“This hotel, bar, and restaurant from the early 1900’s is now a cozy little bar. It’s stepping back in time. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, reasonable prices. if you’re lucky, the owner will be there and you can chat with him and get a history lesson on the place. It’s right next-door to the music hall. Don’t miss it.“

“My husband and twent here on my birthday the fifth to watch the Buzzard Band play and watched the boats.
First time being at The Deck, we always are inside...it was 🥵.
The food was okay, that a Crab Melt that was not what I thought it would be.
My husband has pizza and cheese steak rolls..he likes his food.
Our server was a sweet girl and took could care of the section we were in.“
“I love this bar. I always have fun and feel comfortable to vibe and have a good time. The bartenders are amazing and attentive no matter how busy they get.
There’s bands, Kareoke on Thursdays, pool, and darts. And sometimes food truck. :) check it out if you’re ready for a good night! <3“

“I've lost track of how many times we stopped here. The drinks are ridiculously cheap and the bartenders are great. We never sit with empty glasses. We like to go when its quieter on Sundays, but even durning the weekend when it was really crowded we still found seats at the bar. They always have all the games on, including horse racing. This is one of our faves.“

“4 stars for atmosphere, service, staff, patrons. Very welcoming staff,owner,locals. I was out of town there meeting up with a friend whom was out of town as well. There was a bday scheduled there that day and they invited us to partake. Treated as family and will probably make this the preferred meet up spot when I come together with friends from out of town. It's halfway between our homes and 3 pool tables available with slayer on the jukebox“

“A great venue, not far from the UD campus right on the river. Good food at decent prices. Their upstairs venue space is awesome. We are there monthly for the Vanguard Event and they go out of their way with custom drinks and great service. 10/10 would recommend!“

“I went on a Friday night and it was great! We stayed until 2330. The food was great, the drinks was good, service was super fast, and the night vibe was amazing! Definitely will go back and would recommend to KARAOKE fans. O and the room sizes can fit like around 10 guests comfortably.“

“Very pleasant, great staff, excellent manager and the food is very good. They seem to maintain control over liquor sales in a part of Main Street at the intersection of Chapel which seems to be the worst in the City. The only thing seems to be the kitchen staff which seems very unfriendly. Have known the owner since day 1 when Gus asked me to help him put.“

“Enjoyed my birthday tonight with family and friends. Grew up in Newark and have never eaten here. It did not disappoint. Love the history and the ambience. Our waitress, Piper was phenomenal, .... friendly, accommodating, and very attentive. The food was perfectly portioned and all tasted great. The soft pretzel was wonderful. The Brussel Sprouts was excellent and the short ribs were tender and flavorful. The apple cider mule was a perfect drink to top it all off.“

“Tonight was one of the best meals I've had out in recent memory. Short rib with garlic mashed potatoes, seafood risotto, and awesome appetizer of Brie and berries, with a delicious chocolate brownie skillet to end. Two thumbs up! 👍🏼👍🏼“

“This place has been here a while but I'm so glad we got there when we did! Each time I've ordered something different and we have not been disappointed! The best Ruben I've had since Sharffer's, and I've tried them everywhere! The drinks are good, service is with smile and there is also outside seating!!! I highly recommend it, you'll come back I'm sure. It's a bit pricey, but what isn't these days?? Worth every dime. Bon a petite!“
