“I absolutely love this place! The customer service is always so nice and friendly. You can really tell it’s a family-run business, and they work hard to make sure the food tastes amazing. Another thing I appreciate is how clean and well-sanitized everything is—I’ve never gotten sick from eating here. It’s clear they take pride in what they do.“

“We have been coming to Imperial Chinese buffet about twice a month for the past several years. The variety and the freshness of the dishes have been consistently outstanding. The sushi and hibachi are also really good. The serving staff is very attentive and pleasant. The cleanliness of this restaurant is also remarkable. The high standards maintained by this restaurant keep us coming back.“

“We are lucky enough to live only 10 mins away but if we did not I would be driving here anyways. The best Chinese food in the area for sure, why others gave low scores I have no idea. Owners are always so pleasant when we come for take out, and it is super fast. If you have not tried them you should.“

“Hole in the wall kinda place. Run down. But...best Chinese Food in the area. Owners, who i believe are a family) are great. They will call you if youre late though so be on time to pick up your order. Only one time did i get a weong item and it was an order of pork fried rice vs more white rice. Obviously not a big deal, but i asked because it was for a kid and they rushed, got my rice, let me keep other rice, redid the bag and sent me on my way. Friendly and fast. If you live in the area, i definitely would recommend going here, in my opinion. There are a few more options in town that are fine too. China Town is just the best one.“

“I’m originally from NYC and was craving some Chinese food but was nervous about how it might taste here in CT. I googled Chinese food near me after I finished shopping and this place popped up first with great reviews so I said let’s give it a try. So glad I took the leap of faith!! The food was very fresh, tasty and a great portion. I will definitely be returning to try another one of my NYC favorites.“

“The delivery at that place is really quick. The food is also really good, especially the boneless spare ribs, the chicken broccoli, the chicken wings, and the golden fingers. Not to mention, the customer service is amazing. This is my go to Chinese restaurant.“

“The food soothes the pallet, and the atmosphere is great! The Home made duck sauce was the best I've had, shumai was tender, and crab ragoons were the freshest. The shrimp fried rice and pineapple fried rice are very good. I always keep a look out for who has the best orange chicken, and this place has it. Everything is well kept and clean, as well as the bathrooms. The hostess is exceptionally accommodating.“

“First time getting takeout here - on Christmas day, no less. Our favorite Chinese takeout in town closed and the two that are left aren't very good so we made the 15 minute drive to Torrington.
The quality was top notch. We tried the steamed dumplings (large and stuffed well), beef w/ broccoli, chicken and shrimp lo mein (huge pieces of shrimp), pepper steak and onions, and garlic shrimp. The portions were above average and the prices were below average. The taste of everything was fresh and delicious. What more could you ask for. Will be a returning customer.“

“Recommended by a friend, and did not disappoint!! We made the drive from Bristol and everything was fantastic! Will be coming back soon because no local spots around me are of this quality. We ordered 1/2 chicken, General Tso, Boneless Spare Rib, chicken wings, beef and broccoli, lo mien, and crab ragoon. Everything was flavorful and generous portions.“

“I don't know why there are negative reviews of this place. The atmosphere isn't five star but it's definitely four compared to the dungeon that was here before. The people are very nice and the food is fabulous for a little hole in the wall. I think this place is a hidden gem.“

“Ask anyone in Bristol whether in person or on various social media pages, they’ll say Sun Fat Chinese is one of the best in the area. By the looks of it, at any given day..it’s always busy, so it’s by far the most popular Chinese restaurant in the area…I won’t say the best.
Quick Note - Pretty much all the Chinese restaurants in this area all charge the same and the meals are the same..look at the menu, select food, pay and wait for it. The ones up here also give you a choice of egg roll or soup to go with your lunch order..that’s not just here, but ALL of the restaurants here in the Bristol/Plainville area.
Food - I’ve been here on a couple of times and have tried various items from the pepper steak to the chicken and broccoli to the sesame chicken. It’s all your standard Chinese food restaurant..I don’t see where it is that far ahead of all the rest. Sesame Chicken was good…but not fantastic. You get a heaping portion of it but a ton of rice as well. The egg roll is sometimes soft, other times hard enough to go through a brick wall.
Parking - It’s in the strip mall next to Subway in the MarketEdge/Price Chopper on Farmington Ave/Route 6/72.
I’m giving it 4* total for a couple reasons…first being, no..I didn’t do a phone order..I never do on anything, it’s always as a walk-in. Got there at 2:55, went to order the lunch and was told “it ends at 3.”…I know, it’s not 3pm yet..I’m not one to argue so I said it is whatever and just give me the regular portion then…so because of that and the egg roll being rock hard, I’d give it on a 1-5…3.8-4.1“

“Normally…Sun Fat or Lotus are my to-go spots for Chinese food here in the Bristol area..but someone wanted Chinese and said to try this place because it’s excellent. My main thing when trying a new place is the Sesame Chicken..very basic and easy to tell if you have to add something to it.
Last night..I got the sesame chicken combo..instead of like most places where you have to request them to cook it soft (because it’s usually hard or clumpy)..not this place. It was almost like the style you get when you do the chicken and broccoli. It had excellent flavor and so did the pork fried rice..I didn’t need to add any soy or duck sauce..it was that good.
Normally…when eating Chinese food, as with anyone, you get that bubble gut feeling or you’re hungry an hour later…this was the first time I sat and ate the whole thing in one sitting..AND wasn’t hungry afterwards. I forgot to do the picture til I was halfway through and even then I wanted to continue to dig in.
Definitely a 4.7 out of 5 and/or 9.5 out of 10.“

“1/11/2025 Hello, it’s the picky eater again, I just wanted to share a few things in reference to one of my favorite takeout places in Connecticut. I treat myself to wonton soup with five extra wontons and a small house fried rice about once a week. So, after traveling, shopping and visiting family on Sunday, my husband and I decided we didn’t have the energy to cook dinner. Our first choice was Mona Lisa, in Waterbury( we are going to try the Family takeout menu for the first time ) but they were closed for vacation. So we opted to go to New Moon Chinese Resturant . As I have mentioned in some of my previous restaurant reviews, when I come across something that I enjoy , and the restaurant is consistent in how they make the food, and the food has plenty of flavors and choices, I usually frequent the establishment multiple times. My husband and I ordered takeout . This is what we ordered: one large wonton soup with five extra wontons, one large house fried shrimp and chicken rice , one general T’so chicken meal, fried chicken wings, and shrimp egg fu young. $49.00 plus tip. I enjoyed my regular picks Wonton soup( I add a lot of spinach, a boiled egg and rice to my soup )🍲. This was perfect for me. Everyone also has to keep in mind that I am a very finicky eater. But, I do try to go outside the box every now and again to try something different. I ordered the general T’so chicken. I do have to say it looked delicious, but it didn’t make the cut for me. I also don’t like foods that I have to chew for days. The general T’so was too salty for me and the meat was very stringy. I have to give that one a thumbs down. The fried chicken wings were good on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give them an 8. I cannot personally comment on any of the food that my husband ate, but, he did say it was delicious and he had it the next day for lunch. general T’so chicken did not do well with reheating, it was extremely hard and chewy the next day. The house fried rice and the wonton soup 👍🏽 all day long.
I also will continue to get my regular large wonton soup with five extra wontons and a small house fried shrimp and chicken rice. (I usually get three meals out of this one order.)😋“

“This Chinese restaurant is an absolute gem! The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, all with authentic flavors that showcase the chef's skill and attention to detail. The service is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is clean and inviting—perfect for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend!“

“In my experience the food has always been good, even if it is very expensive. The only reason for 4 stars is because there has been a couple times where the order has been wrong. So if you live in the area and are craving Chinese food, I would definitely recommend!“

“I actually like this place. Reminds me of back home. Cash is preferred. And the price ranges for lunch $7 to 9 dollars. My children love chicken wings with pork fried rice. That was around $8.50. But they give you 4 wings which is what I'm use too compared my local Chinese that give you on 6 pc for $7.80. I did take pictures of their menu because I was always hesitant to buy when I don't see menu on website. I believe they should update their system. We're in 2021?? either way I'm happy my local was close on Monday. Gave me a chance to try new food.“

“I feel bad that when I order I'm sometimes not feeling well but the soup it's something about it because it always makes me feel better I've had there pork fried rice and there food is great. And the smile I get when I get my food that's customer service. The atmosphere to me it's like walking in to one of the restaurants in China town New York City where I grew up it's a great feeling like you never want to leave. Well for me this is my experience.“

“The best Golden fingers compared to others, it tastes and looks like actual chicken! Egg rolls and fried rice also always fresh and flavorful!! Staff is always friendly and orders always ready on time! Not my fav style for the crab Rangoon or the boneless spare ribs, but also not bad. I just prefer my rangoons more cream cheesy, but these were still really good. Soft center crispy outside perfectly cooked and not too greasy! Had a yummy chive? Flavor!“

“We order take out from these guys at least 2x a month and we love the food. I am very picky when it comes to Chinese food. It cannot be oily or have a strange aftertaste. We have tried many restaurants and if it is not Up to Par the first time, the number is deleted and we move on. This location is a keeper. The ingredients are fresh, the food comes hot, they make it pretty quick and the price is reasonable. You will not be disappointed.“

“My happy place to go to. Even they are busy on the phone or waiting on customers the staff still great me in a very appreciate way. The family works hard everyday making the place a success. I recommend the lunch combons. Love the chicken and broccoli. My family is always happy with the amount of food we get and how hot the food is when it gets delivered to us. We get a free soda from the nice lady that works behind the counter. Have been going there for years.“

“Wasn't expecting much from this little hole in the wall restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by how great the food is! The General Tso's chicken wasn't too hot, and was the perfect mixture of spicy and sweet. The crab rangoon was, quite honestly, the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend this place.“

“I like it for a Chinese restaurant. The reason why I give it only 4 stars is it is in my opinion what every Chinese restaurant should do. With that being said I will reiterate that I do like their fried chicken and never had a complaint with the food itself. Delivery is a different story but even then it's not horrible.“

“I looked up Chinese restaurants. This was the closest to me and their prices were lower. I was very worried I was looking for trouble by going for the less expensive. Not even close. The food was excellent. The employees were very friendly. Parking is horrific. Location seems to be a scary part of town. That said, there were so many people in the restaurant as well as standing outside, who apparently live in the area. It looks to me the locals all love this place. And, for good reason. Great prices and good food.“

“Went last week and I’m happy to get the same food and experience as I did going there as a kid. It’s hard to find anything that hasn’t changed so I give the staff/owner much credit for being reliable and managing to keep the same price of admission all these years. If you can find a reason to complain about an all you can eat buffet for $15 there’s something wrong with you. This place deserves“

“Best Chinese food around!!
They happily modify our orders to accommodate our needs and preferences. Always deliver surprisingly fast and with a smile. And whenever there's an issue, they make it up ten fold.
Couldn't recommend higher!“
