“Best Irish Pub Restaurant in the state. Food is outstanding, atmosphere is green, staff is wonderful. Art and MaryEllen do a stand up job, from appetizers, chilli, wings, onion soup. To the entres, sirloin rib tips, to deserts bread pudding. Place is amazing.Parking: No issues“
“Great location to sit on the patio and watch golfers tee off while enjoying icy cold beverages and good food. Started with 2 happy hour beers, happy hour fried pickles and the happy hour egg roll. Enjoyed the scratch made pickles- menu says sauce is ranch but more accurately sriracha ranch maybe? Enjoyed the sauce- just FYI in case people don't like spicy . Didn't care for the egg roll - was supposed to be a blackened chicken pineapple chutney but honestly it was 90% cabbage - maybe would try again but was a little greasy. For dinner hubby and I shared the chicken Caesar wrap- again it was labeled as blackened and wasn't really blackened but the flavor was great and hubby and I agreed we didn't care that it wasn't blackened- again just trying to set expectations for others on spice/heat level. No review is complete without commenting on the service- it was AWESOME. Rochelle covered the inside and the patio with a smile on her face. All in all a good experience and we will be back.“
“Came solo looking for a place I could relax and have a beer with locals. Yea this was it! They had musician Steve McGrath playing he was amazing. I got their signature Winchester burger and it was perfect. Chilled here for a couple hours a couple beers and it just feels like home.“
“Went out for the first time this past Saturday and the place is in great shape. One of the landscapers, Fitz, was extremely friendly, and gave us some advice on the upcoming holes. The perfect level of difficulty for your average golfer, variation of hole layouts, and overall high quality course. Had a blast, and will absolutely be coming back. Highly recommend!“
“Great food and craft cocktail selections. Parking has limited spaces. Not exactly fine dining. Overall, the menu is well thought out, and the food experience was delightful.Dietary restrictions: Several gluten-free offerings, such as pasta and bread.“
“Stopped here yesterday. So glad I did. After reading the reviews was a must . Was greeted with kindness and a smile . Sat . Waitress was friendly! Great for families. Wide selection menu items. Owners greeting young families with young children with donuts . You can feel that they love what they do. Very passionate is nice to see. I ordered the Philly omelette with coffee. In minutes Served hot. Very good . I will be back.“
“OSA is hands down the best restaurant in CT. Everything about this place is 11 out of 10. The service is impeccable, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Drinks are out of this world. The food is like nothing else. We had the ricotta and it was bursting with flavor. Honey, salt, roasted garlic and chives with sourdough. Yum. I had the 15 day aged corned beef and it was hands down the best I’ve had ever and I’m a Harp! Bartender as always is the best he’s always angling for you to try one of his libations and he won’t let you go till you do: OSA is the best CT restaurant. If you’re listening Michelin give them a star…or two!!!!“
“Where do I begin Family? Goldburgers deserves every single star for they go out of their way from the moment you step foot in the door to make you feel at home. The menu board is POW, right smack in your face flooded with options and for a first timer there, it could possibly be overwhelming to decide on just a few items but they are right there to hold your hungry hand and walk you through their wonderland of foodie options. Now I went in a few directions.... Let us begin with the Mac Squares that are made to attack your tastebuds in a way to bring creamy delight with an orchestra of cheese and a sweet symphony of seasoning on the fried breaded goodness that the macaroni is encased in. A single bite and your eyes widen with glee. You are nothing short of happy as you continue to chew your way through this playground of flavors that are meant for the masses. My Fat Attack did not stop there folks.... I also had their 50/50 which consists of half sweet potato fries (as my choice) and half Super Sized Onion Rings that had all types of crispiness to their own bite. Now the fries were good....Nice light Sweet and Salty vibe, they. kept you going back for more but these onion rings were made for the Champion in you! Large and in charge, crispy with a nice snap on the onions. It the batter for me that wasn't greasy but inviting. The Tso-ly Loaded Waffle fries, hit a homer and sent the rest of my appetizers to home plate and we all started to cheer within my mouth. What better way to bring about a wild and savory bite than to have some Ginger Soy coming in tangy and Chipotle Mayo barking up the right tree in way of packing a nice creamy yet spicy punch in my mouth over the crisp on that fried broccoli - TALK TO ME BABY and love me the way you do!!! I just worked you all the way up to their POT ROAST SANDWICH!! Yikes!! The easiest way to break this one down is to say, scoop your pot roast from your bowl and then slap that tasty monstrosity between two fresh buns of soft haven fun and now take a BITE!! Tender Beef, Onions with the Gravy Dripping and as you chew, a single tear drops from your eye for you've just experienced something amazing. Your soul thanks you on this one. Goldburgers, I WILL BE BACK BABY!!!“
“Picked up lunch today and brought it home. Excellent food! The goobkwr was outstanding and hubby loves the jalapeno popper dog. Also got Mac & cheese and the baked beans which I highly recommend and of course the salty balls. Had to also get the T-shirt too. Best food in the area. Makes me miss summer cookouts and was a nice break for all the holiday craziness and foods.“
“I want to start the review by saying that I do have a background in culinary being an executive chef for many years and now teaching culinary. My wife and I decided to try this place for dinner and we're not disappointed. In fact, we had a great experience!I want to also say that everything there is made in house, using quality products, including the rolls for the sandwiches. My wife and I split a rigatoni Bolognese to start. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the meat sauce was authentic and delicious. Next we had a meatball calzone with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. The dough was so good as I was cutting pieces with the meatball and cheese making like little sandwiches, I can honestly say it was great! We also ordered a pizza which is made thin crust nice bubbles coming out of the oven, beautifully brown on the bottom crispy crust. The tomato sauce and cheese of a high-quality as well as the other toppings. I would rate this pizza, an 8.8 out of 10. Leaving room for the pizza meccas In New Haven. If you don't want to drive an hour, I recommend you try the pizza here! I had to try a half an order of shrimp scampi, the shrimp were done perfectly not overcooked, linguini was al dente, and the sauce is about as good as I've ever had, capers, sliced fresh garlic, lemon. I also ordered an Italian cold cut grinder to go with plenty of mortadella, capicola, salami, and pepperoni reminiscent of Franklin giant grinder in the south end of Hartford. I planned on reviewing the restaurant so we also have lunch tomorrow! It's a gem in Cromwell that shouldn't be missed!“
“Food was great! We went for NYE. It was fun and the food was surprisingly very good, I say surprisingly, due to the fact that they had run out of the steak frites . I was able to add the steak to my Cesar salad and it was so yummy! Also the calamari was excellent!Crème brûlée is a MUST.“
“Just found this Birch Hill two weeks ago and we've already been twice! Absolutely love the food, atmosphere and staff they are so friendly (almost forgot to mention the drinks. .excellent) Cassie especially made our evening great by accommodating our large group!“
“The food and service is fantastic. It is my go to place for pizza and breakfast sandwiches. The inside is beautiful and clean with plenty of spots to take a load off while you enjoy coffee, or sit as a family and enjoy a meal. If you have not been you are doing yourself a disservice you will it be disappointed if you go.“
“Beyond fun atmosphere and food and drinks were delicious and different. Plus staff actually seems like they LIKE being there...love that feeling... and have been back twice since my wedding dress shopping daughter took us the first time to celebrate finding the dress!“
“This spot is one of my go to restaurants. The food is creative and locally sourced, there are fun specials, the cocktails are hit/miss. Service depends on how busy the restaurant is, it seems like the servers get relatively large sections so when it's busy you might not see your server for a while but they are very attentive when you can get a hold of them. The dessert and coffee is always very good!“
“Family style bar and restaurant. I've had a thick juicy cheeseburger and the fish and chips. Both dishes were nice large portions of flavorful and fresh tasting and well seasoned food. The place is friendly and well appointed. Prices are reasonable and service is great. The patrons are having fun socializing with each other. There are even families, but no young children. They are a mix of young and old. People are dressed in casual work clothes.“
“Lovely lovely experience! Great food and great service! Would recommend to anyone who wants to try some of the best food. I went with my girlfriend and we enjoyed it so much the whole place is very aesthetic and the food is too. Even the menu looks good. There is an option for everyone whether you are picky or you like all food. So if you're in the area do make sure you come by and try this lovely food“
“Beautiful restaurant with excellent service. The food has been consistently fantastic for as long as I can remember. French Onion Soup and prime rib are must tries. Great salads, and great everything else. Meals come with bread, salad, starch and vegetables. Large bar room and occasional live music.“
“Great old-fashioned diner with a Polish twist. My eggs/bacon/pancake breakfast was fine, and the cheese pierogi with onions and sour cream were fantastic -- the cooking makes them more like part of a meal instead of a snack. They were so good I couldn't finish my pancakes!“
“Haven't been here in a long time. Happened to be in area and just had to go. Place is a staple in CT. Went with a double steamed chesse burger LTM ONION & spicy mustard to get my fix. Didn't disappoint either did the cute lady keeping them coming out fast to get you out quick on a work day. I'll be back but just going single chesse burger.“
“I don't know where to start, everything was so amazing! From the service, the food, and the drinks, everything was sublime! We ordered the Peaches peaches peaches, Pear Collins, sliders, empanadas, truffle tots, and queso frito. Everything was so amazing! The customer service was and inviting, the food exquisite, and the drinks aboutly delightful! We cannot wait to come back!“
“Don't be scared if the lot looks full - there is plenty of space inside. We stopped by for breakfast and had omelettes. The service was fantastic and the food was cooked just right. We plan to add this to our regular breakfast spots to visit.“
“I stopped in for the first time the other day and I just wanted a simple breakfast sandwich. . The owners/staff was super friendly and the food was great! I can't wait to go back and try other things since they have a huge menu!!! They have a few picnic tables in back but it was cold out so I took my sandwich to work. Love it here!. Highly recommended!“
“Absolutely beautiful, amazingly great service, delicious food in very LARGE portions, and the view from inside looking outside is nothing less than SPECTACULAR!!!!Vegetarian options: Good options to choose from.Dietary restrictions: You can order to taste. Healthy selections available.Parking: Large open parking lot. Parking was not a problem.Kid-friendliness: Many options for kids.“
“TJs is a sports bar with great food and immaculately clean. The burger ? tastes like steak! I have had three of them and they are the "best burger" I personally have had in Connecticut. It's small in a cozy, way and the 8 TVs are set up so you can see NFL or Basketball anywhere you sit. It's really perfect for 3 friends & you to play pool and eat, or a casual "date night" because there are booths you can snuggle up in. I usually just go to the bar side; but the restaurant side has 8 small booths so you can take mom or a friend to a tasty lunch. The menu is quite large but I personally stick to burgers.“
“This establishment has been here since the early 50s, though I doubt it still has its original owner. This is a diner it the most classical sense. It is notnkne of those places pretending to be something it isn't.A lot of so called diners nowadays are nothing more than resturants with a counter. This is a true holdover from when the best way from Boston to New York City was by taking US-5 which conveniently still runs right in front of the place. The food was as one would expect. There was nothing that stood out stunningly. The burger was large, and the onion rings were able to satiate my weekly grease intake.I will still be going back here at least one more time, but I'll be trying something else instead. One thing I was disappointed in was that there didn't seem to be any pies. I was looking forward to trying a diner pie, but alas, it was not ment to be.Vegetarian options: There are a bunchnof things that are vegetarian, but most of the menu is mostly meat.Dietary restrictions: This is probably not the place to go if you have any restrictions to your diet.Parking: There are a few spaces in front, but a rather a good-sized lot right around back.Kid-friendliness: Sure, why not. This place has both high and booster chairs. I don't remember seeing a kids' menu, but it's never too soon to introduce them to diner life.Wheelchair accessibility: It's surprisingly accessible. There are a few spots out back, and a very nice ramp of which to roll up. There is a table, buy only the one. If you ca t sit there, you'd need to sit at the end of a booth.“
“There are a number of very good restaurants/eateries in Old Wethersfield. Smoked on Main is a gem specializing in BQ and BQ/fusion. It adds a more casual vibe to the area without sacrificing quality. I reviewed the menu before entering and thought I had decided on a very traditional bq meal. But when I saw the specials, my plans went out the window. I chose an order of 2 specials: Turkey empanadas and the beef habanero tacos. Both were presented well and had phenomenal flavor. I don't want to forget to mention that both dishes had a nice kick... not unbearably hot, just a wonderful kick to the taste buds. This place is a great addition to the Old Wethersfield dining scene. There's indoor seating in a very clean and modern interior. This location was the Grange Hall and obviously has gone through a major renovation. There will be outdoor seating once the warmer weather returns. I'll be back.“
“We had a party of 16 peeps for a fishing club banquet, with 3 meat choices for main course which were chicken francaises, stuffed shrimp n fillet sole, and prime rib, all were excellent we had the chicken fran n it was very gd came with broccili, pasta, salads and amazing buttery giant garlic knots! Heard no complaints on any of the entrees, and def recommend Violi's!Parking: Plenty of parking spots at nite in the winters as its part of a golf course ! Was there. 2/25Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair access and 5 handicap spots are closest to door/entrance!“
“My first visit to this restaurant was a delightful surprise orchestrated by my husband for my birthday. We were seated upstairs, but upon exploring downstairs to the tavern area, we immediately decided that our next visit would definitely be spent there. Recently, I organized a girls' night out and made a reservation for the tavern, and it exceeded all expectations. The evening kicked off with a perfectly crafted dirty martini that set the tone for what was to come. The wine selection by the glass offered an array of choices, which was greatly appreciated. Our meal selections were varied yet equally impressive: I opted for the salmon with risotto, Rachel savored their chicken dish, Danielle indulged in the burger, while Dev enjoyed the flatbread. Our appetizer of Brussels sprouts was nothing short of exquisite.Throughout the evening, our waiter provided impeccable service, always anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. I couldn't help but express to him that if the restaurant were closer than 25 minutes away, it would undoubtedly become our regular haunt. He was consistently attentive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and always being a few steps ahead of us.Overall, our experience at this restaurant, particularly in the tavern, was nothing short of spectacular. From the drinks to the cuisine to the exceptional service, it left a lasting impression, making it a place we'll eagerly return to whenever the opportunity arises.“
“We’re from NY and were visiting the area. I checked on Yelp for breakfast places and saw Bob’s had good reviews with affordable prices. I’m glad we went here! The decor is pretty bare bones, but very clean. I personally don’t care about decor, but maybe some do. As soon as we walked in, we had two wonderfully cheerful ladies greet us. We told them that we wanted to order takeout. They gave us some menus and took our order right away. We had a seat, waiting for our food and were asked by a couple of different waitresses if we had been helped. One asked us if we wanted coffee while we waited. There were probably about 6 occupied tables when we went, and it seemed like many might have been regulars just based on the conversations they were having with the waitresses. We heard a lot of “Hey Joe, how ya been?” type stuff. I love places like that. Our food came out super quick, less than 10 minutes. The ladies at the hostess stand who took our order made sure that we had everything we needed for condiments and plasticwear. Before we left we also picked up some apple bread that they were selling at the hostess stand for $6 a loaf. I’d definitely recommend it, it was delicious. Prices were super affordable, which is pretty much the main reason why we went there in the first place. We both got French toast and a side of home fries each. Both were very good but we both LOVED the home fries! We actually considered going in and ordering two more helpings lol! They were nice and crispy and were actually seasoned, unlike a lot of breakfast places that just give you bland home fries. If you’re looking for a great breakfast that won’t cost you a ton, give Bobs a try. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area.“
“This is a great spot to meet friends but I do miss the couches on the patio where I used to sit and read in the summer. Their drinks menu is always updated. Got the Chocolate Pecan Martini and my friend got the Sweetheart Martini which has White Chocolate liqueur, Rumchata and Grenadine for the pink color. Both were delicious. My friend ordered the Pear Salad but substituted feta for the Gorgonzola and added chicken. I got the risotto special which came with poached salmon, which I exchanged for grilled salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. I usually bring part of my entree home but the risotto was so good and the right size, so I just finished it off! If you are debating what to order, definitely go for the short rib entree - the perfect comfort food over mashed potatoes! I love the cozy couches inside and the dark lighting which gives a very intimate feel. I would love to sit at the bar or the kitchen bar sometime, but have sat in the side dining room, the main dining room and patio at various times. All great spots, although the main dining area was a little chilly by the door one visit and the hostess kindly moved us to an interior table. The lighting in the newer dining area is brighter if that matters to you.“
“As a born and raised Meriden resident. I like to appreciate steamed cheeseburgers are native to Connecticut and that Kevin has made a successful franchise with respects to Ted's. I used to visit the bar that serve these same burgers I like the new taste the cheese blend. And how the business has grown. the employees are always warm . The location on East main is quick easy and always satisfying“
“Fantastic and interesting specials, great menu, and a fun and friendly environment. My wife and I dig it, and it's our favorite hot date. Highly recommend bringing a healthy appetite. Try it, and you will go back.Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for dietary restrictions.“
“i can’t speak to dine in as i’ve only done takeout but i usually door dash, which has always been a positive experience, this time i ordered pick up and same thing the food is always amazing and portions are huge literally lasts 2+ days. their pasta meals are enough to feed 2 people! i love the bolognese and shrimp scampi. the garlic bread with cheese is one of my favs, their cesar salad is always fresh. the amount of food you get for the price is great. they have never gotten my order wrong either and the quality is always great. when picking up the younger staff at the take out desk are friendly and polite, and efficient with getting the orders out. no wonder there are so many great reviews here!“
“Over the past year living in Glastonbury, the Spicy Green Bean has truly become my favorite restaurant. Every single thing about this place is amazing, the atmosphere, the people, the food. Honestly, I can say that I have never had a meal that hasn’t exceeded my expectations. The owner and her staff are also extraordinary. Totally recommend!“
“If you love pickles then this place is for you as you are served a large dish of pickles before your Maine entre, the waitress was super amazing the hostess was a bit stale however the experience overall was just awesome, clean bathrooms and clean tables, Food was perfection I had the chicken with lettuce, side note I wish they gave you more napkins or a larger plate when you order a bunless meal.. my favorite is the decor ✨️... prices are very agreeable as well.. well done Plan B we will be back again.“
“The owners are good friends so we dropped by to say hello, share a few stories and enjoy a beer. They invited us to partake of the buffet that was winding down. The food was excellent. We only stayed a short while because we were distracting them from their duties. They were setting up for karaoke when we left.“
“We love the boneless honey baked ham. I used to get it as an addition to our turkey for Thanksgiving and one year we all decided to stop having turkey and just order a larger ham. We love not having to do anything but pick it up. We've had the bone in and boneless over the years and both are delicious. Service here is fast too and everyone is super helpful. Wish they would bring back the cheese ham potato side the used to have. We've really missed it.“
“Don't hesitate entering this old, funky, funny and warm pub! The eclectic tunes match the varied CT and nationwide brews, which in turn complements the hearty meals. If you haven't stopped in since you were dating, you'll probably find your initials still in the table or wall. The friendly bar and the creative kitchen will make you punch in your next visit date into your phone before you leave!“
“Hands down the best burger I've had in a long time. Amazing menu and great atmosphere. Small and casual, but in a nice way. Full bar, and reasonable prices. They have items such as biscuits and gravy, catfish po boys, and hush puppies. Check it out!“
“Picked up some wings to go for my friends and I. I got the honey chipotle wings which did not disappoint, exactly what I was craving. My friends got boneless buffalo wings which they seemed to enjoy. We shared the tater tots with queso which was so good! Unfortunately , I didn't really look inside to get the vibe. I'll definitely be back though!“
“The atmosphere is really relaxed and upbeat, which is really nice. The staff is kind and helpful in getting your order. They have a little lounge area with art and available seating which is an additional perk. Outside seating is available as well. Inside they have certain things available to buy in a lil cabinet. Very nice, clean, welcoming place.Food-wise, the hash brown is really good and has great flavor. The Western omelette sandwich was great and the caramelized onions added an extra dose of flavor. I would definitely come back to try more food offerings and enjoy the atmosphere“
“We've been here a few times for both dinner on the deck and special occasion events. The food is typically decent. I've enjoyed their pizza. They're meatball sub is delicious (and I'm Italian and am typically really picky when it comes to meatballs). The back deck is so delightful- especially on a cool evening sitting around one of the fire tables. I have 2 young kids so being able to dine outside is always nice. We dined there last week and had a less than stellar experience. It was a Thursday evening. The kids and I met some family after they played golf. It was much busier than I would have expected. Waitress comes over in a huff - clearly overwhelmed. She wasn't that friendly and was rushing, She took 8 orders - drinks and meals - without writing anything down. My cousin and I chuckled about it when she walked away. We were both saying it'd be a miracle if she got it right. Well she didn't. And the worst part is that we waited about 30 mins for our meals - and the two she messed up out of the 8 were my 4 and 9 year olds. So then we waited another 15 mins for 2 pizzas. It was just annoying. Write it down next time. Well obviously be back but definitely not if something like this happens again.“
“Drink: Getaway Guava Margarita (Specials Menu)Appetizer: Fried PicklesMain: Welas Carne frita, Charlie’s flat breadSide: RisottoThe drink was good but not really tastes like a margarita, more like a mojito but it was good. The fried pickles were nicely breaded and crispy. Would recommend, maybe hold off on the sauce since it was very salty. The Charlie flattered was good. The welas carne frita has sauce on side so it may be best to get sauce on top.“
“Went here for dinner and had a very nice time. The food was great and so was the service. I'll definitely go back again!Parking: Google maps took me only to the entrance of the golf club. The restaurant is beyond that, up a well-lit driveway with a large parking area at the top.“
