44 Best Ice Cream Shops near Old Greenwich

“I got the vanilla kid size cup. It was very good! Very creamy and fresh. There's plenty of seating in here but I have to say the day I went there were a lot of kids sitting down and not even eating ice cream. I feel like maybe they were finished? But I hate when people linger and you have to end up sitting at the window at an uncomfortable stool. people in coffee shops do this crap too and it's really annoying. Steph was very friendly. The ice cream was definitely worth it though.“

“I wish this establishment the best of luck. They have quality products. The store is sparkling clean.“

“The tall brunette byth with gold earrings is the most helpful, thoughtful and patient employee. She let me try as many flavors as I wanted and gave perfect scoops. To say I'm obsessed is an understatement. If she's not there neither am I!“

“It's like being in Italy and eating authentic gelato with EVERY visit to Gelatissimo Artisan Gelato in New Canaan! Grazie Nuccia!“

“Just tried the matcha milkshake and I’m obsessed! 🍵✨ It was perfectly blended, super creamy, and had that ideal balance of earthy green tea with just the right amount of sweetness. Not too bitter, not too sweet—just dreamy! Highly recommend. 💚“

“Stopped by Sunny Daes and really enjoyed it! The ice cream was so good and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and the whole place had a nice, welcoming vibe. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area. We’ll be back for sure!“

“TropiGlace is hands down the tastiest Ecuadorian ice cream spot in Stamford! The owner, Paola, is super friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I also had the BEST milkshake made by Silvia—absolutely delicious and perfectly done. Highly recommend this place for authentic flavors and great service!“

“I am so beyond excited to find a eastern European market in stamford. Bri gs me back to some of my favorite childhood memories. Cannot wait to dig into these pickled tomatoes black bread Ukrainian mayo and cheese and salami!!!!! Just need to find a recipe for syrniki. Still looking for the vanilla sugar“

“I recently bought the Earl Grey Tea and Berry Cornbread at my local Kroger store and was blown away! The richness and the flavor profiles were out of this world, especially the latter flavor of the two. It’s dangerous to know the Kroger store is only five minutes from my house. I’ll definitely be trying other flavors.“

“Ice Cream Deliciousness!!!!“

“I just got my license and wanted to visit my favorite ice cream shop in Stamford. I go there and this guy named Joseph was helping me when all of a sudden, he gave me the best scoop of my life. I would say he's the backbone of ice cream in this city.“

“Wonderful ice cream experience. I got the mint chip & it was delicious.“

“Wow, I never thought I’d live to see the day when I’d taste something so delightful! At 82 years old, I walked into Gofer Ice Cream, unsure what to expect. My good friend Andrew liebau insisted I try a “banana split”—said I’d been missing out all my life. Well, I’ll be darned if he wasn’t right.

The handsome young man behind the counter was patient as I squinted at the flavors, though I had no idea what “cookie dough” or “rocky road” meant. In the end, I picked vanilla—simple, safe. But the moment that first spoonful melted on my tongue, I understood why folks go on about this treat. It was creamy, sweet, and softer than I imagined, like a little cloud of happiness.

I sat by the window, savoring every bite, watching children run by with their cones dripping in the sun. Maybe I waited too long to have ice cream, but I can tell you this—it won’t be my last time. Five stars, with all the joy of a new discovery“

“Great service, a consistently yummy treat every time. The youngish guy who writes Happy Birthday on our cakes is great.

1 star off for atmosphere because there is no bench/table to sit at. It’s bright and colorful and clean which is key. There’s always that one customer who gets huffy because he/she was skipped in line. Chill, man! It’s ice cream.

Dietary restrictions: They offer an offer an “oat milk” soft serve (!)“

“Their menu is the star here. I’ve learned a lot. There are so many flavors, styles & combinations that you’ll probably discover something you’ve never had before, every time. For real, they have fake flavoring but their stuff is tasty. Service can be quite slow, especially when you’re not the only one there (ha), but this place will get you coming back because it’s that good and fun. If you’re really itching, order a hot dog at Toxic Wings connected to it while you wait. Come with patience and optimism if required. Worth a visit.“

“Ottimo 👏 lavoro . Gelato come in Italia“

“Fun place to grab a bite. Food better than you would expect from the outside. Definitely worth a visit“

“I cannot say enough good things about this place. The vibe/decor, food and staff are top notch. We ordered the lamb kebab pita with fries $12.50 and Arabic style beef swarma platter $15.60. Lamb was super soft with a generous portion. The Arabic beef was not what we expected but delicious and we're glad we got it to try, it's like a chopped beef. The staff was very patient and super friendly. After we finished our food we decided to get gelato $10 for 3 scoops, we got Nutella, dulce de leche and speculoos, SO GOOD. The guy was so nice he gave my toddler his very own complimentary micro scoop in a teenie cone ❤ he took one lick and the scoop ended up on the floor and then he OFFERED HIM A REPLACEMENT!!! I wish this place was closer to NY, I would go weekly for sure!“

“The Chocobana ice cream shop is a Dominican treasure in Norwalk and I am so happy I found you Yeni!
The food we ordered for our school was amazingly delicious and the cake was absolutely excellent. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care—every bite was satisfying and well-balanced. The presentation was beautiful, and the quality exceeded expectations.
The cake was the highlight: moist, rich, and perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. It’s the perfect Dominican cake. You can truly taste the freshness of the ingredients, and the texture was just right. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful meal.
Thank you, Yeni for the wonderful service, hospitality, and amazing food.“

“Super nice place for ice cream“

“Great customer service! I talked to a girl named Emily on the phone about my cake order and she was super helpful, patient and kind! My cake was also super tasty and looked AMAZING!!! Definitely recommend the gofer cakes and the staff is truly amazing !“

“Just plain awesome in every way“

“The best carvel store in the area! All of the employees are so wonderful and accommodating with my family and especially my 4 year old daughter. Always have a smile on their face and all of their products are delicious!! They are a staple to the Port Chester and Greenwich communities. We are regulars for many, many years.“

“Great place to have a nice ice cream treat. The only little problem w this store is that when too many people are there the place to pay is too crowded. They should separate payment section and delivery section. Honestly some.of these entitled parents have no consideration where they are standing and just cut people off when paying. Other than that place is amazing and have lots on the menu.“

“Our BR store closed in my Pittsburgh neigbourhood years ago , so when my son moved to Greenwich , we are happy to visit BR at Greenwich for all our favorite ice cream Our grandkids love the store , as the servers are all very friendly and know them by names. Dunking Donut share this store location .“

“Ottimo 👏 lavoro . Gelato come in Italia“

“I love the products and the crew“

“I have been going to Milk N Cookies ever since they first opened here, and I have no complaints! I have only tried their cookies a few times, and they were nice and warm with great flavor and texture, large for sure but good! I have to admit though, their milkshakes are the true star here, incredibly thick, delicious, and highly customizable. The strawberry or vanilla milkshake with fruity pebbles is a fave and never misses!! Service is always very quick as well, really the best milkshakes around 🙏“

“Love the convenience of having this next door to Mario’s. The other Ralph’s is open seasonally and this one is open year round. Scott is wonderful and works with schools to do fundraisers and can also do school events where they bring their trailer and serve ices to the kids.“

“At first I thought what does a gopher have to do with ice cream. Then I looked down on my melting soft serve run down my firm hands. The stickiness of my fingers played out in my mind. I then Slowly took a lick of my ice cream, the soft serve vanilla with fudge suddenly expoloded in my mouth. My taste buds thanked me and I then thanked the girl at the counter for providing pleasure. Gopher I will be back and we will have our day again and many more to come.“

“Delicious, clean and the staff is Awesome..... always a treat!!!“

“Always a line at the Dairy Queen. Also always good treats at the Dairy Queen!“

“We absolutely love Shake Shack and it has become a family tradition for us to go once a week because it’s our child’s favorite place to eat. Every time we walk in, the staff recognizes us, greets us warmly, and treats our family with so much kindness.

When our son turned 2, we decided to celebrate his birthday there for dinner. The staff went above and beyond—they all came out to sing “Happy Birthday,” gave him a little toy football, and even brought him a bowl of ice cream for the birthday boy. It was such a sweet and memorable moment for our family.

Shake Shack is truly one of the most family- and child-friendly places we’ve been to. The music is always great, the food is consistently delicious, and, most importantly, the staff is always friendly and welcoming.

Thank you to the entire team for making our weekly family tradition so special. We’ll keep coming back! ❤“
