“I used to eat here fairly regularly for the asada fries, but it's now down to 50/50 if the fries themselves will be edible, or overcooked to a point that they're the same color as the meat and my metal fork can't pierce them. Bummer. I don't know where else you can go for lumpia and a taco though.“

Beautiful decorations, friendly staff.However, I've lived in CT, RI, and MA and out of all three states (and the many breweries I've tried while residing in each), this brewery has the best stout I've had in over a decade (their other beers are also great but I'm a stout person). I'm very disappointed Man O' War allegedly won't be staying on the menu, but if this is the caliber this brewery can create I'll happily try anything they come up with!“

“Absolutely amazing food, i got the fish and chips but replaced fries with onion rings. I would reccomend this cafe to friends, family etc. The live band was amazing and the drinks were even better. I got a grapefruit martini that was a little too bitter. I didnt even complain about it, but the owner herself saw my face and immediately offered to replace the drink or add to it to my liking. The service was phenominal and the food was just as amazing. Whether you just want a drink or are hungry, its seriously one of the best places in the area.“

“I’ve driven by multiple times and finally had a chance to stop in for an early dinner. Upon entering the hostess was very pleasant and took me to the front patio area. I also immediately recognized the pomodoro and garlic smell that is distinctive of high end Italian restaurants. The waiter was just as pleasant and recognized that I was from out of town ( must have seen my plates on my car ). The bread and smoky EVOO was a great touch. There were multiple menu items I wanted to try but decided that this visit would be the old faithful Chicken Parm. It absolutely did not disappoint. Arrived perfectly prepared from the kitchen and as accompanied by home made spaghetti. One of the best prepared chicken parms I’ve had on the East coast. Skipped dessert but will be back to try more! “I've never written a review before but I felt compelled to leave one after my experience at Nana's. Yesterday was my first time there and it was awesome. Nana and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and just great to talk to. My boyfriend and I ordered the Alfredo pasta with chicken and it filled us both up which is surprising considering my boyfriend eats a lot, but anyways it was delicious, filling, and well priced. We also ordered the tiramisu and fried dough and both were extremely good. We were the only ones dining in there and Nana even threw in some extra fried dough for me. One of the best experiences I've had at restaurant, will definitely be going there again.“

“Terrific, terrific, terrific - I came in late at night after working all day and was warmly greeted by the fantastic cashier who even gave me a sample piece of some pizza while I picked from the menu, immediately seated me and served up some fantastic food. “We had a wonderful experience. Farm to table fresh. The shrimp and crabmeat chowder was the best we have ever had. Made with fresh cream and butter and lots of shrimp and real sweet crabmeat. (Many places add whitefish but this was all wonderful crabmeat). The flatbread and the coconut curry dish were also spectacular and we also enjoyed them for lunch the next day. The home fries were flavorful and I decided to forgo the ketchup (which I have used at other establishments in order to give the home fries flavor). The cinnamon raisin toast was perfect. The bacon was crispy. If you are in New London sometime you will not be disappointed if you stopped here for brunch.“

We served Fish & Chips and clear broth chowder, which was my Mom’s favorite meal. It was truly a memorable event for everyone who attended and I can’t say enough about the staff! “We were visiting Connecticut for the weekend. Found The Yolk Cafe close to the hotel, we walked in, received the most welcoming morning from the owner Jane and her daughter. We ordered some specials. Jane has the best personality, she was sending us samples and making jokes the whole time. We returned Sunday before heading home for another great breakfast! When leaving Jane gave us all a hug like we've known each other for years! Until we see each other again! “So, we get takeout from here at least 3-4x per month- and have been for years. Also, we live closer to Tolland so it's about a 50 min drive for us to do this. I can honestly say no one I know has ever had a bad meal/experience here. Never have had to wait over the anticipated time for our order. We have never had an issue where we haven't received everything ordered and they always put our order in a box for easy carrying. The large salads are absolutely on point! The "extras" you can add for a nominal fee are absolutely worth it- as is the grilled or crispy chicken additions. The pizza is always plentiful if you walk in for a slice. Grinders are excellent. I don't understand the only option of seeded bread for toasted sandwiches, but I still enjoy them- although I do wish there were an option. The meatballs are the only meatballs that I've ever eaten in a restaurant that are reminiscent of my now deceased grandmother. In fact, my mother says they taste exactly like her mother's meatballs! I always order a side of balls- and eating one is like a comforting hello from her! The garlic knots- oh the knots- they're...well, no words. Just try them. I'm really into their pasta sauce- and I can honestly say I don't like many restaurants since I always make my own but this one I can eat by the spoonful. It's not too bitter or too sweet! The dessert selection is great! If you're planning to order online, order food only and then when you go in to do the pick up check out the dessert case. There are so many more options in the restaurant than there is online. This is what we always do. There are 2 parts to the restaurant. The pickup quick cafe side and the sit down restaurant side. We don't really ever eat in but it's a cute little Italian place. The cafe portion is busier (in times I've been there) with traffic going in and out- but I have seen people eating in there as well. That side gives me more of a pub/cafe vibe. I don't understand all the crappy reviews. If anything, this place has gotten better with time. The quality of food is great. Food always cooked the way you order it. Pizza isn't undercooked or burned. Chicken is never chewy. Eggplant isn't stringy. Salad is ALWAYS super fresh, as are the toppings. Don't think I've ever gotten one piece of brown or slimy lettuce! It's a 10 from me!“
