“Coming to Shah’s every week has become my brother and I’s favorite new tradition. They’re conveniently one of the few places open on Mondays, and after trying their combo platter we knew we knew we’d have to come back. The highlight of our experience isn’t just the delicious food, but the wonderful staff. Jose, the man at the front counter, is kind, welcoming, attentive, friendly, and just a lovely person! Although he speaks English, my brother and I love practicing our Spanish by chatting with him about his food and music recommendations. “This is our go to place when I am craving Fries and him Tenders, in two separate occasions we brought 8 people here and now it's there go to place. The loaded fries are absolutely divine I cannot get enough of them and I believe it's called sweet asian tenders forgive me if I am wrong my fiance orders 2 plates of them he really wants the recipe lol.
When we go now we always bring a group of people and our family who lives down south tells us every time they visit we all have to go to Sawyer's.
Also if you love Dart's it's a great place to play the game and chill.“

Chowder was great, and the 30 year old recipe for the lasagna (as the menu boasts) did NOT disappoint. Try this spot, don’t rush or be in a hurry, and enjoy the food and obvious effort that’s put into to making it as good as it truly is. “I live in Hartford and i have had numerous pizza spots in West Harford, Hartford, Wethersfield and Manchester. This place beats them all and take a 30 minute to go get their pizza. The crust is fantastic and the pizza sauce is authentic which makes any topping very good. This place is a gem.“

“nope will not be back.1 no more chicken nachos they were the best,they no longer serve burgers in the dinning room but you can get chicken wings,didn't have any angel hair pasta, portions have been down sized chicken parm was about half the size it used to be.pasta was over cooked and had no flavor... was told that the owner is the chef dont know if that changed but something did. waitresses was awsome service was very good. dont think we will be making the trip out here anymore. sorry coach stop it is what it is. amendment 45 minutes after we left the coach stop 2 out of the five of us had explosive diarrhea.“

The pizza I had was absolutely delicious. 8.6 from me on the pepperoni. The Buffalo didn't do it for me, likely because I tried the Pepperoni first and in my mind nothing was going to compare.“

My son is the pickiest eater but after watching the chef my son started trying things and ate things he usually won’t. I was shocked! The food and the entire experience was top notch! We can’t wait to return. Don’t listen to petty people who like to complain. This was our second time and it was well with the 45 minute trip. “November 2024 - Looking for a new Chinese place, we chose the Chinatown Restaurant in Canton. Checking out the online menu, some details were left out about some of the items, so I called before a family member picked up our takeout.

Very helpful, it sounded like the Chef himself as he was busy cooking, he told me they only had one dumpling, not a choice of vegetable or pork. They put both together. He also said the House Lo Mein consisted of shrimp, chicken and pork.

Our takeaways were as follows:
The egg roll and shrimp roll had the same crispy wrapping and were both good. The spring rolls were not to our family member's liking as they had what all of the Chinese places around us currently have which is a paste of some kind in the center. I will have to try these myself to see what they mean.

The wonton soup was very good. The right temperature, wonton dough not too dense, filling was pure and the broth was flavorful.
Their dumplings were also cooked expertly, but one family member found the combination unsatisfying as there wasn't either enough meat or vegetables to their liking. The rest of us enjoyed them, though I realize if you're a vegetarian you cannot get dumplings here as in other restaurants where they make both.

Mains: The winner was General Tso's chicken. I never order it, but so many people do and it always seems like a winner overall. The serving was plentiful, the chicken was tender with a soft coating and a little broccoli on the side, which is common with this dish.

The beef and broccoli also had tender meat, a good sauce and was a good portion size. The only negative was the broccoli stalks were too long and undercooked. A large container of well cooked white rice came to share with this meal and the Tso's chicken.

The House Lo Mein did not look anything to me like what I would get in California, but even after so many years back home in CT, I'm still adjusting to these differences. What looked like a container of brown noodles with a little bit of addons, I asked, is this mine? Yes, was the response as everyone was happy to run off with theirs. Fortunately, it tasted better than it looked presentation wise. Still, I could only have two servings before giving the other half away for someone else's lunch the next day.

Our favorite thing we all agreed they did the best with this order, was their House Fried Rice with an added egg. Perfectly made with shrimp, chicken, pork, the egg and some fresh peas.

Plenty of fortune cookies were included in the bag, along with chopsticks and a variety of sauces. They do have indoor seating. Maybe six tables? The owners are very polite and accommodating. Open six days a week basically 11Am - 10Pm. Closed Mondays and most holidays. Plenty of parking as they are within a small shopping plaza.“

“This is a smaller eatery with lots of character and great service. I had breakfast and ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy and 2 lightly scrambled eggs, also smothered in the sausage gravy. Ordered, blinked, and my food was served, impressive for a small eatery. Great biscuits and sausage gravy and the eggs were cooked perfect. I also ordered home fries with onions which tasted great and were also cooked to perfection, I loved seeing the onions cooked well as in, some were even burnt, the way they're supposed to be. Stop by if you get a chance, you'll feel right at home.“

“This place was beyond amazing. I have been here personally for food with friends before but never for an event. I used this place for my 2 month old baby’s baptism luncheon. (On st Patrick’s day) Shannon, the event manager was absolutely fabulous to work with. She even followed up with me after her first email since I have a terrible memory and forgot to reply to the first outreach. She made the whole event super easy and seamless. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that. I am a new mom with a 2 month old so complicated processes will never get done. Shannon made everything super easy and friendly. She was available by phone and email. Any questions I had she comfortable to ask and when I changed the salad she made it seem like it was nothing. I cannot say enough great things about her. (P.s this place was extremely well priced too for absolutely FABULOUS food) The day of, we were 30 minutes early and the room was all ready for us and let us choose whether to be in the room or hang out at the bar. Jackie was our waitress and she was amazing! I am a neurotic mom who can’t remember anything and she totally helped me out. When I was walking around talking to guests she brought the drinks to me. She was beyond professional, kind, helpful and nice to all of our guests and us and our family. We got TONS of compliments on Jackie and the food. We got the bronze package and replaced the salad with a Cesar salad, the chicken plate, steak and pasta bolognese. Delicious! They were the perfect portions and super tasty. Again, we cannot say enough great things about Jackie! We had extra people show up and within moments she had spaces created for them. She and her team were great and I hope she knows how wonderful she made the day!“
