“This place is everything chipotle hopes to be. The food is better, fresher, more colorful. It’s like 2 or 3 bucks more expensive than chipotle but it is 1000% worth it and it also comes with more food. Never waited more than 10 mins for my food. Honestly surprised more people dont know of this place. 10/10 would recommend“

“Stopped here on recommendation from someone local. We were greeted immediately by GABRIEL. He was patient with us since we were first timers. I am not a Cuban food expert so I asked a few questions he answered politely without making me feel dumb.

We ordered the papa rellena (potato ball stuffed with ground beef) and a ropa veja empanada. (Crispy pastry stuffed with seasoned shredded beef) as appetizers. Both were delicious delicious.

For mains he got the Ybor Cuban sandwich which was Ham, Roasted Pork, Salami, Swiss Cheese, Mustard, Pickles, Ybor Cuban Bread. He got it minus the mustard. I of course had to sample it as well and it was very nice soft bread, juicy meat and the flavor all together was amazing!

I ordered the Lechon bowl. It came with Lechon (roasted pork), yellow rice black beans and sweet plantains with an egg on top (for $1 extra). Gabriel also asked if we wanted sauces, he named them off I asked to sample them all. One was the mojo sauce I know it was a citrus and very garlic forward sauce. I would have liked less garlic and more citrus. One was an almost sour cream(possibly) cilantro green sauce and one was a pink sauce don’t know what was in it but it was good!

When we come up from Jacksonville again we will definitely visit again! Possibly try other things as well!

Kid-friendliness: They have kids menu options and it would be a place kids would be welcome.“

“I've been hunting for an authentic Mexican restaurant since we moved to Florida 1 year ago. This is it. We ate here on a Monday night, and the restaurant was packed and had plenty of take out meals going out the door. The quality of the food was equivalent to El Fagon in Playa del Carmen, my all-time favorite Mexican restaurant (if you've ever been there you know what I'm talking about!) We ordered the taco platee ( I chose 1 taco each of Al Pastor, Chorizo, and Carnitas). My husband ordered the Al Pastor burrito. Delicious! We were given both green and red salsa, both delicious and spicy. Great beer selection. The service was great. No frills decor, but that's what we expect at an authentic Mexican restaurant, so we felt right at home during our meal. If you like good Mexican food and you're in Gainesville, this place is a must visit.“

“This was a nice place to visit on a late Monday night. We passed by like at 10pm because it was one of the few places in the area opened until 11. The restaurant was pretty much empty, so it was chill and no wait to sit. Just waited some for the food to come out, but it was worth it.

My wife and I Ordered the Chicken Tostones starter and the Grilled Chicken with Cilantro-Crema to share for a quick "light" late dinner and added the margarita sampler to try it out.

The trend with all these restaurants is the smaller portions, so we can see how inflation has affected the servings. The quality was great, I was impressed because the entree was very tasty. Our concern was the Tostones... as you can see in the photo we took and compare it to the one from their online menu its a bit different. I told my wife, i guess they had extra tomatoes, so they loaded them up on top to hide the fact that there was barely any chicken and only like two, three peppers underneath. lol

Overall, the food tasted great, the service was fine. Right after we paid it was 11pm, so all the lights came on and it was time to leave. We will probably be back next time we are in the Gainesville area and want to have to BB.“
