“Named as one of the top dive bars in the country, Murph's is a bit less ragged and run down and a step up from some of the dives I've been in. It's clean, tastefully decorated, and spacious. You can immediately tell that this is a neighborhood bar, where the locals are all familiar with one another. There is ample space for pool, and the 360 degree wrap-around bar is a great touch. We only came in for beer, and I can report back that the draft beer is quite cold!“

The bar tender was very friendly. Served me a double of what I needed to forget my troubles. They don’t serve food though. But that’s ok.“

There’s tons of bar space and table seating which makes the walkway quite skinny, so be prepared to be bumping shoulders and hips with the patrons all night. Honestly the back wall being full of TVs is kind of hilarious and doesn’t fit the vibe but who cares. Didn’t get the bartender’s name with the tattoos but that guy was really cool. “I have hosted two parties at McCully's in 2018 for corporate functions. Nick rocked both functions with excellent service, reasonable pricing and flexibility. The relaxed atmosphere allowed everyone to kick back, laugh, sing and dance all while eating good bar food. The second party was in May with an expanded menu, my favorite new item was the mahi mahi tacos. Our bartenders Alice and Meredith were EXCELLENT! They had everyone laughing and engaged, mixed drinks quickly and deliciously and pouring one of their 40+ selections of craft beer. “I was invited by a friend on a Tuesday evening, and there was a birthday party going on, so there wasn't any food being sold, don't really know if they still did? The birthday patry people provided the food and allowed everyone to have some, which was so nice. There was a DJ named DJ Cuzzin Pete who was jammin! It's hard to get guys to dance with you in Delaware. I don't know why? Pretty small place. There is a pool table and a nice sized dance floor. The mixed drinks were good.“

“The bartenders there serve people that are obviously visibly drunk and falling off their stools! When I brought it up to the bartender, she said I misread the situation and it was none of my business! So, I went to the manager and she repeated pretty much the same statement like it was scripted because it continuously happens! I wonder if the owners are aware of these actions because honestly the bartender and manager should be fired for those kind of attitudes as it's illegal to serve visibly impaired patrons at a bar! Sad! 🤔😔 I actually have to add, it's a shame that the staff isn't the best, because the concept is great, the events are fun and our group which usually numbers 10 to 15 people enjoy hanging out there for the events and the food which is reasonable and pretty good! 💝😎👍“
