“I was recently there for dinner with my wife . Food was good , service was excellent and the entire staff could not have been more accommodating and we interacted with a number of them . Nice decor and spoke about coming back in summer months as the venue would be great . Unfortunately we will never go back . When I got the bill I saw that they charged me 75 cents for mustard that I requested for my deluxe burger , I was infuriated . The catsup was free but was blown away by a charge for mustard. Did not complain or even mention it . It was minor on a $60 bill plus a 25% tip . But the fact that someone would nickel and dime you like that said I will take my business elsewhere . Can you imagine doing that?“

“Bolands is sort of like the Mos Eisley cantina from star wars, and I mean that in the most endearing way. If you like getting drunk and playing pool with some of the craziest, kookiest, and disagreeable characters you'll ever meet, this is your place. Everyone should try it at least once.“

“So we stopped there cause my friend was buying a car from someone and that's the parking lot they choose to meet. I've never even been to that part of CT before. I had the chicken quesadilla, OMG the chicken was seasoned and cooked amazingly. The tortilla was toasted perfectly (and it was huge) great overall meal. My friend had a couple different tacos which he said were amazing. Even our waiter was friendly, willing to give his preferences, he would check on us to make sure we were good. Haven't had good experiences for awhile now so this was a nice change. Hopefully I'll have a reason to visit that part of CT so I can stop there again. Definitely worth the time to check out.“

“Went there for lunch...we had both specials...broccoli abd mushroom flatbread and clams over linguini...my husband was in heaven with the clams. This is one of if his favorite dishes and this was a top 10 rating. The place was super clean and friendly. We will be back! A 10 rating...5 stars x2!“

“I drive a considerable distance just to come visit Bobbi the bartender. She’s the best around! Funny, fast, excellent. It’s also hard to find such a welcoming fun crowd and cheap drinks anywhere else. The new owners are regularly around and you won’t have to look hard because they’ll greet you with a smile. Great guys. Can’t say enough great things about this great place. Only thing that would make it better is if they had a karaoke night!!!!“

“The day was perfect. They do a great job getting things right, we had almost 200 guests. I was so happy with our choice. We took a chance and got lucky and had a summer like day in May. But the tent and bar area are lovely as well..it was a wonderful place for a wedding reception that fit the outdoor/garden aesthetic. Anna is awesome as a coordinator! She is busy but knows what she is doing. Five stars for sure!“

“Came on a monday night for trivia, and we’ve never been before. Safe to say it was a fun place to be and exceeded our expectations. Limited food menu, so we ate before, but we did consume the fresh (free) popcorn they had. Pitcher of a lite beer was $15. The Bar, looks like a scene out of Hogwarts, dark, funky candles, old wooden tables with names carved in them, and definitely historic. Its a good thing we arrived a bit earlier for 6pm Monday night trivia as it was crowded, lots of Yalies there too.“

“We hadn't been here since in changed names/owners a few years ago. Four diners ordering 4 completely different meals - it was hard to choose which one we liked best. Starting with the street corn dip and poached pear; both were a hit, but the party was divided on whether or not they would have liked the pear served warm (it was served cold) and filled with honey mascarpone and lots of pistachios. We moved onto the main courses of chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes; steak with truffle fries; orecchiette with broccoli and sausage; hamburger with fries. Everything was cooked to perfection (steak medium rare, chicken crispy and not at all dry, burger medium with just a hint of pink in the center.) The drinks were creative (did not skimp on the alcohol!) and plentiful, refilled quickly by our attentive server. Desserts as always tend to make or break a meal; these desserts did not disappoint. Banana tres leches cake, Amaretto crème brulee and the special cookie and ice cream combination along with coffee and digestif. A special treat for the evening - Live entertainment in the bar area. Not too loud, we could still have dining room conversation over the music, but found ourselves singing along to most of the tunes. There is definitely something here for everyone!“

Because the weather was still good, the party took place in the Sky Terrace…the space was very inviting and large enough to accommodate the 33 of us! Ashley and others of the Caloroso team made sure that no one went thirsty or hungry! The buffet of chicken parm, chicken marsala, pasta, salad, and more was totally delicious and plentiful! The large screen in the room made it possible for all to see the birthday trivia game through which I relived lots of happy memories and milestones! I had no idea what was waiting for me when I walked up the stairs and went through the doors into the Sky Terrace…and I’ll never forget the SURPRISE experience! “We absolutely love this place! We have been twice. The second time was this week with my sister (visiting from England). They were very busy but got us seated fairly quickly. The manager asked if we were from England. We then realized that once we were seated, they were playing British hits over the speakers. It was such an awesome touch for us! The food was incredible. The cheese dip with the pretzel sticks is amazing. My sister thoroughly enjoyed the short rib grilled cheese, and the fish (fish and chips) was as close to home as we've gotten over here. I had the portobello wrap, which was delicious. They make a very yummy kids pudding as well, which our daughter loved. We will be back in the near future. I'm so glad this place is a part of our town ❤️“

“We stumbled upon this place and the owner was amazing and welcomimg. The bartenders were just as pleasant and friendly. We stayed and ended up enjoying our entire evening there and felt like family by the time we left. We couldn't leave before enjoying Chaz's delicious food... The fish platter is a must try! We have definitely added this on our list of places we will frequent when needing a nice drink and great atmosphere.“
