“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. If you are in the Newark area and would like some tasty and quick diner food, go there & ask for Alicia <3 Thanks Alicia will be there again real soon !“

“Unequivocally, the best halal food you can get here! Their white sauce, that you can buy hand-made by the bottle, is the best we’ve tasted at a halal store/food-truck/cart. If you like middle eastern food, even a little bit, or kids that just likes French fries, don’t hesitate to order from here! The food, flavors, portion-size, and price can’t be beat. They encouraged us to customize the food any way we wanted! So, also great for picky kids.

The kitchen & store was/is impeccably clean. The staff are so nice! When you enter, the staff instantly treats you like habibi—it feels like being welcomed into a home, and they truly care about you!

Our party remarked both at how incredibly reasonable the price was and how amazing the food was. My brother pointed out that when I took my first bite, my eyes literally go wide & lit up. Our party kept remarking on how good the meal was for the rest of our day.

I ordered the chicken gyro w/ fries and customized it with Tika chicken. We also got the tilapia gyro, falafel gyro, and onion rings & mozzarella sticks (both come with white sauce, instead of marinara, which we were hesitant, until trying). We went back and got a bottle of white sauce to use at home for everything.

The flavor had uncountable amounts of flavors and was perfectly cooked & spiced; no ingredient or spice overpowered another, but you can taste them all. The french fries are also always the perfect crispiness, that somehow only the best truly authentic middle eastern/halal shops, can get them to be.

Absolutely incredible! All the money is put towards the food and cleanliness with the semi-open kitchen.

The portion size for a single gyro is huge! Everyone in our group exclaimed how much food each of us got! It was large enough that most could only eat about half and was able to reheat the rest. So 2 meals, for ~$13. Absolutely nothing compares!

“This was my first time eating at Cava and the person who made my order Yoselin did an amazing job! She gave me exactly what i wanted and was so polite to me. Her service at Cava was 10/10! She even offered to help me choose something to get since it was my first time and her patience with me was nice of her as I didn’t know what to get at first. “A wonderful place with a healthy variety of food so there's something for everyone. They're very accommodating with the options— not everything is vegan, but it feels like at least half of the menu is, and if it isn't then it can be made vegan. Menu items are conveniently and clearly labeled so you know what is vegan, gluten-free, or has nuts, among other things, and I can't stress enough how much I really wish every place did this. The seitan wings and loaded totchos are some of my favorites on the appetizer end- the "wings" in particular feel nice and juicy and have a great texture that I've been trying and failing to replicate at home. They have a really killer plant burger too known as the California Gardenator, which for me is always a big +10 points especially seeing how many places' "plant options" will just be an Impossible Patty; they also have delicious and flavorful tacos made with soy curls. The location unfortunately has the same "issue" as the other Main Street locations in Newark, which is that's there not a great way to quickly park and go even if you just want to pick something up (and all the parking spots on Main Street are metered because of course they need to capitalize off of the UD kids) but the actual building is a gorgeous establishment with great indoor/outdoor seating and friendly staff. Some may disagere but I found the prices pretty reasonable for the quality and it feels like the portions are plentiful— I've underestimated how much food they give you a few times.“

“First time trying this place and it was amazing! We had a friendly, attentive server. He checked in with us many times, refilling our drinks and chatting with us. The garlic bread, salad and Pizza was absolutely amazing!! Can’t wait to go back again.“

“We only get a chance to come here on the weekends there is normally a wait but it's never more than 20 min. The staff is always super friendly and nice, and very knowledgeable about the menu. It is a VAST menu so it might take a while to decide what you want but we have tried a bunch of things and nothing has been short of wonderful. Price is on par for what you get rolls are a good size at an average price with quality ingredients. Highly recommend the soup dumplings! We always try to get something new but keep getting those dumplings!

Parking: It's near the food court in the mall so parking can be challenging but it is free

Kid-friendliness: We have taken out 2 year old every time we have been here we just get her a side of rice and some popcorn chicken, staff is very accommodating to kids and they have kids cup and high chairs

Wheelchair accessibility: 1st floor location and is technically on the outside of the mall so easy access from the street“

“I went with my group on a Thursday which was a very light evening which allowed my group to enjoy our whole dining experience. Our server had time to explain the menu and make recommendation to our group that included a 4 year old. Why is this relevant? Because, she gave her the same respectful service as she did the adults. Thank you. Now let's get to the food. I had the Chicken Picatta. I had to take the picture because at the first bite I new it was about to be destroyed. I left nothing on the plate. The Impossible Sloppy for those who need a vegan option also got a thumbs up. The food comes out hot hot! No one complained! I will be back the next time I am in Delaware.“

“We decided to go to dinner at Firebirds. I had been once and was not impressed; however my husband had never been there. I have to say the food was good. Cooked exactly the way we wanted. The only draw back we had is the portions of food that you receive for the price that you pay. We felt like we were robbed. We don’t over eat so when I say we had small portions, we really had small portions. The dessert was even small portions for the price that you’re required to pay. The five very thin layers of lemon cake were good but the slice was very thin for $10.25. Out bill was $76.30 for two and I would have no problem if we had an appetizer and alcoholic drinks but there was none of that because we don’t drink. We each had a soda because the lemonade was too tart. The server was very pleasant and on time with everything. We tipped her well as we should have. Not sure I can return there. A little more light would be appreciated if I did return.“

I’ve now tried several different items and different pizzas and all of them have been delicious. You gotta try the BBQ beef cheesesteak (add extra meat and extra cheese) and BBQ chicken pizza. “I’ve been going here for about two years now and this is my of my favorite restaurants in the area. The Baja Shrimp tacos have this amazing sauce that makes the meal so so good. And the burros have such a good sauce too. I also love their fries, they’re so unique with them being so thin. The service here is also great. You get sat quickly, your server comes over fast, and your food comes out fast. The other night I had this server Dana who was so sweet and we had a nice conversation. It was great because I was dining alone so I was happy to have someone to talk to. And she recommended the pastelitos and they were delicious. Highly recommend!!!“

“Tony's is a local Italian restaurant in Newark along Chestnut Hill Road (DE 4) in a shopping plaza anchored by the local Shoprite. The dining area is basic, mostly what you'd expect from a local restaurant. However, the decor could use a little bit of an update and then it'd be just right.
The menu features what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant in the orbit of Philadelphia - pizzas, pastas, strombolis, etc. and have a great variety of different pizzas. For my meal, I went with a vegetarian pizza (spinach, tomato and ricotta cheese) and an order of garlic bread. The pizza itself was pretty tasty and the ricotta made a good contrast to the mozzarella on the pie itself and the vegetables were generally nice and fresh. The crust was also pretty decent as it could hold the slice and had just enough crisp for a good thin-crust pizza. The miss for me was the garlic bread. I don't know if it was the preparation for my particular order, but my bread had some minced garlic topping the butter on the bread rather than well-dispersed in the butter. I love garlic but trying to eat those pieces of minced garlic wasn't for me as it was bitter. I would like to see them better incorporate the garlic into the bread as that might help the read out. The garlic aside, the bread was nicely baked and had the butter and garlic been better spread I would have really enjoyed it.
The service was decent as well. I didn't have to wait too long for a refill and the server made sure I was take care of at my table.
Overall, it's a nice neighborhood Italian restaurant for those local to Newark and you'll at least get an enjoyable meal if you visit here.“
