, and enjoy the food and obvious effort that’s put into to making it as good as it truly is. I plan on continuing to explore the menu and specials when they’re to be had. Enjoy!“

“I was in the area and decided to take a chance and Grab a cup and char pepperoni pizza. let me just say, if you're from the area you are lucky to have this close by. The pizza I had was absolutely delicious. 8.6 from me on the pepperoni. The Buffalo didn't do it for me, likely because I tried the Pepperoni first and in my mind nothing was going to compare.“

Update-we stopped in last night ,and the Owner and my friend with the great beard wer AWESOME! These guys wer floored with customers and worked like a well oiled machine together. Coming out with some of the BEST food around ,especially in this town! You have brought our faith in spending money out on food ! Tyguys!! I recommend the meatball sub ,or crispy chicken salad !;)

“We used to get Dominos out of Torrington. Winsted branch opening was really convinient news. There was an issue with my first order, but it was resolved by the store manager the next day with full courtesy, and that deserves a positive review.
I also dont think also that anyone who's preference is local going to switch to dominos and vise-versa - its completely different experience, neither better than the other, its all a matter of tastes vary between people's preferences.

“We've been ordering delivery every Friday for the past several months. The food is always warm, made correctly (special requests), handled w/care, and delivered in a timely manner. Excellent variety on their menu and the point system allows us a free dinner or appetizer on occasion. No complaints whatsoever. We think People's Choice is great!“

Besides the great food at Sophia's Stephanie makes our visits wonderful she is extremely good at her job. Stephanie is warm, friendly, and kind she really pays attention to make sure we are happy and everything comes out exactly how we ordered it every time. The cooks and owners are wonderful too. A real giant Thank you to the owners of Sophia's to clear the way for my wife and have our favorite meal Cavatelli with sauce on days Stephanie is not working. That meant so much to us. We are both grateful. I repair Pianos for a living and have given 26 Years of piano service at Yale, The Warner Torrington and the Palace in Waterbury plus over 1,000 in home customers. I tell everyone how great the food is a Sophia's! and that they must give it a try.“

“This is their best location. Right by the Farmington river. Drinks are avg. food is good. The view is what brings me back. Service is good for the most part. Their apps are probably above avg to similar venues.“

We ordered: Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, garlic cheese bread, chicken parm over ziti, eggplant parm over penne alla vodka, cavatelli with garlic,olive oil, sausage, chicken, and broccoli. Dessert was Tiramisu, limoncello cake, and New York cheesecake. Family atmosphere. They also have a private room you can book for parties. You can eat in the bar area or restaurant. The service is always excellent. It’s a shame I can’t post pictures here.“
