“Sabor is one of my favourite eating spots in New Haven. As someone from the Caribbean, their homecooked food is not only deliciously flavourful and warm but soul filling. Warm doesn't only describe the food but the people who work there as well. I go often and always feel genuinely welcomed when I do, because they welcome you like your part of the community. I honestly wanted to gatekeep this place to myself but I also want to see them succeed - I cannot recommend this spot enough!“

“My husband and I went here for the first time yesterday, and the food was 🔥🔥🔥! Everything was SO good and full of flavor. I had white rice with bacalao (codfish) with yucca, and my hubby had the yellow rice with pernil. We both loved our meals. The pernil was delicious, and my bacalao was on point and it definitely hit the spot!
The owner was so personable, welcoming and really made us feel at home. You can tell there’s a lot of love and pride behind the food and the way people are treated.
Needless to say, we WILL be back! Good Puerto Rican food, good portions and good people.

“Experienced this restaurant for the 1st time on Thursday night. Ended up being a trivia night and my wife and I were exceptionally happy. Hostess was a pleasure and our Server George was amazing!! Started with the Pretzel then I had the fish and chips (Top 5) I've had...light flakey crust good flavor. Wife had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with Truffle Fries. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to those when you order. Will definitely be back“

“This is my first time trying Columbian food and I am hooked!!!!! The AL Pastor Columbian style Arepas is by far one of the most delicious things I have had in a long time. The cornbread base was sweet without being cloying and mixed with the pork and pineapple, OH MY GOD! My dish came with a side of some of the most flavorful rice I have ever had and it was topped with some sweet plantains. The serving is more than generous. I'm a big girl and I am easily getting 2 meals out of my order. The prices are very reasonable! Do yourself a favor and find this hidden gem while you are in town. You will not be disappointed!“

“The awesome ladies and the service there is top tier!! The food was absolutely amazing!! I haven’t had mofongo in such a long time!! Their roasted pork mofongo is brings back so many beautiful memories !!! The guava juice was mouth watering and the seafood mofongo was also very very delicious!!! Highly recommend this spot!! The owner is so friendly, felt very welcomed ❤️ Thankyou for the outstanding food and service !!“

“I visited blue tortuga on a Monday evening for a friends birthday. The chicharrón with guacamole was great, the main dish was out of this world. The French toast dessert was amazing. The service was great, highly recommend.“

“Just because the owners may appear Chinese that does not mean they did not immigrate from Puerto Rico. Many Chinese who lived in Cuba emigrated to Puerto Rico after Castro in 1959, and from PR they later came to the mainland US, especially the New York area. I've been coming here for years and I can tell you the food is authentic and excellent.“

I was so nervous because 1- I’m not from Connecticut so I had no idea where to cater from and 2- I’ve never catered before (I always do my own cooking), I was not disappointed!!! Everyone raved how good everything was. Yezzy was wonderful to work with and delivery was exceptional😄Everything was beyond my expectations!“

“I didn't go to the restaurant, I went to the food truck and lemme tell ya, I'll be returning. They don't skimp on the portions but the flavors? This food was cooked with love! I had 2 different rices, one with black beans, chicken, and the arepa was just too good. On the next really nice day, I intend to go back for more!!!!“

“We ate here last night and the food and service were wonderful! What was even more wonderful was the customer service when I left my purse at the restaurant. I called later that night to see if it was there. They were so kind and kept my bag and made arrangements to get it to me this morning before they opened. Would definitely go back!“
