Sad! 🤔😔 I actually have to add, it's a shame that the staff isn't the best, because the concept is great, the events are fun and our group which usually numbers 10 to 15 people enjoy hanging out there for the events and the food which is reasonable and pretty good! 💝😎👍“

“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. “Fantastic ice cream spot. They make it all fresh from the milk from the cows in the farm right beside. Loved the fact that they decided to share the produce in such an innovative way. The location is also fantastic. Offering picturesque views of the surrounding landscape, the farm and the creamery. They have nice spots to sit on just outside the creamery. They had a good variety of choices too. The ice cream was very refreshing. Would definitely recommend giving this a try, whether you're an ice cream enthusiast, or someone who just wants to try something new.“

“Stopped in Newark on the way back to NYC after 8pm and were happy that Home Grown was open and so vegan friendly since there're no fully vegan restaurants in the area until you get to Wilmington. Agree with what other people commented on, the way they coded the menu so you can easily see what is vegan or can be made vegan is delightful and I wish it were more commonplace at other omni restaurants. We ordered the Strawberry Barbecue Soy Curls (marinated soy curls, vegan “cheesy” grits, sautéed kale, strawberry-balsamic barbecue sauce) which is under their seasonal dishes and comes default vegan. It was delicious, the sauce a tad sweet but the creamy, cheesy grits did a good job of balancing it out. We also got the Cheesesteak Banh Mi vegan version (seitan, pickled radishes and carrots, cucumbers, kimchi, jalapeños, vegan cheese, cilantro, yum yum sauce, pan de baston) and for the side we upgraded to a petite Caesar (I neglected to notice this would be an additional charge of $7.50, I thought it was $2.00!) The sandwich was also delicious, the seitan was sliced paper thin and was really tasty on its own. The veggies were crispy and fresh and there was the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. The Caesar was also fresh and I liked the dressing but it was really thick, we ordered it on the side to mix in but it needed more if you want full coverage! The space has a casual fun bar vibe, 80s music and the 'art' was all bright big canvases featuring pop culture characters like the Simpsons and Garfield, service was super friendly, our server Logan could not have been nicer and recommended the Hyatt hotel down a block and that made for a perfect stopover for us, we will be back!“

“I went with my group on a Thursday which was a very light evening which allowed my group to enjoy our whole dining experience. Our server had time to explain the menu and make recommendation to our group that included a 4 year old. Why is this relevant? Because, she gave her the same respectful service as she did the adults. Thank you. Now let's get to the food. I had the Chicken Picatta. I had to take the picture because at the first bite I new it was about to be destroyed. I left nothing on the plate. “We've now had Viva Vegan make at least half a dozen custom cakes for us over the last couple of years, and they've all been excellent! The head baker/owner Evangelina can handle any dietary constraints. One of our recent cakes had to be gluten free and also avoid a few other common ingredients, and the cake was still very fluffy and moist and delicious... a big hit among all of our guests! She uses organic and high quality ingredients as well, which no other bakery in town does that I know of.“
