Nils was always quick to respond to my many emails. Nils met with me prior to the party starting to make sure everything was as I wanted - it was! The servers Gavin & Kellen were AMAZING! They managed a group of 40 people like pros, and everyone was very happy! The venue was perfect for my husbands 50th birthday, and the prices were very reasonable. I would totally host another event here - IT WAS GREAT! Thank you Nils, Gavin, Kellen and to the many other staff members behind the scenes that helped pull off a great birthday party! Cheers!“

“There is no other restaurant in northern CT that makes me more excited to visit than Germains. Every single item on the menu is incredible, all of the weekly specials are sensational and the entire staff is friendly, helpful and take pride in the service they provide. Germains is the template of how the modern breakfast, brunch, family owned restaurant should be run. Prices are fair, the website is always updated and the team is not afraid to delve into unique and exciting creations for the foodies of the world. Let me put it like this… when Jesus held the last supper I would not have been surprised if he was serving Germains catering. If I was a convict on death row I would very very much consider a Germains special to be my last meal. If I were to describe a perfect day it would be a Germains breakfast sandwich, a round of golf, a Germains lunch wrap followed by an afternoon on the lake. This place is incredible! 11/10 recommend and thank you for all you do! My only ask is maybe consider opening on Sundays 😉“

“Killer roadside hotdog stand! Quick and delicious. He's got 2 daily specials: dog, snack and a canned soda for $5 or 2 dogs for $8. can add chili/cheese for and extra buck. Lots of topping options including like 4 or 5 different mustards. There's a picnic table if you want to sit and eat. The owner is friendly and helpful. CASH ONLY!“

“Amazing Thai restaurant in the area! The service was very friendly and welcoming. We tried the Thai Pao Coconut Chicken, the coconut soup, and the eggplant dish — all were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The presentation of the plates was also beautiful. The restaurant has a warm atmosphere, and the decorations with plants make it feel cozy and inviting. Definitely a place I recommend and will be coming back to!“

“This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I've been to Brewery Legitimus many times throughout the years, and it never disappointed me.

The brewery is spacious enough: the indoor space is separated into two rooms, which makes it easy to have a private event. There is a patio opened during warmer months, as well as several tables near the main entrance (a smaller patio). The place does not serve any food, but the food trucks are usually onsite. Also, the taproom, received an upgrade recently and now you can order cocktails from their bar.

The selection of beers is fine, although it is IPA-heavy. But you can also find several other styles on tap - Marzen, Kolsch, Ales, etc. The place not only serves beer flights of 4, but also sells 6oz drafts, so you can try more beers. I've had almost all the beers they sell during past visits (and refreshed them with new releases during the latest visit). The beers are not frequently rotated, so I only saw 6 new beers compared to my visit several months ago. The beers are always solid. It is safe to order any style and be sure that you will have the best quality. I'm not into IPAs, so from their selection I will definitely recommend their Barrel Aged bottles - Lord Dobson's (Imperial Stout) and Maple Girl (Belgian Tripel). Both of those have an immensely reach barrel taste.

“Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The building is gorgeous- ask for a tour, they will gladly accommodate. This is a wonderful place and space for functions. Always a good time, great beer varieties and wine.“

“I'm a Field Tech from Western MA. A friend of mine took me to Jimmy's 45 years ago. Torrington is a ways to go, but I take jobs there just so I can go to Jimmy's. In 45 years little has changed, especially the quality of the prepared foods. I was raised on Italian food, and this is as good as it gets. I have a job in Torrington tomorrow. See you for lunch, and get something special for Sunday dinner. And the staff there is a joy as well.“

“First time I’ve been here. Most everything was excellent. Amongst things I had was a hibachi combo with broccoli. The sauce was a little “too much” in terms of thickness/sweetness/quantity, but not bad. I requested the broccoli to be cooked soft and it came out excellent ! (Thanks)
